Cyanogenmod 13(porting) - Galaxy S6 Edge+ General

Ok this is a topic for discuss on the porting of cyanogenmod 13 to our devices...i think that the porting is very easy to do because the only differnce between s6 and s6 edge plus are the screen and ram.
I try to boot cm (s6 version) but it doesen't boot .
Anyone could help us for making this possibile ?

Yes, please! We do need Cyanogenmod to our S6 edge+!

Nice progress m8.
Also, this thread much sense makes. Congrats.

We have only kernel sources like s6

Kernel sources of the g928f are released maybe that can help a bit

my opinion is that we must ask to some developer if he interesting port cm13 or cm12.1 at least for us..who wants do that?

i think this thread should be promoted in other areas-threads so as to see all developers wishing to express interest to built cm for us.. :good:

Well, as it seems, Samsung isn't going to release the source code, which means there's no AOSP... at least not stable for daily use.

Wait, you installed galaxy s6 version of cyanogen on your edge plus and it didnt hard brick without any modification? If so I might have a solid idea on how to run it but since this is such an expensive device i am really afraid

Just some int.d build.prop and permission twicks witch I used to port stuff on my old exynos s5,Im sure someone else tryed this but I need to know 100% that the g920 or g925(there is cm for that) cyanogen kernel does NOT brick our device and that it can still be resored via odin.Again this is an very expensive piece of equipment and my JTAG station just died last week.So I really am not in the mood for bricks now
EDIT:Why people say there is no source code everything I needed for porting could be found at opensource.samsung.com

[Q][Devs] Ubuntu Phone Os

Hello all.
Do you think it's possible to work on an Ubuntu port from nexus 4 for our devices?
Maybe someone is already working on it. If yes could you tell us please.
Thanks you devs for your hard work!
Maybe image from n7 would be easier to port since it is tegra 3...
all i can say would love to se this tested out due to the Nexus 7 sharing the tegra 3 but there is alot of other issues at hand that may be different but the dev have made wonders of previous things.
Yes I agree with you. Deva are really goods here. I'm a noob in Linux dev. So n7 image is ready to download it's why I asked this question... I would like to try but I don't want to brick my phone... But I'm really interested to try Ubuntu...
An official porting guide will be availllable at 15pm... https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
We want to see ports for our HTC One X Some developers already ported it to SGS3.
I think is better wait for a port when radio and other works.
Because, the first image, have the radio off, kernel is unstable and a lot of pics are fake
To anybody else trying: can you get the "phablet-dev-bootstrap" command to work? 'Cause I can't.
I'll try at home... Work in progress for one x+... Maybe it's will be easier to port it...
Sorry for question but i'm interesting: why port a pre-alpha release when don't work anything?
I think in 2 months there are new release with a stable kernel and with radio on

Because of.... I need it! I want to give it a try and most probably, whenever it becomes a bit more usable, we won't have to start everything from scratches.
I'm trying to do something with the port, can't assure anything... no enthusiastic comments please!

It was an info question
I think is better take a port when it will be more usable but we are free and my it was a question!
Don't worry mate

no problem! I think that it will be a maintainment and not a new start!
p.s. ciao collega

MIUI v5/v6 4.4.x Porting Help

Can someone explain in fair ease how to port MIUI v5 or V6 onto a AOSP Based ROM, like ShinyROM/CM11/OmniROM? Preferably in a GITHub format so Updates to MIUI and these bases update the whole package? Been fiddling with porting it and had no success and the official MIUI porting team instructions seem to not apply/im not grasping it as much as I should
Thanks in advance!
Bump?
Would be great to have a port of Miui 4.4, but seems that a people are not interested. A my friend tried to port but without success. I think that this is possible, but need help.

I tried that first to be honest, but not from the guide directly, just guessing what might work, i know MIUI has init.d things that seperate it from AOSP
PS: Are you the same guy i saw over on MIUI forum?? (I'm XeoShion there)

Interested in porting CM 13

Hello fellow XDA members, I recently purchased a Le Pro 3 and a Le S3 during the flash sale and would like to use Cyanogenmod on my devices. I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever ported a ROM before as I have not, and only know about the CM porting guide and opensource.le.com for the kernel source. If anyone has any tips or would like to assist me in porting CM13 to the Pro 3 please reply to this thread or PM me. Thanks, and let's hope LeEco releases the source soon!
Love to help but this isn't my department ????. But we should probably see more support in a couple more days once they start arriving here
Just out of curiousity, what exactly had you hoped to achieve with this post? If you're interested in porting, ideally you should at least be able to build a rom (for another pre-existing device)... and then you'll have to hunt down help on the CM forums and then eventually IRC.
Talking about this on XDA is pointless.

The purpose of my post was to see if anyone in the XDA community had experience porting a ROM to a new device, and if they'd be interested in helping me. I have read through a few guides and understanding building a ROM, but am struggling to find what I must "merge." From what I've found so far, I'll need to edit/merge the directories in /system/libs and edit the kernel?

