Image retention - Huawei Watch

Hey guys,
I've had this image retention on my watch since I got it. At first I figured it's a new screen and will go away after a few hours.
It wasn't very noticeable before but it's starting to get worse.
I created a plain white watchface with Watchmaker and took a photo of it applied and you can clearly see the remains of an image on the screen (even though the pic looks blue)
Is anyone else having this issue? Should I send the watch back?
Thanks!

looks something like dickbutt xD
maybe hardware fault? And unless you bought this watch brand new it might (although improbable) be a really bad proof of burn in (again, highly unlikely)

Depends on where they get the watches. Most times they don't be brand new. Also they were test watches that were called back then workers steal them and sell at low prices to retailers

I actually got it from Amazon. Black Friday sale.
To make matters worse, I'm not in the US anymore. Guess I'm going to find a local repair centre. Hope the warranty still covers the fix.
They must have a crap QA process for these watches.

I got mines the same time directly from Amazon. Have to be careful because items don't be from Amazon but another seller. Last time I check if you have a leather band then it didn't came from Amazon but a seller from Amazon

Amazon was out of stock on that day, they had everything except leather that's why I got mesh band so I think you got from another seller

Just double checked, was sold by Amazon.com LLC. Ordered it on 26 Nov so I think I was part of the out of stock situation.
I've set a mostly white face and turned off always-on. When I switch it on the screen goes perfect on its way to being too blue. If only I could wear out the blue a little
I'm going to have to wait for the watch to launch here in South Africa and see if I can get it to a Huawei service centre to get the screen fixed. I bet it's just a loose connection or something stupid.

Just got off a chat with Amazon. I'm sending it back and getting a replacement.
I'll probably only get it next year because of all the holidays. Fingers crossed I get a replacement with a decent screen.

I bought the Official Protective Case from Oppomart. It was no good! See this post i made a while ago.
This was from August 9. I'm still waiting for a replacement (they didn't have the one i bought so i'm waiting for a Clear Case now).
Also, the tracking numbers they sent me do NOT work!
Their response system is rubbish, even though they always respond back. Their answers do not really help...
To conclude, i think you should buy your accessories from eBay or something else. Not Oppomart.
Good luck!

damn.... that was really a big help! thank you for that! :good:
No prob... I wish i had better news :/
I got a case from there. Love it. Even switched back to it after using the diztronic.
.... I bought 3 cases, they travelled just 15 days from Singapore to Italy, they are good quality, one BEPACK ad 2 AIUXAN, nothing bad to say ....maybe I've been lucky ?
who knows .....
i bought a nillikin glass screen protector, a pelosi case and the official one plus clear case. it got to me in about a week, and all were good quality.
i have heard some people complain of the one plus case, but mine has been great. no cracking issues after three weeks.
So on the Oppomart replacement case. It's been a initially 2 months since i initially bought the case. After they agreed to refund me if the 3d tracking number didn't work in 7 days time (that was on 1st September), in September 8 I sent a new message informing them on the subject and requested my rightful refund. But no, today (9/9) they declined it again and sent a new tracking number that works for the moment. However, I'm done waiting. I told them that if the case is not here in 7 days i will escalate. I do not trust them anymore (not that I ever did). By 18/9 the time period left for me to escalate is over.
So a good shop is shown when things go sideways. They failed!!
Please guys, do not do business with them. You never know when someone is gonna "play" you!
PS. For everyone now knowing what this is about, please refer to my previous posts.
Good luck!
i never buy an accesory from the official store
I bought the original flip cover and everything went right
Of course they will be customers that bought something and everything went according to plan guys.
That's not the point...
I bought a red aixuan and a green original case from oppomart they both came in an excellent condition in about 12 days in Europe from China

