Huawei Watch on 5.1.1 Need Help Disabling Wears Pixel Shift In Ambient Mode - Huawei Watch

Hello Everyone! I'm reaching out to you to find out how I can somehow stop ambient mode from slightly shifting my display. I fully understand that this is burn in protection and understand the risks if I find a way to disable it. I found some mentions in editing the build.prop and turning it off in there but I pulled the build.prop and see no setting in my Huawei Watches file to edit it there. Can anyone let me know what I can do to find and disable this? I am fully capable of debugging over bluetooth so I don't need a full tutorial just where to find the file or setting and edit and save it. Thanks!!!

Sorry I can't help but I'm interested to know why you're going to the trouble since it only happens for a fraction of a second every minute.

Modifying auto brightness on Tmobile sgs2

Can someone assist me with some instructions on how I can pull the necessary file to modify mentioned settings, then push it back. I've found other threads on this but nothing specifically for our device.
I'm just sayin!

1) I've already posted in Q&A a couple days ago and no response
2) I googled it before I posted the question in Q&A and in here, and nothing was specific to the Tmobile sgs2. Since it's a modding question I thought development would be an appropriate place, but if i've stepped out of line, then excuse my ignorance.

Wish I knew lol...oh how I miss the features of CyanogenMod.
You can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235212
Although I wouldn't recommend copying over his framework-res.apk. I would do it from scratch using apk manager or something.
Not to mention the kernel has to support lower brightness values.

Thanks for the input. Basically I'd like to slightly raise the brightness under the lowest lighting conditions. Reason being, is to help mask the blobs while watching Netflix, YouTube, and other videos with a low lit environment.

On a Samsung T-Wizz ROM, this may be quite difficult to find. You can Tasker to do what you requested though.
Create a new profile that is activated whenever you launch one of the apps in question.
Have the profile turn off auto brightness and set the screen brightness to x.
Set the end-profile condition to when the apps is closed and the end profile action to set auto-brightness back on.
There is a root application that does this, Lux or something like that, I can't think of it off the top ofmy head right now.

Thanks, I'll first try to modify the framework-res.apk to see if I can get some results from that. If not, then this definitely sounds like a good workaround!

[Q] S Note brightness

Apologies if this has already been asked.
When I open S Note my device goes to full brightness and ignores whatever brightness level set. Is this normal?
Edit. Just found a thread, apologies...
Also, what does Reading Mode do?

Build.prop tweaks?

So as an amateur root enthusiast, I like to click around and mess with stuff to see what more I can learn...
Last night while running stock(nougat), rooted with magisk, i made some tweaks to my build prop and to my csc... i was mostly just messing around so i dont remember what the the actual value was that i changed from false to true...
But anyway, whatever i did made it so a new entry in my settings showed up called "Google UI tuner"... unfortunately when i clicked it, it immediately crashed, indicating that the actual apk is absent.
I'm curious if anyone has any knowledge of that UI tuner (or if it needs now launcher?), and more importantly, what are some build.prop tweaks that can unlock neat features.
Bonus points to whoever knows whcih value to change to allow me turn off soft key lights. I hate those.

[MOD] Always On Display Enabler - Magisk Module

Hello there.
This is a magisk module that will enable Always on Display. This is confirmed to work on Android Pie on the Google Pixel (XL), however it will probably work for most devices.
The way this works is explained here. As you can see, it's super simple!
This also requires Magisk 17.0+.
DOWNLOAD
To use it, simply flash it in Magisk Manager, then reboot. AOD will then automatically be enabled, and you can toggle it on or off in Display settings.
Happy Always on Displaying!
Glad to finally see this feature, but I do have one concern. I noticed that it does not turn off when the light sensor is covered, could this cause screen burn in?

I believe the sensor needs to be covered for 10 seconds for it to turn off, if I remember correctly. No, this won't cause burn in, if you record th screen and speed it up, you'll see that the clock moves very slowly

Thanks, after playing with it for a while I just discover that it takes 10 seconds. Again, thanks for the feature.
Does this bork the sRGB color calibration when turned on? I was the one who created the magisk module in the other thread and it somehow broke my sRGB option.

