Smart Switch Upgrade? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Whats up everyone. I just upgraded from a Nexus 6 to this phone on December 20th. Since I have messing with it I have had 2 minor software updates. I am on
Android: 5.1.1
Baseband: G928TUVS2COKC
Security: 2015-12-01
Build Number: LMY47X.G928TUVS2COKC
Then I plugged my phone into smart switch and immediately received this notification I have attached? I thought about doing the update but not sure what it will do to my phone.
Also figure if there was a major update we would be notified throught tmobile's software update website:

What do you guys think it is?

Right, I was tempted to do it hoping for marshmallow but I know I wouldn't be that lucky. I think I'm on the current version for the phone but I could be wrong.

Its just the latest update. Still 5.1.1
I'm running it for the last week and its a good update.
Smartswitch usually downloads the entire firmware, not a small OTA. When i updated via OTA it was about 70mb

I'm hoping it is not the preemptive changes that were made to the GNex to thwart the import ban(s)......
Is this something new? I picked up my GS3 on Saturday and walking out of the store after activation it prompted me for an update.

Yup its new today. It is a rolling update though so all phones haven't gotten it yet mine included. Should be updated within the next 4 days they are saying.

This. Hopefully they don't give in to Apple before they even begin targeting this phone.

Just got a notification on my phone about an OTA update. What is it?

My ATT S3 just notified me that I have an OTA update waiting. I postponed it because I don't know what it is. Anyone know what this update is?

Its more than likely the IMM76D.I747UCALH9 Build update. I just got that notification the other day as well.
Believe it's the update that allows Google wallet to work on the gs3. But not for sprint users. '

So is it safe to do? It doesn't hose anything or take away any features?
Just did it adds a couple of things like a brightness slider on the pull down shade. Also change the layout of somethings in the settings menu.
I downloaded the update a couple of weeks ago

I downloaded the update a couple of weeks ago...I didn't experience any issues. I just rooted the phone yesterday, so I had some time to work with it. Actually seemed like I got better battery life and the phone worked a little better. (Yeah, I know, hard to imagine, huh?)
Minor just adds a few small things

JB update for US coming Oct 25

Sent from my Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile network!
Nope.
Yo I just woke up and have a T-Mobile update. My phone is rooted. I can't just run the update can I ?
Sent from my GStree!
Nope it will fail...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yeah so I just paid for SuperSU pro so it would keep root after the OTA. Ran the OTA and everything seemed fine until I got this...
So I went and checked the load I had and it's the updated version LJ4. Any thoughts?

The source is out for the sprint version
I don't see it for the T-Mobile version

T-mobile software update
Ok i have new software update should i postpone or update I'm rooted :what is in the new T-mobile update?
PSA: People, if you get an update, post what you are on right now so we know if your getting the same update that was released weeks ago that everyone else already has, or if its truly a new update please.
I am stock/rooted and on UVLH2. The update showed up yesterday morning. I also keep receiving a samsung account update. I hit update then it disappears, then shows up again some time later.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
For those wondering, this may not be the update you were expecting i.e. JB. Received update notification last night. Update upgraded software from UVLH2 to UVALJ4 which is still 4.0.4. Wife received notification last afternoon. Phones are only a week old on the network.
Voodoo root keeper will work. Just install it, click temp unroot, install the update, phone will reboot and then go back into voodoo and restore root. If you get some xxxx app has stopped, un install the specific apps, reboot and reinstall them. Its works for me.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
If the Update is under 100mb then this is not JB. Sorry. Also, if you are one LH2, then this will updated you to LJ4 (ICS like the poster above stated). Sorry again.
Silver lining? Since Sprint is getting theirs pushed over the next few days, that means that it is very clear all the carriers have it and are bloating as we speak. Many people/sites/blogs said that it will be this month, next month 1Q of 2013 for TMo.
I suggest going to tech sites like Engadget, Phandroid, Android Police,...as once the TMo update rolls out, they will be awash with stories about it. Case-in-point, Google SPH-L710 Official Jelly Bean Update and see how many links come up or how many threads.
Can confirm this is uvalj4. Dis use root keeper and worked perfect.

