Cant enter into download mode (left top corner: boot certification verify note) - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i have messed up a bit while rooting my LG G3 but finally everything went smooth and i even had TWRP installed (hurray!). But now i need to go to stock because i need to get my phone fixed on warranty. The problem is that when i press Volume Up and plug in USB cable i see on screen: download mode, in the left top corner there are some little words "boot certification verify..." and then everything goes black and there is no 2nd step Download Mode screen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_1YLCfv630
If you enter this video you will understand me. I can see the images which are in 1:03, but right after everything is black and i do not see "Firmware update" images in 1:14.
How can i fix it?

I made the exact same thread not long ago but NO ONE helped, sadly...
Got the exact same problem as you, I got no choice but to send back my phone for repair!
I completely messed up my bootloader... I tried reflashing etc, it even got worse (no TWRP, nothing, DEAD)
On the report they wrote "flash failed" and they eventually replaced the PCB (the main board).
Was lucky that they didn't charge me anything haha
either they didn't know anything, or they were nice with me lol
If ever you send for repair, Just don't mention you flashed or rooted or whatsoever lol ...

[Q] Screen Issues Lead To Bricked Device

I was trying out using a keyboard with a cheap USB OTG cable, and all was good. Then all of the sudden the screen went buggy, where ever other line of pixels was shifted to the left or the right, almost like some sort of corrupted video file. It started to reboot itself, and it got to the black screen with the Google logo and then the screen fuzzed in the same way as before. It then starts to reboot and does the same thing over and over again. I find that I can get to the recovery screen with the scroll arrows. From there, if I tell it to reboot into recovery it goes back into the same Google logo bootloop. I then went back to the original recovery screen and I decide to try out adb to see if it works. Sure enough it does, and I unwisely start flashing a stock 4.2 bootloader image. However, while it is flashing the screen does the same fuzz thing and and stays fuzzed. Then it doesn't respond to anything. I take out the battery, and try to restart and with will not turn on at all, no vibration, no light from the screen, nothing. I tried a unbricking methods from there, and nothing can make it come back alive. Any ideas?

[Q] Can't boot to recovery or download mode

It is a long story, started with wanting Photoshare App. After rooting using Odin got into all sort of process stopped error. Desperate, downloaded and tried to flash CM10 using CWM. All I got was CM logo circling endlessly for 30 minutes. Pulled the plug and now, I seem to have a brick, can't even boot to recovery or download mode. When I try to boot to downlad mode, the warning screen appears for just a second and goes away. When I try recovery mode Samsumg log appears and then blank.
Is there anything I can do at this point? I appreciate any help I can get.

Hm. if you boot up your phone are you stuck at the cm bootup? If you are im sorry bro you cant fix it for free by sending it to samsung. JTAG for 60 bucks or samsung for 60 bucks. Reason being that it shows that you have rooted and modded your device. If you were hardbricked and nothing would turn on at all you would be able to send it to samsung and get it fixed for free!
Well if it shows Download mode then it might be working, just not showing, if you see a blue ID:COM number in Odin its working. Try to flash a stock ROM in Odin while in Download mode and make sure its in PDA or you will brick. Check only Auto-Reboot and F. Reset time.
If it works congrats if not search this forum for a service called JTAG which repairs bricks.

A little update ...
I was able to get to download mode after many trys and got back to stock -- unrooted. I should have stopped when I was ahead, but I was feeling invincible after this feat of reviving the phone and that was really stupid.
I wanted to root and flash CM10 nightly. I followed the instructions from http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32486-gu...m10-nightlies-without-k-exec-updated-8-18-12/. After unlocking the bootloader step, I wanted to backup the stock ROM I had on the phone -- I don't know why I wanted to do that as I had just flashed the stock and didn't have anything customized. Anyway, when I clicked backup from CWM everything died, kaput, nothing. I have been desperately holding the power button, reovery combination of buttons, download mode combination, anything I can think of, the phone is giving me the total silent treatment, which BTW I am used from a more human source.
Let me know if there is anything I can do, perhaps stand on one leg and try switching it on perhaps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
Sorry for the dumb jokes, I am a little frustrated, but I am sure I will get over it.
Thanks for those who took interest to read my question and those who cared to respond, I appreciate it....
Cheers!
are you getting any signs of life with the phone plugged in with or without the battery in?

Best advice...take out the battery, leave for 1-2 hours, insert battery, try to access download, flash stock in odin, reboot, don't flash any more Jelly Bean roms. lol

[Q] Stuck in the google logo screen

hello people
the tablet became unresponsive to touch, hung by power, and then it is locked on the screen with the logo of google.
he enters the "fastboot" (Power + V down), but does not go into "recovery mode".
When you select the "recovery mode", but the tablet restarts back to the screen of google.
I did the steps with the "fastboot" by cmd, he said all right, but after restarting returns to the logo of google.
I did the procedure with the Nexus Root Toolkit, in (back to stock) option ... all steps are given as "OK" .... but again the google logo screen.
after several hours trying, android booted out of nowhere ... but again without running the touch ... rebooted again, and so far there is still only showing the logo of google.
I saw that there are several other topics with the same problem but in my case, nor the recovery works ...
anyone have an idea of what can be?
asus RMA does not cover my country ...
I read that some cases that is the motherboard tablet ... someone has more knowledge?
sorry for my bad english

hi guys, I have the same problem
It must be something with the bootlaoder since the google logo is part of the bootloader and recovery. Fortunately it is possible to flash a new os, bootloader, recovery and kernel at the same time. See this thread (not the first few pages but the ones after) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546558
sent from my nex7
I had LITERALLY the very same problem, and ended up having to RMA to Asus, where they had to replace the motherboard. They said the problem was caused by a LED (Error) Indicator. Not sure what that means exactly, but it was a physical issue with the board (I had a remanufactured device). I was able to get into fastboot just like you. ADB would recognize, I tried pushing images like you, everything completed ok, and it would not budge. When I selected Recovery from the Fastboot menu, it would just reboot and lock at the image again. Not sure a software fix is going to work for you. (I assume if possible, Asus would have saved themselves the cost of replacing the whole board.)

