Galaxy Tab S lte (AT&T model) chipset/processor speed??????? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, did my antutu bench mark test today for s&g`s and seen that it came up with the Exynos 5 octa- core chip set instead of the Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 (S800). So I ran CPU-Z app and it showed the same. I thought that the lte versions (T807a) were suppose to have the S800? Am I correct or are the apps giving me wrong info? Also the S800 should be the faster of the 2 correct? Thanks and curious about the answer.

Can the Desire do 5.76mbps HSUPA?

I noticed that according to Qualcomm's press release
http://www.qualcomm.com/news/releas...first-chipset-solutions-break-gigahertz-barri
Snapdragon processor does 5.76mbps HSUPA by default.
The Desire is only set to Catagory 5 HSUPA which is 2mbps.
Can 5.76mbps be enabled???
I noticed in /system/build.prop you can change the HSDPA/HSUPA catagory settings
Samsung Galaxy S doesn't have Snapdragon, it has Hummingbird.
Just for information; made some tests with speedtest app on a cpl of servers, max download speed I could see was 4,6 mbit/s (my location Gothenburg/Swe, test server Aarhus/Denmark) and upload speed was appr 1 mbit/s, that was the highest speeds i hv reached by far. Hv no any clue abt technical details in terms of hsdpa, hsupa or whatever hw configuration built in my phone (Desire, network: 3 Sweden)

The Desire is only 2MB HSUPA capable. Honestly, that's massive uplink for a phone.

Sorry but my diamond1 and my old touch pro both have 7.2Mbit HSDPA, as does the desire. So 2Mbit is not that massive ever since 2006, yeah I had a TyTN too
We are talking about UPLOAD (7.2Mbit is download).

I noticed in /sys/build.prop you can change the HSDPA/HSUPA catagory settings, however even though I edit mine, the settings appear to be overwritten every time at startup. (android 2.1)

for starters the galaxy s has a hummingbird processor, thats an omap chip not an arm cpu like the snapdragon and 5 or 2 mbps unless you was sat directly under an empty cell tower that you had all to yourself you wont get anything ike that so it dosent matter lol
sorry my bad, lost my lenses
anyway is there a network with 5 mbit uplink, I'll be switching
I tought omap is texas instruments and they manufacture and modify arm cpu architecture, is that right?
I have 6.2Mbit DL and up-to 1.3Mbit upload here
Whoops... to clarify... I incorrectly mentioned the Galaxy S...
What I meant to say was, according to Qualcomm's own press release (see my revised post above)
"The QSD8250 supports HSPA data rates of up to 7.2 Mbps on the downlink and 5.76 on the uplink, with full backward compatibility"

OMAP is an ARM CPU, too. ARM is the underlying architecture.

Both the hummingbird and the Snapdragon are ARM7 instruction set processors.
If anything, the Hummingbird is an ARM CPU, and the Snapdragon is not, because the Hummingbird is based on the ARM Cortex A8 CPU core which is an ARM7 processor, and the Snapdragon is a custom implementation of the ARM7 instruction set - it i not based on the Cortex A8 core, but does use the same instruction set.

[Q] SM-T705 is Exynos?

I've been meaning to purchase this tablet so I've been looking at the LTE variant.
I looked it up online on my local Samsung site (Malaysia) and I found out it has the Exynos chipset but with LTE. Are there two LTE variants or it's an error on sites like GSMArena? I also went to a physical store and looked at the retail box, on the back it clearly says "1.9 GHz Quad core + 1.3 GHz Quad core". The model number is SM-T705 which has the Snapdragon chipset according to most sites I go to.
EDIT: I went on the Samsung UK site and even the 4G variant sold there has the Exynos chip.

The T705 is an Exynos 5 SoC with Intel LTE Modem.
There is not currently a Qualcomm based Tab S model on the market, and it's unlikely that a Snapdragon version will be released.
Thanks.
I just bought it, in Bronze.

