Hi,
I'm in the Philippines. I bought a Note N7105 last week (not from my provider) and installed 4.1.2 with baseband N7105DXDLL1. All good until a few days ago I received my LTE card from GLOBE Telcom.
Now I have a problem. I can make calls and send SMS using the card but when I try to enable data services it tells me "Insert SIM Card to access Data Services", and will not enable data or let me see anything under "Mobile Networks".
I have tried a different Globe LTE SIM card (my son's) and the same thing happens.
If I put this LTE SIM into my Galaxy S II (Baseband = I9100XXLPX), it runs fine (but 3G of course). So it's not a faulty SIM card.
I was wondering if the problem might be the modem ? Any ideas ?

Have you try changing network mode under settings - wireless (more) - mobile network - network mode
If you set it to utms/wcdma doest it works?
(Sorry I just assuming and here in India we don't have lte and never seen menu of mobile network in lte version)

When the SIM is inserted, the whole mobile settings menu becomes unavailable, because the phone thinks no SIM is inserted (even though calls and SMS works).
UtkarshGupta suggests its the APN not the modem so I'll look into that too.
For now, I have a new problem - the SIM slot is broken, due to using one of those stupid Nano adapters, because my provider does not have micro SIMs. So until I get that replaced, I can't try anything !

I'm from the philippines just as you. I'm also using globe's LTE and recently have bought a note 2 (N7105). My note 2 works perfectly. But a few days ago, my friend who was interested in getting the same phone that I have, decided to buy one. We went to the same store hot gadgets to buy another phone exactly like mine N7105. We encountered the same problem as you. All other simcards would work except for my Globe LTE sim. It seems like its a new batch of note 2s from their supplier abroad. What i noticed about the new batch that arrived is that it was previously locked to a foreign network and just unlocked. the box also has a "cityzi" logo which is a carrier in france. the seller claims that all their units are locked and just unlocked.
but i believe that the batch i got was factory unlocked in the first place because there is no logo on the box and no logo when starting up and turning off the phone.
I have a feeling that it may be a firmware related problem. what i would like to ask if you have tried updating the phone to the current DMC3 firmware. you can read up about it.
there is a forum on tipid cp on n7105 sadly im just a new user on xda so i cant post the link. just search for it.
if you check sammobile.com there is an n7105 firmware for the philippines. im not sure if flashing it with this new firm ware would fix the problem. i flashed my phone with it and it worked fine but im not sure if a previously locked phone would create problems when updating firmware. maybe some people in the forum could help. thanks.

First I want to thank you for pointing out that only XXDMC3 will work with GLOBE LTE.
I think it is the SIM card itself because I have an AT&T i317 Galaxy note 2. First I wasn't able to get it to work. Same issues with you. Can call, text, but will not allow me to access mobile services.
I also tried flashing it with the modem from here (XXDMC3 (Philippines / Globe) N7105DXDMC1_modem_GLB) you can use this modem if you have the N7105
I misread the instructions and had a bootloop. But was able to reflash the stock AT&t firmware.
So instead of going that route, I downloaded this International ROM for ATT Galaxy note 2 As it is already XXDMC3 baseband.
It works very well. But I still have to wait for the activation of my LTE to see if that really works. But now I can access the menu's and H+ works on my phone.
This is using the Stock AT&T Modem.
I hope this helps folks with international phones and want it to work with GLOBE LTE.. =)

This firmware works fine with globe, but not so sure about Smart. A Smart prepaid SIM works fine, but a postpaid SIM does not work at all, not even for calling / texting. Smart are unable to explain why this would be the case. They made up some BS story about the phone being locked to Globe (a 7105 International edition !!) I was not able to test it fully because I sold the phone, so I can't say for sure it was a firmware issue. But we tried several Smart postpaid SIMS and all did not work. Just throwing it out there.

I will be traveling soon overseas and I was hoping to swap out my SIM card for one to use locally. I already have the unlock code from AT&T and was wondering if that would actually work or not. By what I have read, I have my doubts.
I am running CM 10.1.2 (Android 4.2.2). I have heard that the LTE phones (which this is being on AT&T's 4G network) running CM will not let you enter the unlock codes once you've inserted a new SIM.
I don't know if entering *#*#4636#*#* and switching my network type to something besides LTE/GSM auto (PRL) would help or not. If somebody could give me some kind of definitive answer about this, I'd appreciate it so I don't waste my time trying to pick up the SIM card at the airport.

I'm subscribing, as I'd like to know, too. I unlocked when I was using a stock touchwiz rom, so this wasn't an issue, but it's good info to know.

My brother is currently trying to Unlock my old GS3.. Have you had any luck with this? It has CM10 and he wants it on T-Mobile. Would flashing a stock ROM solve all of this?

[Q] 3g not working

hi guys.I bought my ascend p6 in mauritius and I used 3G in mauritius as well as in India..Now I am in china using china mobile.I am not getting 3G anymore in this sim.I tried the same sim in a friends phone and he is getting 3G. Is it some software issue which we can solve ?? any idea?I tried flashing many new firmwares as well..no change ..just 2G.
I never changed my kernal..any idea wil it help?

Try changing settings
If you have a stock based firmware goto settings>Mobile Networks then make sure "Use only 2g is not enabled" and or then check your network operators and make sure you select a 3g variant of your current network, if you have custom firmware the process shouldn't be too different. Hope that helps.