No, it's far more complicated than that. You'll need a copy of the kernel for sure, but you'll also need a device definition. You can use the op3's device as a template, it's probably the best example of an msm8996 device you can have.
You really should be checking into the CM forums. CM people are pretty uppity about not supporting things on XDA. They also don't tend to help. Even as a developer I find it difficult sometimes to get their attention. Your best bet is to go to them if you want their help. Good luck.

Where did you get that information from? They "accidentally" released kernel sources not too long ago and seemingly withdrew it. I got a copy of them and that's what I've been working with. I don't have a device to verify if any of it works.

Not a lot. I've identified the CAF tag the sources are based on and have been working to separate the relevant LeEco mods from the less relevant ones. I've also been attempting to remove the leeco specific things from the drivers that i'm keeping since they're a horrible mess and CM won't be able to make use of them anyway. I've also been finding the appropriate open versions of the drivers and taking the latest ones instead.
The mods from LeEco seem to be a mess, the dmesg output I got from a user on the chinese model (the x720) had segfaults from the modifications just after boot. The logcats are so full of errors I was unable to get the user to send me a full logcat from boot.
Interestingly enough, the chinese system rom looks like it came from a Le Max2. This makes sense since it's LeEco's first msm8996 device, and the Le Pro3 is the second one. I imagine the kernel sources work across a number of the 8996's.
Can you send me the link to where you got the open drivers.

Wish i could help more, but it looks like the kernel source is in there too, perhaps that means a fully functional cm13 rom that works AT LEAST as well as the stock rom. VERY EXCITE!

Source release for Huawei Nova/Nova PLUS

Huawei has finally uploaded the opens source code for all of our devices (the 3 hardware versions).
I have reuploaded it to Google Drive for easier download.
Grab them here : https://goo.gl/DiAj78
Wooooowwww, if that's the sources all is getting great now. Xelfmade, make or phone great again ?
So anybody have the original download link?
Great news! I Assume custom roms etc will become available now once people have built them?
You can get the original downlaods from here : http://consumer.huawei.com/en/opens...Type=openSourceSoftware&pageSize=10&curPage=1
Just search Nova. The download speed was a tad slow.
Huh, i was asking them several times over the past days about the sources. Pleasent coincidence.

Oh wow Nice! My variant is the CAN-L01 one.
Probably it will work for any variant, even chinese ones.
But my problem is not the rom itself, is the kernel. I'm wanting to learn to mod and compile kernel just for this, as Nova kernel is awful to tweak.

I know that it will probably work for all variants it's just cool to see my one used as a base for a custom rom.
Do you guys have any guides how to apply these stock roms to unrooted phone? i want to get rid of the carrier crap that's why thinking to apply the stock rom. Thanks.

Fulmics Rom ?

G3 and G5 got fulmics rom and now they think about G6 !
Our G4 is skipped again hahahaha !!!!
Worst phone Novel earned !
I'll wait until the end of this year and if i don't see a better support i'm gone too !!!
The creator off this rom simply passed from g3 to g5 and so he does't have the g4 to work on, unfortunately

Anyway. I'm going to port fulmics soon. I just need time cause of my bad network.
Yeah raptor mine is worst. Until i download a rom i have 12 dc and i need 2 days to upload a rom. Thats why i can't sync to a repo in git and have some real fun......
4mbps at its good days............

not porting the android 7 fulmics, im not messing with new drivers and trying to make the drivers that lg wont release. That needs months and im alone i dont have a whole team !

Well I'm sorry to have bothered you, I was just curious.. Didn't mean to take over your thread.
You are going to attempt porting a Fullmics ROM? Nice! Have you already chosen a Fulmics ROM release of a specific device as a base to start with? There are a couple of releases for a couple of different LG devices.
Man I feel ya about your bad internet speeds, if there's anything I could do for you, just say it. I am willing to help or to test something in the future. :good:

not luck. im already running fulmics rom. i just need time to perfect it and much much time to upload it when its ready........ in 2 or 3 weeks it will be ready.
i need to add h811 variant. compare it with the h815 to see which ones are needed , which not needed (otherwise the rom will go up to 2,5gb lmao), h811 stock kernel and lastly correct the aroma installer...... thats the hardest part in fulmics. The aroma installer is huge. So forget fulmics rom for now until its 100% working !!!
When its ready it wont even need a single bug fix. I hate bugs.

well you asked about no FULMICS beign port to LG G4. and that G4 was dead . did not use this thread. i said regarding the dead development that a new G5 port was in the works. this isnt a FULMICS rom thread rather a Q&A.
so i see no harm there. good luck. we need lots of developers for our G4.:good:
i sspent 1 day uploading...
i failed ...
its so hard to port this... if i use the g3 i can make it boot but with the g4 libs and apps. So it wont even be close to fulmics, it will look like stock.
otherwise i have to learn how to change the apks stracture from x86 to x64...... i don't know how to do that.
If i use the g5 fulmics i don't have android 7 drivers............ i so much wait for those drivers from LG.........
Edit :
It's a notice for the future since we wait nougat these days.
We are not allowed to Port fulmics rom and we will not get fulmics rom. So don't even think about asking or porting it.
