If i root my htc g2 will it fix the req of the sim network code - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi , I just get a t-mobile HTC g2 as a gift , and after I factory reset it and I got a problem , I insert a new sim card and it request a sim network code !! And I had sent a message to T-Mobile too but they need me to get the phone owners to contact them to get the code !! If I root the phone and flash a new room , will it Fox my problem ??

Yes it should

Flashing a new rom will fix the probem because the network lock on android devices is firmware based. Some sites on the internet provide these codes, tough.

setup not starting

Hi Guys
I just bought a "new" Nexus from a phone unlocking shop. It is new but was started and may have been unlocked (i think). It is from an Irish mobile operator but the OS version is EU so im guessing it was originally sim free. Im not familiar with the Nexus as I own a HTC Sensation which ive rooted and flashed many custom roms on. The problem is when i start the phone with or without a sim im not asked for a sim password nor do i get any message saying there is no sim inserted. I can search for network but cant connect. Says "service not available at this time". I assume that the sim is not seen. I dont want to root and flash a custom as it is a present for a friend.
I dont have time to return to the shop when i bought it as its a present i need to give tomorrow.
Anyone got any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks in advance

[Q] [SOLVED] Sim lock or sim card problem ?

Hi !
I just started to play with a Wildfire S sim locked by Orange (Cid : ORANG202).
I unlocked it (but it's still S-ON) and flashed successfully several custom roms (Marvellous CM10, CyanogenMod 10.1, AceOne 2.2).
Then I installed a Free Mobile's sim card. The phone only asked me for the sim card code pin, it was accepted, it but I had no network at all. Note that this sim card works in another phone.
I thought it was a simlock problem, that's why I asked Orange for the unlock code, they gave it to me but ...
My problem now is that the phone NEVER asked me for a network unlock code. I have no network. Some roms display a red cross on the sim card icon on the top bar.
Does someone know what's going wrong ?
I finally got it working after flashing nearly stock rom. The phone finally asked me for a network unlock code !
Thank you for your help guys :silly:

Can't unlock SIM with unoffical ROM !

I have a Tmobile UK phone running a Cyogen ROM. I want to move to different network (GifGaf), but upon inserting the SIM the phone requires unlocking. I've got the codes for unlocking, but they don't work. After a bit of search it appears that I can only unlock my S4 mini with the official ROM installed which I must admit surprised me.
Therefore does anyone know where I can find an official Tmobile ROM for a UK S4 mini ?
Hi !
You have all firmwares you want at "Sammobile" (internet site) ,it's official and you must be registered for to download ,it's free (with slow download)
It's a known problem...impossible to unlock sim with customs by "classical" way (and i don't know if it's possible by hack)
In theory, you can flash again a custom recovery and after a cystom rom without loose sim unlock...
Be careful !!!!! Don't loose the number of sim unlock !!! Because if you want to flash customised firmware (ste ,N5...) => there are chance that the phone will be relocked at your T-mobile !
I don't know exactly but it's a possibility because i have see that on a old S2 updated with officials => it loose sim unlock after .
Thanks for the info.
Do you know if its possible to re-install the official ROM using Cynogen recovery or do I need to replace that also?
Reason I ask is that I tried installing the official ROM last night in Cynogen recovery and it aborted almost immediately.

No service/SIM card not being registered

Hello.
I'm from Portugal and bought an HTC 10 wich is locked to T-Mobile.
Already got unlock code for it but i insert a portuguese network sim card and i never get the message to place the unlock code.
I checked the IMEI at T-Mobile website and it shows : Your device is blocked and will not work on T-Mobile’s network.
Already unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone, thought that would be enough to overcome the T-Mobile app ( wich is to unlock the phone for the network ).
Any tips or comments on how i can solve this issue and use the phone with another sim card?
Thanks in advance