[Q] OTA pushed to my modified & rooted Note 2 this morning

Did anyone else recently receive an OTA update notification this morning? My device status has always been modified  and in the past going to the update screen wouldn't allow me to receive the update do to the modified status. This is on T-Mobile so I'm wondering A.) how did the update try to come through with the device modified flag set and B.) why now? This is in the Detroit Michigan area.
ROM info:
Android version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: T889UVALJ1
Kernel version: 3.0.31-260018
[email protected] #1
build number: JR003C.T889UVALJ1
They can push notifications through easily, unless you have a notification blocker setup. The update is 4.1.2, and is supposed to enable mutli-window support for our device that was supposed to come with it.
Clarification: Update NOTIFICATIONS can come through, not the update itself.

Thanks for clearing that up - it probably was just the notification that I received. It was 5:30am so I just hit "post pone" for 1 day and froze the process so that it doesn't come back... I have Google Wallet working and really don't want to update to 4.1.2 (I did that update on Dec 19th but ending up reverting because of issues with Gwallet). Thanks again.
no loser it's 4.1.1. Definitely not 4.1.2 .. that ain't out officially yet

I got this I'm the morning but postponed it ( there's no way to reject it? )
I've been browsing the threads to make sure there aren't any ill effects if i run this on my stock rooted tmo handset..
(Will upload pics in a sec, upload seems to be broken)

Everyone on 4.1.1/multi-view just manually checked for an OTA.

I received the notification and postponed it too because mine is sim unlocked and rooted on stock with tether running successfully.
Don't want all that to go poof. Wonder how long I can keep postponing it.
Yeah way cool, the guy got the version wrong and being polite I went with it. No need for names children. THAT WAS COOL IN HIGHSCHOOL.

Yeah it is but it's interesting to see a rooted modded phone get that notification. I'm curious if the OTA would actually go through lol.

That is pretty confusing to me. I would love to try out the multi-window thing but of course I can't get the Update because of my Modified status. I actually even went through the hassle of Unroot on my phone and it still has the Modified status. LOL Oh well.

ATT Software Udate

I just got a notification on my ATT G6 that there is a software update. I wonder what issues it will address. Won't be able to update until later tonight.
Ooh hopefully T-mobile gets one too. How big of an update is it?

I'm on AT&T didn't get anything
I installed the update and haven't noticed anything different. When I launched the camera though it did act like it was the first use so maybe it was camera software related.

Mine got updated to, but before it was updated, my camera was perfectly fine, quality and everything was great, but now after the update, everything i take picture of is blurry and grainy which my camera never had before, even in really good lighting.

LG and att are officially 3 months behind Google monthly security patch updates. Even my father in-laws old note 4 is getting more regular security updates thru Verizon than this brand new device ! If I wasn't paying $15 a month for this i would have kept my G3. My Nexus player just got the June patch yesterday
Received an update tonight looks like a security update about 800mb I'm in eastern US
Force the update on my phone from the settings page just now. Download is 820MB. Quite a significant amount for a simple security patch
820MB here. Took forever to download. Servers are slow at 2mbps haha. Update brings us up to August security patch and LG software version 10m. Haven't noticed anything different yet except for a post boot warning asking me to not yank the battery on an unresponsive device. Hard reboot is a power + vol down button combo press & hold for 9 seconds
Phone idle battery drain bug is still present in August update
The phone idle drain bug is still here. It eats over 30% of battery over two days for me. Below is the version info from AT&T. 820MB seems like a lot for just security and baseband updates but the changelog is as always ambiguous and uninformative:
Release date: August 29, 2017
Android version: 7.0
Security patch level (SPL): August 1, 2017
Baseband version: MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3.1-00014-M8996FAAAANAZM-1
Kernel version: 3.18.31
Build number: NRD90U
Software version: H87110m
File size: 820MB
What's changing: Network performance enhancements and Android device security updates
