[Right method to unlock bootloader]Unlock_Bootloader Tool for Zenfone 5 by XHook v1

After much suffering this was the only release that corrected the freezes, restarts and the camera after unlocking the bootloader.
Instructions​
Download and install the latest Intel Android Device USB Drivers from HERE
Dowload the zip from HERE
Post your Zenfone in fastboot mode
Run the .bat

OBS: This first version only unlock the bootloader, the next I add the flash TWRP recovery in the bat and other bat to lock the bootloader

Can i know someone here who is having the No camera problem,have u tried this ?

I'm with the unlock bootloader problem even in rom stock.
I lock bootloader again, and then use that?
It only works if you use custom rom? Or also in stock?

The bat file it blocks before unlocking is only put in fastboot and run the file without fear.

After I used it with Lollipop droidboot ww t00j stock .78 I had problems with camera. It works only with kitkat?

have you worked on method to re-lock bootloader..

bricked my bootloader
After flashing this I couldn't access my fastboot. Now I can't even boot to system. I'm stuck at the USB logo, where usually I could reboot to fastboot (via pressing Power & Vol +) to fix this. But now I can't even access fastboot. When I press Power & Volume Up, it shows a battery icon. Please do help @XHook.

Sorry for panicking back there. I forgot the reboot to recovery way using Power & Volume down. At least I can still boot to my system. I'll try to find a DIY solution for this. Sorry for panicking, @XHook.

Your tool uses Fastboot of 4.3 version right? Is that the difference?

no more update? camera not found, can this method by xhook solve the problem?
i've tried this version, but make my bootloader missing/bricked, same with ezrawk post
Note : When I installed this version >> 3.24.40.87 latest stock lollipop firmware

I was using a custom recovery (TWRP) at that time so I flashed a fastboot via install. If you aren't using a custom recovery, you'd probably want to check this out: Zenfone 5 A500CG, Zenfone 6 A600CG Last chance to debrick (This fix youre IMEI) by swiczak
About the flashable fastboot, try searching for it in the Help & Troubleshooting part, I think the user who upload the flashable fastboot zip was tank0412. Try PM-ing him. Sorry can't help you about this 'cause I forgot where I saved mine.

Unlock bootloader without any bugs [Official method by ASUS]

Hi there,
I want to share with you a bootloader unlock method that worked perfectly for me.
STEPS:
Download official stock kitkat rom: ROM
Extract boot, fastboot and recovery from it and flash them from fastboot then flash the rom
Download official Asus tool for unlocking bootloader: TOOL
Install it and follow the procedure
If all goes fine when you switch on the phone the background behind the Asus logo is white instead of black.
It's easy and maybe a "stupid" method but it worked on my Zenfone 5 T00J.
The firmware listed in this topic is the only for me that allowed to use correctly the unlocking bl app.
If there are problems, I'm available :good:

My bootloader is alwery unlocked, but with black background, now I unlocked with this and its white, great , I was tired of that bootlogo

Works the same as all other methods, doesn't fix "freeze" or "no camera" issue...

Followed instruction carefully, all seem be right: black logo, white ground. But can not flash TWRP, how can flash cooked ROM?

Are you trying with command: fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img when the phone are in fastboot?

My bootloader unlocks fine, biut when I'm in unlocked state, my phone freezes every time.

I tried to use this mode, but it doesn't unlock, after the process, i go to fastboot and try to flash TWRP but it feedback that is an unsigned image

How many days have you used it after unlock bootloader? Try to flash some Roms yet?
And if your Zen still freeze even once... then delete this thread please.

I am on mnml by milano88 and I don't have any bugs from bootloader unlock.

I haven t relocked my bootloader because i am using a custom kernel so try another rom is not necessary

My recommendation:
- unlock the BL
- flash modded TWRP using fastboot
- perform a full wipe using TWRP
- convert "data" partition to F2FS using TWRP
- flash Open Beta 9 uisng TWRP
- flash SuperSU SR5 to gain ROOT access using TWRP
If you need further support, just ask

Without unlocking bootloader,can i flash a custom rom to my VIBE K5 Which doesnt have root access enabled and just twrp installed?

You only need twrp for installing custom ROM so no need of unlocking bootloader if you can get twrp without it .
Someone posted a method
Rename the twrp IMG to recovery.img and flash it using Lenovo smart assistant or qfil.
It worked for him but try it at your own risk

I dont recommend doing this to others. but just that it worked for him @meher777

The bootloader in this phone is already unlocked, you just need to enable OEM UNLOCK to allow modifications in the device.

You have to but there is no procedure as far as what i have done with the same phone.
Enable OEM UNLOCK in Dev Options. And then flash TWRP. And then flash SuperSu

Couse I want to buy it from my provider
And lets say in some phones like Sony Xperia
The provider locked bootloader so the phone
can not evan have root not to talk of twrp
So, is this phone having the same restrictions
Of getting bootloader locked permanently
Or never to be unlocked

There is no issue with unlocking bootloader except few exceptions. Unlocking bootloader workes in most cases and shouldn't be a problem .
If you want to buy a device go for some other it's a pretty old device now there are better options Available ex Redmi 4 , Redmi 4a or Redmi 5a according to availability in your country in exactly same budget if you get a little more budget go for some other.

Acutally I have already one good device
The Sony Xperia Xa1 Ultra
Its a device from may this year and it is for the price a very good value
But on that xperia I am locked couse of the bootloader
And can not flash anything
I have already got me the K5 Plus yesterday and I can not unlock the bootloader
But I have already flashed twrp and rooted..
Tried so far lineageOS and the AEX...
Also useing substratum on AEX
But anyway thanks for the advice I was already thinking of xiaomi redmi note 4X
Will see, couse I am changing devices very fast .. like few months and already getting new one

Try other commands like :
"fastboot flashing unlock" or if you are lucky your bootloader is already unlocked like it was for me

WARNING #1: Unlocking BL and flashing a custom recovery voids your warranty. Please make sure to contact your carrier/seller if your phone is still under warranty after unlocking the bootloader.
WARNING #2: Make sure you have enabled OEM unlock and unlocked bootloader before trying to flash this. How you can successful root and install TWRP will be described below.
WARNING #3: I'm not responsible if your brick your device,As always, any changes is risky ,so use with caution
HOW-TO INSTALL
0. Make sure you enabled OEM unlock in settings, if you haven't please do that now by tipping 10 times on build number (to activate developer options), than open developer options and go to OEM unlock, enable it
1. Have an unlocked bootloader is required!
2. Download the TWRP recovery from the download section below
3. Make sure you got fastboot drivers installed (I will describe this below in how to unlock your bootloader)
4. Open the adb/fastboot application on your pc and go to the directory where your TWRP img file is downloaded
5. Boot your phone into download mode (First method: fastboot reboot-bootloader while connected to pc. Second method: power off your phone, hit power on and volume down until it boots to download mode)
6. Check again if there is written: unlocked phone!
7. If yes type now into your adb/fastboot terminal: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp_recovery.img
8. Type: fastboot reboot
9. Now boot into recovery by pressing: power+volume up+volume down at the same time
10. Enjoy twrp

There is no custom rom for this device but u can use gsi rom.I am currently using corvus gsi

I am just curious after unlocking our bootloader, why can't we flash our phone with lineage ROM? What's the technical reasons for this restrictions.

Because no one is making Huawei nova 3i lineage os rom that's why only gsi is available.

How good is the GSI you're using? Is there any bugs?
There is also an AOSP rom in this xda thread by phhusson, are you familiar with it?
