Zf2 was launched with Lollipop, so there's no KitKat rom. You mean close to stock android, or close to stock ASUS firmware?

yeah sorry i meant lollipop stock android or asus not much on customization..
and btw saw on general section on rooting mehot 3 theres you can have root permanently and when you apply ota

Well , i recommend you echoe rom for zenfone 2
Go in echoerom.com and get it its not in xda
Its stock based and vey well optimized you will get better performance and battery than stock zen ui

Its easy to get out of bootloops so dont worry,
First download the stock rom zip from asus suppport webpage for zenfone 2 ze551ml
Download the firmware u have installed
I hope u know how to enter recovery mode, enter and select apply update from adb
Make a folder adb in desktop and change the downloaded firmware to file.zip
Open command prompt in that folder shift+right click
Type adb sideload file.zip
It will take a while be patient and then enjoy your not bootlooping zf2 after selecting reboot

No specific Indian version hasn't been released yet.
This is Chinese version, but this ROM also has English included. So you can easily flash and set it up for English.
You can find the link for the recovery ROM in the OP. It can be directly flashed through TWRP or some other custom recovery.

No it fails to flash using twrp. Either I am not updated with current version of twrp is a reason or it may only be flashed with stock recovery.
I would have rather used fastboot ROM in order to update basband ,for better network and less battery drain.
one of the most welcome feature of this miui6 update is that u can use any of the sims either 1or 2 for 3g services without physically changing sim slots.
Official beta global miui6 has also been released, check miui forum for more details.

How to flash the recovery.
I'm unable to flash the recovery.img apparently this partition does not exist. [fastboot flash recovery recovery.img] right? Everything else flashes after the wipe but not the recovery. Can someone help with this please, this is the same problem with all the roms. My bootloader is unlocked.

I have been using Emma for a long time but it never gives me an option for a new TA but it allows me to flash the kk ROM. Is there a manual way of updating my bootloader. My bootloader is already unlocked.

Hopefully, i made a img file who allows to flash the new TA. use Flashtool to flash and you should be able to flash a recovery after that .

thanks but that doesn't help. do i have to flash my phone to stock 6.0.1 or can i flash its straight over the top of v1 romaur? and what do i do about the kernel, none of this is explained in that post.

Did you check the first post of that thread. That's what I did and found the instructions for installing the rom... And in future please use the Q&A thread for these questions.

yes i did and all it says is
- HOW TO INSTALL THIS ROM ON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER :
1 - Unlock bootloader - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
2 - Installed marshmallow firmware if come from lollipop
3 - Install kernel for your device
4 - Install the latest twrp - thanks to AndroPlus
5 - Copy rom to ext sdcard
6 - Enter to recovery
7 - Make a FULL Wipe on aroma if come from another FW, before installing ROM
8- Install rom for your device
9 - Reboot
10 - Enjoy
my problem is i dont know how to update to marshmallow which is what my first post said.
Got my hands again on the stock factory image Will be providing link for it soon for people to customize it, and hopefully @codeworkx can take the camera improvements for these and put it to the LineageOS 13 to improve camera function.