I definitely tried that... No help. Tried both in stock rom as well as others..

Yup.. I did.. Plus I am using 2g here and the apn is the same for 3g too. Forget about Internet.. Atleast signal should be shown when I put into 3g only mode.

I did that.. Still the same.. No use.. And i should remind u this problem is there for all of my friends who has bought their phones outside China and are using China Sim cards... I cant understand what could be the reason. Not just Huawei, Sony Samsung.. Every phone has the same issue..

It could be that the service provider (company who's sim you are using) locked their 3g service to phone's they provide, you should try to contact their support about the issue, or google how to unlock 3g service (your current provider)
or they could also have locked 3g capabilities as a pay-for-use service , (ie you pay x amount then 3g service is unlocked)

I checked whether the 3g is activated in my Sim.. It is.. They have some kind of loch where any mobile which is bought from China can catch the 3g network, but phones purchased outside the country are unable to.. I have no idea.. What have they done for that or why have they done that too...
And my friend the worst thing here is that Google is blocked... I still managed to search about it using other search engines but no one seems to know what it is.. They have simply told to change to a different network ( China unicom-in that 3g works with any phone.). That's all the solution they have got.

Hi guys.. I finally figured it out.. Internationally the Huawei phones are gsm/wcdma.. But in China the network commonly used is td cmda. That's the reason I was not getting 3g over here.. This is a hardware issue I believe and nothing can be done by the software developers.. Sad ending.

Try *#*#4636#*#* (if you're running 4.4) from the dialer. Then choose "device information" (or something like that. It's the first option). At the bottom there should be something that says something similar to "establish connection type". You can choose CDMA from there.

HTC One's MVNO Setting

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone know how to access the MVNO setting (mobile virtual network operator type) within APN of the HTC One M8.
I live in Australia and currently on the Virgin Mobile Network which is a MVNO of Optus. I was on a M7 and recently bought a M8 off a friend for cheap. However when I have installed the nano SIM, I can only make calls and texts and could not get the internet to work even when the APN settings are correct. I took it to the Virgin Mobile store and they have also tried playing around with the APN settings with no luck.
The odd thing is that when I remove the SIM card and place it in another phone it doesn't work on the other phone either . But when I try place a SIM card from another carrier (Telstra) into my M8 it works fine. Virgin Mobile has issued me a new nano SIM and I did the same tests and got the same results which is really odd. Virgin Mobile has also checked on their system and confirmed to me that internet is ACTIVE.
I've been reading around and the only other solution I can think of is accessing the MVNO setting and changing in to IMSI in hope it works. If anyone could please tell me how to access MVNO on the M8 it would be much appreciated.

I just checked on my phone under mobile networks > APNs and at the very bottom I get the option to choose the MVNO type and value, so the only thing I can suggest is making a twrp backup of your current arhd and flashing another rom with that option (since it's not appearing on the one you're using).
The rom I'm on right now is Dirty Unicorns.

Thanks for your help. I managed to solve the issue. It was simply a bad imei, changing it did the trick.

I need to try to this my imei number is no goodfrom the previous owner whofiled it lost when he thought it had been stolen yet lucky me it showed up a day after he the replacement did for the HTC One Max????? (HTC6600LVW) yet I am sticking with my Galaxy Note 3 as the 200 difference from the CPU is a great deal when being held next to each other... So I've decided to sell it to my roommate who uses metro pcs told her to buy an unlock pin for her SIM card to work. I read about rooting the phones but being that it is not mine I'm not lying to the poor girl am I?

I've doubled check the LTE bands and it's compatible here in Saudi Arabia
I tried to enter the code *#*#4636#*#* and open the phone information menu but I get "This Application does not work on this device"
I tried some apps from the market but with no luck .
does anyone got an idea or a fix for that, I really like the phone and I hate to return it since it's crucial feature to me

i got the same problem, im here in abu dhabi and i cant see the 4g icon or h+

I also do not get 4g LTE even though my model is supposed to support the band's of LTE my network uses. It's a shame but them again he speeds I get on HSPA+ are really not that bad. I think I will learn to live with it. Hopefully someone can come up with a way to enable more bands or unlock something that is blocking 4g. When I do connect to 4g LTE I can't send text messages so that's a no go.

The code is 277634#*#
Make sure you got the obvious set - network mode set to edge/wcdma/lte
Make sure provider data plan allows 4g, some plans/packages are restricted to 3g.

Well, I've tried everything.
At the end I've changed my sim card to a new one. It didn't work in the beginning but in a day or so it got LTE.

I updated my LG G4 yesterday and i have a similar issue. the difference is i cannot connect to the 4G network. After i enable mobile data, nothing happens and i dont see the 4G sign. How did you get past this, did you factory reset or is there another way?

happened to me, flashed v10g and now I have 3g+, h+, and 4g off course
edit : ok, I just figured this out, only software version v 10g OPT2 -H and v20e OPT2 -HQ have 3g+ and h+

How did you flash it? Do you have instructions i can follow?
Android version is 6.0, Kernel Version 3.10.84, software version US991120c.

Mine did the same. Go to "settings", then "networks", then "more", then scroll down to "mobile networks", then "system select". I switched from 'Global" to "LTE/CDMA" My lg g4 now says 4g lte

Pls help me fix my LG G3 issue. I can send messages and calls but cannot connect to the internet. No H+ or 4G sign on the network icon even I'm on internet settings. The issue even I changed my sim card.
