Remove Hands Free Activation - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Is it possible to remove the hands free activation from the Sprint s6 edge plus without root or with root? I'm using it on ATT with no issues aside from this.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

i just remove mine using "titanium backup" app

How ??
Can you be more specific please ?
Did u flash anything ?

It's a stock sprint s6 edge plus. It has been unlocked by sprint. Works fine on ATT in the USA. Just keeps asking for sprint hands free activation.

You have to delete all of sprint's apps. Download root explorer and delete the sprint system apps, I can't remember the exact names but most have sprint in their name.

You can do it with package disabler pro(without root), you have to disable Samsung DM Service

G2 off cellular network

Hello,
I have a Sprint g2 I can't use since I am on verizon...and for whatever reason no one will offer me over 200 for it. So i kinda want to just use it...but is there a way I could just stop the phone from looking for a network, remove bloat, and essentially just use as a mini tab?

Well yeah, I did that but aside from that there are always a few warning messages, popups, notifications and stuff because the phone isnt attached to an account.
Id like to somehow strip that all out along with the bloat stuff.

Root it. Get titanium backup and freeze any and all sprint apps and bloatware. Disable mobile data and leave wifi on. I did this to an old motorola photon and its docking cradle and turned it into an android tv box. Even found a workable old version of xmbc for it.

Question on tethering s6

So I used to tether alot on my s6 and had my service on a vacation plan and now ive reconnected it. Ive noticed now in the unlimited plan they offer 3gb hotspot will that now cut me off at 3gb, because I used to tether around 20gb a month. Thanks for any information
Question, How do I get tethering to work? I get a "You must subscribe" screen. I have tried xposed modules and playing around with the build.prop, deleting system apps that I suspected of causing this message. No go. HELP!

If you're rooted and have "dun" added to your APN settings it will not cut you off at 3gb. It will just appear as normal data usage under your Unlimited data info.

Yes, but I can't get my MSL
Saafir said:
Can't is a strong word. You can do anything you put your mind too. You can simply ask Sprint, which I have never had a problem with. Or if you have an old device laying around still.. Reactivate the old device to your line, then switch back to your S6. You'll get the activation EMail containing your six digit activation number, or "MSL" Alternatively you could use Galaxy Tools.

I can vouch for this as well. Just tried it, and it is working perfectly. Thanks!
could somebody explain this whole thread to me please.
Am i to assume that i need root and some tweaking of permissions and what not? To acheive the unlimited internet with mobile hotspot? Does the phone come with a stock hotspot app? Or is one needed from the playstore?
My verizon phone note2 was never rooted and came with hotspot app. BUT, i was limited on the internet. Whereas, my sprint note2 had to be rooted and has the wifi tether app.
I've heard the coverage has improved. And from what i can tell with my sprint note2. That appears to be the case. I would really like to ditch verizon and get back to sprint. For half the price and unlimited. My verizon s6 appears to have better coverage then the note 2. And it has a stock hotspot app. I"m hoping to see improved coverage results with the sprint s6. And really want the unlimited internet. Preferably at the SPARK or 4g speeds that are available. ( I'm a truck driver )

Yay! That's all the was needed! But one Question, I accidentally enabled some sort of debugging using the Galaxy Tools APP I know it said (QCOM ONLY) at the end.and now anytime I boot it says silent log failed I tried doing a complete restore from a few days ago and it is still there.

It was the SysDump Menu. Enable Silent Logging from Boot(ONLY QCOM) how do I disable?

can someone point me in the right direction

so I'm screwed up and broke my rooted vzw note 8. obviously I didn't want to use a lesser device so I went with the note 10 plus the bad thing is that it's on Verizon so obviously the bootloader is locked, I know **** me for being on Verizon but it's the only service that actually allows me to make and receive phone calls from my house and actually receive text messages I know I could always be hooked up to Wi-Fi but that's not the lifestyle I'm about I don't like relying on my Wi-Fi connection in order for my phone service to work my phone service should just work in general and T-Mobile just does not work.. I know I most likely cannot and will never be able to root this thing does anyone know of any apps that will allow me to disable the bloatware?
thanks in advance

Try Package Disabler Pro in Play Store, it worked great for me. If not that one, there are others, give 'em a go until you find the one that works for you.
Go for CCSWE in Play Store as the only one that doesn't require repurchases periodically
I use both apps, I use ccswe because it can disable services within an app without completely disabling it, and package disabler pro which can disable more system apps than ccswe
thank you very much for your responses I will try both applications
update: disabled everything!!!

Samsung Visual Voicemail APK

Is there one that works with our S20 Ultra?
I tried loading the one from the S10 and it doesn't open, just shows not supported when trying to open.
TMO VVM app is utter garbage and Verizon's isn't available for unlocked phones. Not interested in third party VM services.
This is one thing (besides imessage) I miss from iOS. Baked in visual voice mail support. I wish they'd add it to Android.
I use the one from the Galaxy Store on my Ultra, and it works just fine (Verizon MVNO).

