Flashing new OTA update (MRA58K.H8) - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the OTA is out here. I have unrooted GPE flashed with TWRP, and this update won't install without stock recovery. Is it ok if I flash this update with TWRP recovery just like the GPE edition before hand?

You cant directly flash an OTA. Use the ROM here:

OTA requires stock recovery to install.
TWRP is a custom recovery, no reason to think an official OTA would be compatible with TWRP.

[Q] Upgrade to 4.4.3 from Stock 4.4.2 with TWRP Recovery

I am S-ON and looking to upgrade from stock 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 but have TWRP recovery. Can anyone recommend the easiest way to do this? I keep getting the OTA system update prompt, which I downloaded, would I be able to just flash that zip using TWRP? Thanks

You need stock recovery, not TWRP.

So the easiest way would just be flash stock recovery, then do the OTA update
Yes, but if it doesn't work, you'll need to flash a stock ROM. Some apps are removed when you unlock at that makes the OTA fail.

[Q]How to update from 2.22.401.4 to 2.22.401.5 with stock rooted M8?

I'm on stock rooted Sense --401.4 and I want to update to --401.5 version. I have s-off, and custom recovery, and am rooted.
Although I have a constant "system update" notification on my notification bar, I really cannot update because of the custom recovery. Is there any fully stock version of the latest ROM available which I can flash to update? Mike1986 hasn't provided it yet. Is there any other way to update easily? I really don't want to switch to custom ROMs for the update, and I really don't want to factory reset my phone right now.
Is there any way we can flash OTA update .zips? If yes, I really cannot find them on XDA, so can anyone guide me to them (and a guide on how to flash them?). Thank you.
You can flash stock recovery.img and then perform Update. İ tried and it is working. But you lose root. After Update Flash Custom recovery and supersu zip.

[Q] Flashing firmware?

I just got my HTC One m8 after my last one was stolen. I had unlocked, flashed custom recovery, and flashed a custom ROM to my old one. But now it seems there is some firmware obstacle to flash custom recoveries now?
So far, I have unlocked my bootloader and flashed a custom recovery (TWRP). Now I would like to flash a custom ROM. I am running the stock obviously and there is an update available. I downloaded the update (which I'm assuming is this updated firmware?) and it is saved to my phone. Now, do I just flash the zip file through TWRP?
I hope you understand and thank you for your help.

no you can't flash the update with TWRP. you need stock recovery, you should have updated the phone before unlocking it
now you have to start over from scratch to take the OTA.
you need stock nandroid + stock recovery for your phone ... look here >>

i would just install the firmware from the OTA that is available in the dev section. If you want to go stock, you can flash santod's stock rom and it will be the equivalent as if you got the OTA from VZW
I'm already on stock I'm just rooted with a custom recovery. So install that using TWRP?

Question OTA Update after TWRP

Hello, I want to flash TWRP on my SM-G990B. But I'm not planning to flash any rom/gsi yet and more likely to stay in stock OneUI. If I get an OTA update will that install if I have TWRP installed as recovery?
I wondering too