[Q] Phone boots into Firmware Update

I flashed the stock firmware onto my phone, and all was going well until it turned itself off. It then rebooted into Download Mode, and got itself stuck on 'Firmware Update'. I pulled the battery, rebooted and it went from the LG logo straight to the Firmware Update screen. I've tried going into recovery (which works, but pressing yes OR no still takes it to Firmware update. Going into download mode doesn't work either.
I tried to re-flash it using the LGFlashTool, but my PC can't find the phone in this state. I bought it off a guy on eBay 4 months ago, and it worked fine until the first sentence of this post happened.
EDIT: it's the international D855. The Firmware Update screen says '910K B0 QEM'

Thats not actually right
Booting into recovery normally should factory reset the phone. Would you be able to post a picture of the firmware update screen

I tried it then. When I do it, I get the normal 'No (Exit)' and 'Yes' and then the same thing to confirm it. It then goes to the LG logo, and boom! Firmware Update!
I don't have a camera (stupid, I know) but, if you boot into download mode, it looks just like the screen there. Except it shows '910K B(0-99) QEM' in the update box thingo.
Hi, i have the exactly same problem, even if i try to power up the device normally or in download more it goes directly in to firmware update. Any way to fix it or install LGE MTP Driver so my PC will see my phone in order to flash it again?
LE: Video
I have run into the same problem like you guys. I recently updated my phone and it started to malfunction with resets, crashing and eventually got it stuck in boot loop. Then it booted into a green screen that said "demigod crash handler/tz crash" thrice. Instead of a hard reset I decided to using the lg mobile support tool to fix it. During the upgrade recovery my phone went into download mode/firmware update. I could see the progress bar moving and then get stuck and my mobile would switch off. Took out the battery, disconnected and reconnected the phone and tried the process all over again but in vain. I repeated this at least 8 times and eventually gave up. Now my phone is basically useless and only boots into firmware update. Hard reset doesn't work either. Can somebody please help me fix this?
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM :crying:
910k b0 qem
I tried to flash TOT file and it kept failing around 10%. I read somewhere that I should select the "Flash Board" option so I did. This also failed and left my phone booting to "Firmware Update" screen with following text in the gray box at the bottom.
910K B0 QEM
Windows no longer recognizes the devices and fails to install drivers.
I believe that what is required here is the "910K resistor flash cable"
Something like this ebay[dot]com/itm/OCTOPUS-Z3X-MICRO-USB-LG-P970-P990-P999-CABLE-56K-130K-910K-VARIABLE-RESISTOR-/131321398015
Can someone confirm or offer a solution?
P.S. This 10 post URL limit has got to go!

It is possible you flashed the wrong KDZ or TOT file
You can also try to hold the power button and wait untill the LG logo appears
anyone have any luck? Im stuck in this mode also

Chinese M9 bootlooping after OTA

Hi All,
Really hoping someone can suggest a possible solution for this one, only had the phone a few months!
So, Chinese released M9. Unlocked. Stock recovery, not rooted. Gapps installled.
Everything perfect, then today I got the 5.1 update.
Seemed like a slightly iffy install process...looked a little like it failed a couple of times and tried again.
Finally finished, the phone shows the white screen with the one logo, takes a while, opens on the desktop and turns off, back to the white screen with the logo.
I have been able to boot into safe mode, which is stable
I have been able to get to download mode and bootloader. Neither of these offer a cache wipe or a factory reset.
I have not been able to get into recovery mode, it shows a phone with a red triangle and an exclamation point.
So for my (largely uneducated) part I have two theories for the cause:
1) Gapps is somehow proving a problem, either faulting the install or causing a fatal error on startup
2) Since the update was notified and downloaded while on a VPN via Hong Kong, I wonder if I accidentally ended up with the HK version in which case I suspect there may be hardware differences (at least the radio). This seems unlikely, I would hope there were enough checks in place to prevent this happening.
No solid idea where to go from here. I have not yet tried ADB access, but even if I can connect, what will I do? Flash a new ROM? I'd rather not. And surely I'd need to root in order to do that....
At a loss, any potential solutions welcomed whole heartedly!
Thanks...
Booting into safe mode, but not booting otherwise, indicates a problem with some app or rom setting.
You're probably going to need to do a factory reset, but that's odd that it doesn't show up in bootloader or download mode. Have you tried the options in stock recovery (which is that screen with the red triangle)? Use the volume keys to change options.
Hi iElvis - the screen with the red triangle - there's nothing other than the red triangle, no options, no text and nothing happens if I press any of the physical buttons.
Trying a factory reset from safe mode - I'll let you know what happens!

Hmm. It would seem the Chinese models are set up differently, which would not surprise me at all.