[q] galaxy tab s 8.4 lte cpu

HI,
I purchased a galaxy tab S 8.4 with LTE capabilities.
upon checking my CPU, all benchmarking tools pointed out that my CPU is a samsung exynos 5420 1.9ghz!
if I am not mistaken, this is the CPU of the WIFI only version.
I am suppose to get a Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHZ with my LTE version.
can anyone clarify on this? should I return it to the store and have them replace my unit with an appropriate specification?
thanks!

This had been answered many times. ...
I'll answer again. Your eyes don't lie.
At the moment, all international SGT-S 8.4 and 10.5 WIFI and LTE devices use the same Exynos processor + Mali GPU.
I have not yet seen any official Samsung website stating otherwise.
There may be some USA "carrier variant" using Snapdragon + Adreno though, but not seen any user post confirming device in hand.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Broadband LTE-A Worth buying?

Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Wif-Fi( Exynos 5 Octa (5420) ) still worth buying at £330/$515 or is there something better? I will be coming from the Shield which scores a mighty 29989 on Futuremark, however the 8" screen is not quite big enough otherwise it would be perfect. I read in some reviews the Tab S(FM:13364) can be sluggish at times, although I might install CM if available which could help with performance.
My other question is where can I buy the more powerful versions of this tablet, there is the Exynos 7 Octa (5433) and I believe there is also a snapdragon version. The Exynos 5 Octa (5420) version being sold in the UK has the lowest performance of the bunch.....
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Broadband LTE-A
Exynos 7 Octa (5433)
Up to 1.9 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 and 1.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53
Mali-T760
Futuremark score: 19850
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Wif-Fi
Exynos 5 Octa (5420)
Up to 1.9 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7
Mali-T628 MP6
Futuremark score: 13364
I've got the t805 which is the LTE version. It was a bit sluggish with touchwiz, but flies with CM12.1.
Support for the LTE modem is a bit sketchy in AOSP though, and there are more ROMs available for the Wi-Fi version.
PS. Screen is totally gorgeous.

Thanks, does your LTE have the Exynos 5 Octa (5420) chipset?
I've found the supercharged version of the Tab S 10.5" on sale in South Korea for £246/$384. This tablet is basically equivalent to the S2 except with a bigger & better screen. I've emailed them to see about shipping to the UK.

Where did you find them for that price? At those prices I would also be interested (I'm in Australia). Anyone else interested?
So far the best prices I've seen in South Korea for the 5433 Tab S were around USD600. The no-contract price on the Samsung South Korea website is 880,000 won (around USD750), and hasn't changed, so far, after the release of the S2. That's for the T805S, T805K and t805L versions, which I believe are the only ones with the Exynos 5433. The T805S was removed a few weeks ago from the Samsung South Korea website. The T805S/K/L versions are 10.5", 32GB, LTE-A, Exynos 5433, Bluetooth 4.1 (instead of 4.0), Titanium Bronze only.
In GFXBench, the 5433 gives around a 50% boost (T805S versus 5420). In Geekbench 3, the T805S (106 results) & T805K (13 results) single and multi-core is around 50-60% better on average than the T805 (2903) results, with the T805L (only 5 results) perhaps marginally less impressive, but not many tested. From the number of Geekbench results and from web searches, maybe there are many more T805S tablets floating around than the "K" & "L", even though Samsung's website now only sells the "K" & "L"..

How to determine the processor in Note 10.1?

From what I have read the Note 10.1 2014 edition has either a 1.9 GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 5420 SoC processor or a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC processor. How do you tell which CPU it has? I have a P600 (WiFi only). Do they all use the same CPU?
Back then in 2013 no Exynos processor had an LTE modem yet so Samsung has to use Qualcomm processors for that. This means, P600 (WiFi) and P601 (3G) models use the Exynos processor and P605 is the LTE model ie the one with Snapdragon 800. From what I've read online seems like the 800 offers slightly better battery life while the Exynos excels in webpage rendering/loading. Of course this is highly subjective since everything can be tweaked afterall. I have the WiFi model, on average it lasts around 4 days with up to 9 or 10 hours screen on time.
