Is the back of Z5P glass or plastic? - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The back of z5 premium seems to get scratches faster than the front screen?, does someone know the diffrence between those 2?

One characteristic of glass is that it is only scratched by diamond...

That would only apply to sapphire, but yes, it is glass. I had mine for a month now, no scratches.

Not unscratchable. It pickes up crazy scratches with a screwdriver but not with keys or anything like that.

I think it would be possible.but you would need to remove digitizer without damaging it,then remove upper glass, fit the gorilla glass then put the digitizer back.the upper glass has nothing to do with the digitizer unless they are completely glued together.and it would be really hard,or maybie impossible if you have a gt-i5801,because there are no hard buttons, and touch buttons are in one piece with the glass.

the "upper glass" is the digitizer

Nice video, how about try that on the camera lens to see if it is made of gorilla glass to?
What about the body? I've seen Gorilla glass tests before, but this new hardened plastic thing is another issue.

Can you please share where you got it? I guess you had to cut it to fit the lens on the One X?
I don't want to use a gel case on the phone, but it is my only way currently to protect the lens.

ohhhh my mistake! I have nothing protecting the lense on the one x at the moment. I thought you meant the lense on the dslr i used to film it. But yeah i see the problem...i might end up butchering a screen protector for it
impressive part 2, i wonder if the the grey version's backside would survive

Scratched my s3 screen :(

Hi guys,
As the topic states, I noticed last week while cleaning my screen I have a scratch around 1 inch on the top left... No idea how it happened. With my S2 I dropped it several times on the floor and it's still clean as new. Any tip to the scratch?
Thanks
You can buy a screen protector which usually fills in the scratch so it's not noticeable and protects against future scratches!

Meh I never thought gorilla glass 2 would be scratchable, my s2 didn't have a single scratch. Which protector is recommanded?, ebay, invisible shield, bodyguard?

im with you, ever since the first galaxy ive never experienced a scratch.. till now, its sad, i have like 2 tiny scratches.. ive just been real careless with my phone lately =/
Armor Suit has worked really well for me. If you give it a 5 start rating after purchasing it on Amazon, they usually ship you a free extra protector.

How does the armorSuit shield feel when you touch it? is it like the invisible shield or an ebay protector? I never thought I would have to use a protector again
most of the scratches are on the oleophobic coating. You can try this to see if it gets restored.

I say just live with it. In one year will you care? You will get the galaxy s4. Its just a phone. The android OS will outgrow it and when it becomes slow you. I just saw a scratch on my s3 today. I'm not crying about it. My s2 had a scratch too. These screens do scratch I dont care how careful you are. :good:

I know its damn annoying, and I feel for you mate, but thats not too serious.
Gorilla glass is not resistant to scratches. Its just harder to break.
Ouchies. I have chips on the side where the glass wraps wrong but at least they're not in view when using it.

You might want to.check your facts. It has a hardness greater then most glass.
