Trying to root phone don't kn ow to much about this accidentally downloaded a virus . - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an LG G3 D852 I tried to root it last night and I downloaded a virus I factory reset my phone and now I am ready to try again if anyone has any safer ideas I used stump root and it just started making a super loud noise is that normal it was like a siren and I didn't push accept or download or anything . What is an different program that has worked for anyone .

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
In regards to stump root, have a look at this thread as it may be helpful: [Root] Stump Root for LG Devices (2012 - 2014) Big update 1.2.0
Assuming that you've followed the instructions provided, you may have to double check where you have downloaded the root app from and whether the app is compatible with your phone's current firmware.
Good Luck! - gsstudios

As the app is discontinued, a different app/method may have to be used for your android firmware. This thread will be moved to the G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting so proper assistance will be given regarding to root. It may help others if you can give your baseband version, android version and model number (in about phone in phone settings) so accurate help can be given.

As long as it is the Canadian LG G3 D852 model, the carrier doesn't matter at all. I will leave this thread so that the experts here can help you out, as they will know what to do.

Hi again,
I too don't understand the significance of the 10B/C, but I assume it has something to do with the bootloader (users correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore, if you've updated your firmware, the bootloader can also be changed as well, which means this root method may not work (as it was last updated mid 2014). I don't know how to check the bootloader version as I do not have a LG G3, I hope someone else will be able to help you out with this.

Ok thanks again what would happen if i just tried it would it damage my phone severly if not comoatible like meaning worse then a factory reboot couldnt fix

I think it would be better to use this method: [Guide]LG One Click Root - root LG firmwares (KitKat / Lollipop) or this method: [GUIDE][ROOT] Newest Root Method for LG devices. You are on lollipop so stump root will not work.

These apps/methods are to root your device from an unrooted state. If your device was previously rooted, it states that you will have to fully unroot it in SuperSU (in your case, your phone is still unrooted).

did you try old method by which we can root n get into recovery mode through CWM ? and can you upload some screenshot ? are the 80charcters restricitons exits in this .kdz file?
Yeehaaa... Guys I've just installed the ROM I shared earlier. It's great. It's exactly 186 JB 4.1.2 with most bloatware removed and is in Vietnamese, Korean and English though it's not completely English (ringtones, task manager etc. are in Korean). SMS Characters limit is at 160. Music player, Camera, Lockscreen everything is great and revamped!!! HANGOUTS (former TALK) is missing though. Also it comes with SupersSU (Not Pro), RootExplorer, Rebooter and ScreenOff (I don't know what is it). The thing I didn't like is that on Boot screen it shows ICS Engineer version. :s
Theme is still Light Colored so I can just pray somebody change it to pure English and Dark JB theme.

[Q] Helvetica for LG G3

Hi,
I've got a wonderful LG G3 running Lollipop.
I was wondering - could I somehow (without root, I guess, as root isn't out for Lollipop yet) put the Helvetica font on my phone, and use that?
I've looked in the SmartWorld app, but none of the fonts in there comes even close.
Hope to get some great response!

No. But this is why you should install a Kitkat kdz, root and then a L Rom. Skin1980 patched also the 20a stock kernel. Look in the G3 Android development thread.

agree it will come but the few weeks thingy (for ALL the goodies ) is quite optimistic considering how long it took for the 3 be able to be unlocked which for me is the main goody. from there anything is possible, without too many limitations are enforced IMO.