I did to, after a couple of weeks the plastic cracked.
I'd bought the official clear hard shell case for my first OPO from Oppomart but I'd sold the phone before it arrived. However, I got my new OPO yesterday and it fits fine - not loose, clips into place nicely and although it doesn't give a lot of support it's enough for me along with an official screen protector. I'm happy
I bought two case but only one has arrived. The case description said it was leather but turns out to be plastic. It fits well but looks cheesy SKU E0036

Moto 360 bumper case 3D printed

I've designed two simple snap on cases for the Moto 360 that I hope will offer some extra protection to the glass face. Right now there is a short and tall version. The short is just 0.3mm over above the glass and the tall is 1.5mm above.
I've been wearing the short one in black since Thursday and have been happy with it from a fit and look standpoint. The matte black next to the stainless ring on the front looks great. And the tall version should be here this week and as long as it looks OK i will likely switch to it as i feel like the short one is mostly appearance and not helping to protect the glass at all. Can you tell I'm phobic about scratching the face of this watch?
I have only ordered the black and polished metallic. The black looks great but the metallic looks cheap and I wouldn't willingly wear it.
I'm open to suggestions for changes to shape and design if people would like some other versions. And while i make a few dollars off each of these, this is not a business and I'm never going to open tooling and make these commercially in volume. But i would be really surprised if there are not a dozen phone case makers turning out similar products in a few months. I'm actually wondering why they are not there already? Maybe Motorola didn't release outside dimensions ahead of release like they do for many phones.
If other are interested you can order from here: www (dot)shapeways(dot)(Com)/shops/Raelx[/url]

Great find! I may order the white one.. The only thing Im iffy on, is its covering up the beauty of the silver
Love the idea. but then again, its just more bulk to the watch (which is already big on my smaller wrists)

Short or tall version? This looks very interesting.
This is definitely interesting, I like it. To bad the shipping is almost as much as the case itself. Any discount codes for the site? I think I might just have to order one.
I ordered the matte black one today. I already have a few scratches on the side of the watch and bezel, but I managed to buff them out for the most part. This will help keep it from getting more scratched up I think. I'll post pics once I get it.

I just ordered one with USPS First Class shipping total out the door $12.99
That's a reasonable price, the problem is i live in Puerto Rico and it shows $19.99 for ship to a total of $27.99, and some sites think we are international shipping. We have in PR USPS, UPS, Fedex that I use always without problem. Sending a small like that would be like 5 to 6 bucks on USPS.
For example: Yesterday i was going to buy a Amazon Fire TV for my boss, and I was unable to buy, even calling amazon support they told me they cant be shipped to Puerto Rico, and the crazy thing its I have a Fire TV since launch that I bought directly from amazon and received via UPS next day and she saw the order on my history he don't even know how i do it. I have prime and I receive the diapers for my toddler second day via UPS. Crazy stuff LOL
I live in NY so I have asked Shapeway if there is any way I can come pick it up. Their website does mention the fact that they are cool with personal pickups.
Shipping 2 to Florida and only 4.99 for USPS First-Class Shipping

Cracked Back - alternative solutions?

I bought my Moto 360 when it first came out. Since I'm from Canada and bought it in the states, I don't think my warranty applies. (correct me if I'm wrong!)
I got two watches - black and silver. Both have cracks. The silver one is pretty severe that the two cracks are about to meet (not sure what will happen when they meet).
My question is - what do I do?
Do I just live with it? What happens if the two cracks meet? Does the piece of the back fall off? If so can the watch still be worn?
Is there a place that can repair or replace the back?
Can i go to best buy, purchase two new ones, switch them for the broken ones and then return the watches claiming they cracked? I know its 'unethical' or whatever, but will best buy accept my return or will they only offer exchanges?
Thanks for your help! If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears!
Motorola should warranty them as long as you have a US address for them to ship a replacement too. I don't think they will do an advance exchange though as they like to put a hold on a credit card and won't accept anything but a US one. If the cracks meet the back shouldn't fall off as it is stuck on with a lot of double sided tape. I shaved the ears on mine down, no cracks so far and I've had it since BestBuy US started selling them.
I'll call motorola and see if they will cover it under warranty. Thanks!

