I know that Nexus, OnePlus, and developer edition Motorola devices allow unlocking the bootloader without voiding the warranty. Do any other devices also allow this?

Warranty is voided if you unlock the bootloader, which is required for rooting, unless there's a method to do otherwise.
Is my warranty still available if I unlock, root, then relock? Because the HTC service staff says that unlocking might cause damage, but as far as I know none will be caused. But should it do so, won't relocking it make it alright?

Rooting without unlocking bootloader is impossible.
Your warranty will be void if the bootloader has been once unlocked. Relocking won't always make it better and it will display **relocked** instead of **locked**
It's not impossible though to get the phone fixed under warranty with unlocked state...

Perhaps where you are from, it is permitted. Here though, the technicians tend not to know too much about this kind of thing.
I've seen all sorts of reports. Some with unlocked bootloader have success with warranty repairs and some do not.
It all depends on where you send it back, who looks at it, what the actual fault is and the position of the moon.
I seem to recall on htcdev and the screen on the phone when unlocking say 'may' void your warranty.
Basically pot luck but not 100% no.

Seeing as it's the same thread, I'd just like to ask if there is ANY damage caused at all by unlocking the bootloader. As far as I know it does not happen.

Yes, you lose the warranty. No, relocking is not possible. The unlocking is registered at the Lenovo Servers.
Can anyone guide me how to unlock bootloader without voiding the warranty? and if it's not possible then guide me on how to root this device :laugh:

Go to about phone in settings, tap build number 5 or more times (i dont know how many exactly). Go back to settings list, go to developer settings, go to unlock bootloader, follow instructions.
I'm thinking of returning/replacing my phone due to the issue with the screen (one side is darker).
I unlocked the bootloader und rooted the phone. Am I'm going to have any problems because of that? If I return to stock, will they be able to detect that it was unlocked?
I did find this statement in the faq:

So just had a few doubts regarding this phone(bought it last week)
I read about the procedure to unlock the bootloader and everything.
1. I know unlocking will void my warranty, but can i then relfash stock rom and relock bootloader to show that the bootloader was never unlocked? We could do that in Xperia.
Is it possible to do it now?
2. Will just rooting require the bootloader to be unlocked? And if yes would the warranty be void if I unlocked the bootloader and just root the phone without flashing custom ROMs?
Unlocking bootlader procedure doesn"t void you warranty. At least in Poland
Rooting requires unlocked bootloader. Im not sure about rooting, but you can always flash offcial miui build and its going to unroot your Redmi and relock you bootloader

1. As far as I know the warranty is not void. I have not seen any such warning. But please do check from your end.
2. Rooting will need unlocked bootloader if you are doing it via the recovery. Maybe one click root apps wont. I dunno of any one click root apps for RN5 Pro
Unlocking bootloader don't void warranty of xiaomi phones its confirmed
Changes in rom may void warranty like rooting
But u can again clean flash rom with mi flash restore to factory stage is possible
