Google Keyboard Missing Unicode 8 emoji - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having this odd and annoying issue where Google Keyboard on my vs985 (LGG3) running cm13 does NOT display the new Unicode emoji, but the aosp keyboard on cm13 DOES display them.
Google Keyboard on my nexus 7 and my friends nexus 6 both have all the new Unicode 8 emoji.
Does anybody else have this issue?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

I have the same issue on my Galaxy S4 running CM13 with Google Keyboard, I haven't tried the AOSP Keyboard yet, but i think the new emojis would be there. However, i can see the emojis from Unicode 8 in apps like instagram. I think Google has to deliver an update for its Keyboard app to unlock the emojis.

Emojis for Jellybean

Is there any way to outfit the Jellybean keyboard with emojis support like on the iPhone? Currently I can only use emojis in SMS and MMS running codename with a quick emoji button enabled.

You'd have to either get a themed keyboard or download a different keyboard from the playstore
If you have the AOKP ROM, in the Messaging App, you can turn on Emoji's and use them just like the iPhone. You can also insert them.

I'm running codename and I have that enabled and have a button on then side to insert without the need to go into the menu. However I'm interested in something that's universal and could be used with any app such as instagram and Facebook.

[Q] Samsung Keyboard Query

I know that Samsung's keyboard is based on Swype but there's one very important feature missing. Swype had the ability to add words to its dictionary from the phone's phonebook, messages, facebook, etc. Anyone know if we can do that in Samsung's keyboard? I have not been able to find how to do this till now.

[Q] emoji directly in keyboard?

hey does anyone know how to and be willing to take the mms.apk with emoji from the theme and apps and make emoji able to be selected from the keyboard instead of the smileys? the reason is so that i can use the emojis on apps like instagram if someone at least can show me how ill do the work....also how does one get it to see emoji in color on instagram and other apps?
If you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jlsoft.inputmethod.latin.jelly.free and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.plugin.emoji then go into the keyboard plugin settings there will be an option to enable iOS 6 emoji. When it is enabled just hold down the enter key and slide to the emoji. You then have emojis directly in the keyboard!
I use Kii Keyboard. It has the built in emojis including the new emoji from iOS 6 

Emoji + Keyboard help?

Hey xda! I've been searching around for a 4.2 Keyboard with Emojis embedded with it. I can't code so I can't embed the emojis into the keyboard file to flash onto my phone. Anyone think they can help?
How's this one? Ok it's not a full keyboard, just emoji, but it is stock from the n4 and works on gnex.

Try a ROM that comes with it. I personally use paranoid android.
I use this one with the handcent emoji plugin. best choice IMO. however, you lose swype functionality, but the colored emojis (Only in messaging and the keyboard itself) make up for that.

I used to be a big fan of hand cent, but I felt like it was slowing my phone down especially with the popup messenger. Is it any better now?

i don't use the Handcent messaging app. the keyboard uses Handcent's emoji plugin. Giving you the opportunity to have the stock keyboard and with one long press and swipe you'll get and colored emoji keyboard that looks like the iphone version
I'm using PA and my stock messaging app doesn't have emoji, I have to install AOKP messaging app everytime I flash a new version of PA. does yours have emoji?