Screen Issue - Blue Shift is VERY REAL if you are unlucky!!

I happened to have access to another Pixel 2 XL the past several days and was shocked to see the big difference between screens/units if you are unlucky. I am one of those who initially thought people make the blue shift issue too big of a deal (because my unit was great, minimum shift). I was so wrong if you happened to own an extreme blue shift unit. I am sharing these details and photos for informational purposes and hope it helps those unlucky one to get a replacement or make a decision.
My comparison photos are not scientific. My unit also has a slim case when I took the photos but the blue shift is very real. I also swapped the position of phones between photos to make sure it is not the lighting, make sure both phones have the same Adaptive Brightness On & Off and both phones are at the same Brightness %.
The manufacture date for both units (LG's IMEI site) - The unit with the extreme blue shift (Oct 10) is made one day after my unit (Oct 9). Looks like it is a screen lottery game with the Pixel 2 XL...

When they increased the warranty I figured this would be what I do and placed a new order (I had cancelled my previous one). I'm willing now to gamble that I get a good one. If it's like the image's non-blue one, I'm good. If not it goes back right away and I'll get another one, if that one is NG then I'm done until I read that they've fixed it.
Mine also has Oct 10 manufacturing date and looks just like the one you borrowed. I didn't realize there are Pixel 2 XL without the blue tint until I saw your photos.
I'm seriously considering to RMA mine since I know that not all 2XL have the blue tint.
How do I start the RMA with Google? Is there a web site I can do it or do I need to call them?
I've added a lot of overhead, and 45-degree pics of the 2 Xl with my 6P, HERE for comparison here to give those worried about the blue tint issue some additional perspective.

There is no perspective, some have it some don't. You can rave about how good your screen is, that doesn't mean the next person's is. Some are blue some are not. I've seen both. If your screen isn't blue, cool but don't tell someone else theirs isn't , cause you don't know. Definitely a huge QC issue
For those that have been successful with getting an RMA for the blue tint did you get a unit that doesn't have it? What do we do if we get an RMA that has the blue tint also (of which we can check as soon as we get it out of the box)? Do we RMA the RMA? How does that process even work? lol

No , it's good you posted pics so people can see what a good screen is supposed to look like. Mine is so bogus even colors beside white shift on angles. Horrible. But I know good screens are out there. Still we both have a different screen, my perspective means nothing to someone with a good screen. I just keep seeing people post that the blue screen isn't a issue. And if course it's not if you don't have one. Not meant to be personal

Tell them and quote google said "blue shift only visible at sharp angles" and tell them your display is blue at shallow angles almost straight on. BIG DIFFERENCE.
I was unable to rma my phone for the blue display - the cs rep told me it was functioning as intended. I told him I was going to return it so he emailed me the label and I packed it up and ordered another unit. It shipped right away, maybe 1 or 2 days. He asked for a pic which I didn't have and didn't feel like taking since it was late and I had a very early day coming up. i don't think it would have mattered.

screen replacement

Can anyone guide me from where i should replace my s9 screen which got cracked accidentally.. or how much its gonna cost me in india..
I did try in service center where they told me around 16000 rs... So should I replace the screen or should I leave it or buy a new phone... Any suggestions will be very helpful...
If you don't mind a bit of work you can replace just the glass fairly cheaply provided you're careful not to damage the display:
https://youtu.be/67TvQWQs-48
The entire display assembly costs ten times as much as just the glass (as much as the phone itself) so you really need to be careful.
Years ago I ordered front & back glass to repair a Nexus 5 but failed dismally when I cracked the display while prying the brown glass off.
Watch the video & see what you think, if you can sell it a new phone might be easier, good luck!

Will see if it gonna fit my budget
probably not worth it unless you know someone who can give you a deal. maybe look at some mid-ship phones as a replacement as the cost to repair is going to be prohibitive.