What store? The only one I have wants me to buy accessories for my S20U!
The Galaxy Store, it should be pre-loaded...
I don't see it there either??
I have an unlocked S20 Ultra using a Verizon sim and it came with the Samsung VVM app preinstalled. I works perfectly with Verizon.
Wasn't on my phone. I have the USA unlocked version.

Something weird is going on.
I can't access this app anywhere.
Yet it is installed on the phone!
I can ONLY see it from CCSWE App manager. It has not been disabled or removed.
I use Nova and it has not been hidden from the app drawer as well.
I inserted a Verizon SIM and restarted the phone thinking that it may show up.
Nope.
I really don't want to reset the damn thing and start all over again or it may wind up sitting on the shelf next to the other phones...

Yes this is frustrating, having to dial my VM to listen to my messages.
Makes me feel like I'm using my Nextel i1000 from 2000.
Yeah the tmobile visual voice-mail is terrible, I miss visual voice mail that was built in the Oneplus 7 pro.

+1, as soon as it updates carrier settings your good to go. Sounds like you may need a factory reset. But before you do that try resetting your network settings and wiping cache.

Full factory reset and I still have no visual voicemail showing here! @beyondpissed
When I flashed the unlocked firmware to my ultra it didn't show in the app drawer but shoed in the app list. Once I signed into the galaxy store with Samsung account there was an update for visual voicemail showing. After it applied the app was visible in the app drawer and works fine now.

It's not there.
So I factory reset AGAIN and did NOT restore ANYTHING so I have a completely STOCK phone. No visual voice mail app.
Now here's where it gets interesting. I inserted my Verizon SIM and now the VVM app shows up, so I downloaded the update. The icon is RED.
Removed the Verizon SIM card and put the T Mobile SIM card back in. Now the VVM icon is a blueish color AND when I open it, a message pops up that it keeps crashing. What a joke!
hi all, using G9880 on t-mo and G9810 on att, no VVM on either.
There has to be a way to sideload this...

For TMO users I've been reading that the number must have a DIGITS line associated with it. To do this you MUST put your TMO SIM in an actual TMO device that has a recognized IMEI. Then it can be registered. The second part (and the dealbreaker for me) is you MUST flash the TMO rom to your device. There's no way I'm doing that. If I wanted a TMO device and all their associated third world like garbage, I would have bought their crappy phone!
I'd rather succumb to using youmail OR even just dialing voice mail like in the old days.
Everything else TMO works fine, their fake 5G BS, wifi calling, et al.
TBH I'm making a mountain out of a molehill at this point, because, personally I use my device as a CELLPHONE maybe 5% of the time? And that may be generous.
But what gets under my skin is I paid more than a top of the line iphone and still seemingly get the fragmented, beta-like experience.
Put the u1 firmware on phone last night and then used the Samsung vvm from the note 10 thread around here and kept getting unsupported... when I went into the galaxy store the update was there but kept failing to install. I deleted the one from the note 10 I installed and it updated the preloaded app and now it works.

Unlocked Note 20 Ultra no visual voicemail.

1. go here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...verizon-visual-voicemail-apk-samsung-t3967796 (VVM .apk to sideload)
2.Once installed, hit done. Now open galaxy store and go to your updates. You will see it can update but will fail.
3.close the galaxy store but leave it running.
4. Uninstall the sideloaded VVM
5. go to recent apps and back to the galaxy store and update VVM
6. Should be good to go
I'm with Verizon as well and this is the visual voicemail that has integrated with verizon voicemail including if you pay for premium. It seems to be the same one on the Verizon note 9.

Is this what you are looking for this is what I have on note 10+. At first thought it was from Verizon as the premium upgrade promoted the $2.99 per month from Verizon.

It says it's not compatible. I know it has something to do with my device being unlocked, but the other unlocked Samsung's I had worked with the apk
Which I hope is not the case because it works on my note 10+ unlocked so hope that is not the case.
Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
As of right now it is the case. But I did get my phone a couple of days early so some of the back end stuff may be turned off until actual launch day this Friday. I will update the post of anything changes.
Updated OP w/ solution. If any needs more detail please let me know.
For anyone on ATT, I faced this problem when I got my phone in the mail yesterday. I just installed it from Google play and it worked like a charm. Easy peasy. Not sure if this works for Verizon or other carriers.
For T-mobile, I just downloaded the app from play store and works fine.

This is one area where Apple triumphs. Built right in to dialer, just works. No apps to download.

Yes stock Samsung VVM app works great on Verizon.
With TMO, the app is on the phone but hidden. Put a VZW sim in, it shows up and works.
Switch back to TMO sim and while the app still shows up, opening it results in immediate FC.
If you're on TMO with the USA unlocked version and want VVM, you have to use the official TMO VVM app which IMHO is garbage. Doesn't even have a night mode FFS.
