Is there any method to root ZE551KL without need to unlock bootloader ?
I mean one, that will be unnoticable for service after unrooting.
This was possible for some phones like LG L5.
I don't want service to know, that i was rooting my device.

I have received my new LG G4 H815 (EU) phone today and I definitely want to root the phone. Now I'm asking myself whether I should unlock the bootloader or not.
As far as I understand, there are two completely different options for getting root access to the device:
1. Register on LG site, officially unlock bootloader, install TWRP image via fastboot, install root via TWRP
2. Walk through the instructions in this thread:

According to the thread you should disable OTA upgrades after rooting it and there is always the possibility that LG patches this rooting method with future Android Upgrades. However, I do want to upgrade the Android system image from time to time (LG will probably provide an upgrade to Android 6.0 sooner or later). Will upgrading the Android system (without loosing root) be less problematic when I unlock the bootloader now? As far as I understand it so far, you can easily root it again after an upgrade if you have unlocked the bootloader. Is that correct? Can I still use OTA upgrades when the bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed? I don't mind running fastboot to reinstall TWRP after an upgrade but I don't really like to manually download each Android upgrade from shady mirror sites instead of using the official LG OTA updater.
I do know that unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty and that some Apps may refuse to work no an unlocked device. I'm ok with that and I want to have the phone permanently rooted and install updates (without loosing root) with as little trouble as possible.
Since unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything, I want to do it either now (before setting up the phone) or never. So what would you recommend?

My model is European H815, I want to ask you can I root G4, change the recovery and e.t.c. without unlocking the bootloader? well you can only root using low effort root(google it or find it here ) But to change recovery you have to unlock bootloader
No there is no way confirmed to relock your bootloader

without bootloader unlocked nothing will chnage ( recovery wont be installed ) and when you reboot your phone it will get u error (authentication error #9) as i remember and you will have to flash new firmware using lg flash tool 2014 so i dont recommend you do so

I did not get it, I hope you can light me up:
1. Doing root using low effort root means rooting without unlocking bootloader? (because I flew over the thread and did not read anything about it)
2. If I do unlock Marshmallow's bootloader, what happens when I downgrade to Lollipop via flashing proper KDZ? (I would guess that the unlocked bootlader will be overwritten!? So flashing Marshmallow again would end up in a locked bootloader, doesn't it?)

You can root lollipop without unlocking bootloader but with marshmalow you can't, you have to unlock the bootloader.
You need an unlocked bootloader for custom recovery.
Bootloader unlocking is a one way operation , you can't go back.

My main concern is the warranty: is there a way to gain root without leaving traces? I suppose if I get root with locked bootloader, I can easily revert it if I need warranty, right? Can someone point me at the steps required to safely root and unroot the device while still having a working warranty after the process?

I remember that there were some tools for Samsung mobiles like Towelroot which rooted the phone without triggering knox/unlocking bootloader.
It could be also useful to relock the bootloader and find a way to hidden the boot notification of unlocked device.

Towelroot is a very old exploit, and newer protection measures along with FRP make it extremely difficult if not possible at this point to unlock/relock the bootloader from Android itself.
Besides, I'm fairly sure Moto service centers will still take your phone regardless of the bootloader status given that it is a defect that is unrelated to the user (ie: ghost touches, screen burn, etc.).
Would there be a way to do one-click-root on the Motorola Moto G5 (XT1672) or another way that is easy and does not do a factory reset? Thanks!

I really don't know how this is going from root very well, but as I understand it, you need to unlock the bootloader of the device (which requires a factory reset). If you already have the bootloader unlocked, try KingRoot, The truth is the only root of a click that I know, I have not really tried it on this device, but on an old phone, and it worked fine. The only problem I have had and I do not know if it is the fault of the device or KingRoot, and is that when I try to uninstall an application which I gave it the root permissions, the phone restarts, to uninstall an application I had to deny it permissions and then I could uninstall it, I repeat, I do not know if it is a problem that only happens to me

Rooting the phone does not require a factory reset but unlocking the bootloader does
So if you haven't unlocked the bootloader you will have to factory reset it during the process
If the bootloader is already unlocked you do not need to factory reset your device again in order to root it
Magisk should be the only way you should root your device - do not use other methods like kingroot as this has bloat and is not systemless (meaning it alters the system partition)
You need to root with magisk in order to maintain the system partition in its original state in order to pass basic integrity & to be able to pass cts profile (may need a magisk module) and to hide the fact you are rooted from apps that will not work if your device is rooted

Thank you for your help. I tried several One-click-root, none worked, so I researched, they only work on android 7.
Could you tell me if it is possible to Downgrade from Android 8.1 to 7 without unlocking the bootloader? All the videos I find, the bootloaders are already unlocked.

As mentioned before - you cannot root a device without unlocking the bootloader!
Why do you want a one click root? They are buggy & full of bloatware
Magisk should be the only method you should be using to root a device - either flashing through twrp or by patching the kernel and flashing the patched image through fastboot

In fact, since i need to unlock the bootloader to root, for now, it wouldn't be a good option for me.
But there are apps that I really need and that don't work correctly on Android versions above Nougat, if I could get Downgrade without losing data, that would help me immensely for now.
Is there a possibility that I can downgrade to android 7 with the locked bootloader ? What can go wrong? Brick?

You would have to format data - it would bootloop otherwise and I've already said. Flash all parts of firmware except gpt and bootloader however it may not flash as your bootloader is not unlocked
If the flashing goes wrong and your bootloader is not unlocked you will not be able to recover the device without taking it to a repair shop
My advice just don't bother - if you want to mod your phone unlock the bootloader!
And what app doesn't work above nougat?