It shouldn't bork it. Didn't even know someone else made a magisk module lol, can you link it?
EDIT: nvm, I found it. Yeah srgb should work with this one.
See attached. The files here are from the Pixel 3 (Non-XL) which someone on Telegram told me, is almost the same as in the Pixel 2 XL. Do note that I didn't just include the framework-res__auto_generated_rro APK but the whole /system/vendor/overlay folder. Because I think it includes some other animations like the one when using the Pixel 3 Live Wallpapers.
I would also want to know if by using your module, will AoD be able to follow the ambient sensor? Because mine seems like it always is in full brightness even when I try to cover the sensor.

All mine does is enable the string that enables AOD. Yours does a LOT of other stuff, which could be bad (not 100% sure, I haven't look through your overlay very closely.). The only thing that needs to be set to true is config_dozeAlwaysOnDisplayAvailable, after setting that everything else is handled (the ambient sensor will turn off the display after 10 seconds, pixel 3 wallpapers work, etc)

Oh I see, so this does not include overriding the overlay of the system? Hmmm. So it's much like just flipping a switch then?

This does override the overlay of the system. I would recommend decompiling it and taking a look for yourself, because I suck at explaining things lol.
BTW: I took a further look at your magisk module, and it sets some stuff that is very much not good. Take a look in res/xml/power_profile.xml after decompiling the overlay, it is setting cpu related stuff that should only be set on the Pixel 3

Ah I see. Like I said, I just tried to port the whole overlay folder to my OG XL. Good to hear your input.
Working fine for me. Pixel, october stock. Thanks sir

It is possible to add the alarm time on lockscreen?
Nice module. Working perfectly for me
Link in OP updated, I lowered the overlay priority so it doesn't break other overlays (ahem lawnstep)
I've been running (Sai's Always On Enabler)[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=baka.sai.pixelEnabler] substratum overlay for several months now and it has been working great. How is this Magisk module different?
I also use Tasker to enable Always On Display only when plugged in, which I highly recommend!

Last time I tried it (a couple of months ago), it was kind of buggy (had to double tap the power button to turn on, the screen turned grey sometimes, etc), did they fix those issues? I just figured it was still buggy so I made this lol

Hi. Ensure you are on Android 9 (Pie) AND Magisk 17.0+ - as per the OP.
Download the ZIP file onto your phone (either download directly on phone or drag n drop from PC)
Open Magisk and go to "Modules"
Click on the + icon
Find your ZIP file and open it
Wait for it to install then click "Reboot"
Go to Settings > Display > Advanced > Ambient Display. Turn on "Always on Display" if you need to
Done!

Question (FIXED) POCO F3 Touchscreen doesn't respond well to precise small touches

(POCO F3 LATEST MIUI 14 STOCK)
I got this new phone yesterday, overall it's pretty good, but i noticed something weird, when playing games, specially shooters where you need presicion it doesn't have a good response to small movements,
it's like having high deadzones with a analog stick from a controller, it doesn't recognizes position changes of the finger immediately after the start of its movement.
i have to pass a couple milimeters of distance from the initial position to the next to register, i haven't seen much people talk about this but some people say that it is a phone issue, others say it's a miui or rom issue, i seriously want to root the phone to test other roms, but i don't want to lose the warranty right now so i want to make sure if i can do something i didn't do.
My poco x3 nfc didn't have that issue, but i sadly can't do comparisons because it's not longer working.
Video example from reddit, not my post but it is my exact problem.
Thanks for reading.
(EDIT) i fixed it! it was just to manually adjust some settings in game turbo, this was getting through my nerves, please watch this video if you have the same issues.
I have the same problem with that, but i tried a lot of roms and fixes for that nothing helped.
If you really need only in game's, i found a solution of small movement via gyroscope, maybe that could help you.
This sucks... Yeah i use gyroscope to do these small movements for now.
Do you have the same phone? I'm thinking of returning it, but i still don't know if this one i got is a bad unit or all poco f3 suffers from this. I'm still thinking what is the best thing to do.
I have same phone i don't think its unit problem . Root your phone (you can easily unroot later) and use increase touch magisk module by vito hermawan.

what did you do in game turbo?
You have to adjust touch settings manually for every game and set it exactly like this, if you don't know where to find this watch the video i linked in the post

Pro mode for some reason sucks i don't know exactly why, it feels really bad but maxing these three options make it feel perfect.
Dont use Pro mode, just go into custom and to like the guy said on video.
I don't recommend you to change any of those touch settings.it becomes more choppy. Just disable swipe to screenshot feature.

Hey guys, i fixed this problem with clearing all data of "battery and performance" and this enables 120fps in cod mobile and i dont have latency with touch. Try it, it will solve all your problems.
