Nexus 5x LGH791 - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have received new Nexus 5x LGH791, which is European version.
I live in North American and have T-moble service.
Would this phone with with T-mobile, including 4G LTE?
Also, would it work with Project Fi? I understand that Sprint is using CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM network, and this phone doesn't support CDMA. Can it still work with T-mobile only within Project Fi?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

two seconds of googling man. there are 3 versions:

Hi,
Thanks, I know that there are different phone versions. I was asking if my LGH791 'Rest of world' version of the phone would work with T-mobile's 4G LTE? I've read somewhere that T-mobile's 4G LTE works in B2 and B4 LTE bands, which this phone does support, and wanted to confirm that. Also, since Google's Project Fi works with T-mobile, then can this phone work with Project Fi also and stay only in T-mobile's network (not switching to Sprint's CDMA network)? Thanks!

LTE Frequencies:
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
Lower 700 MHz band 12 (in development) / in service in selected areas
3G/4G Frequencies (WCDMA):
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
2G Frequencies (GSM/GPRS/EDGE):
1900 MHz PCS band 2
Should be fine. I don't see why you'd have a problem with Project Fi, it just wouldn't ever see CDMA.

You won't have band 12, but neither do I since we get to enjoy the lovely TV channel 51 instead.

Sorry for my noob question, would flashing a newer baseband/radio help to get band 12 on h791?

No, available frequencies would depend on hardware.

Thank you. However, I found a few topics that some users had difficulties with band 12 with US version, by my understanding the issue is related to providers, mostly t-mobile. Do you know what this is all about?

No, I haven't really cared about band 12 since i found out my metro area wouldn't get it until they get rid of the TV station

I just don't want it to toggle from LTE to 2G, heh...

Yes. Default preference order is LTE, then HSPA+/WCDMA, then EDGE/GPRS/GSM

Oneplus 3 N. America model utilizes CDMA...

Anyone else notice the GSM Arena band listings for the OnePlus 3 states CDMA for the North America model? Anyone planning on using this phone for a carrier on a CDMA network, what are your thoughts?

There's no CDMA.
Is there a source? Personally I use AT&T, and I see if it is true what is showing, then it is 3g CDMA data only, but you say just no. Trying to help others who may be interested to know this what they may be getting...
According to the OnePlus website it does include CDMA, but it won't work on LTE on Sprint or Verizon. It does not have any of Sprint's LTE bands and does not have Verizon's main LTE band, and neither carrier would activate it because of that.
My guess is it is possibly for abroad CDMA then.

I bought a LG-H791F and I did not remember to look where the correct model to my country.
In my city does not have 4G yet.

Okay. That's my fault. I overlooked the "F" in your model number. Sorry. Here are the specs for your LG-H791F:
B1 (2100) LTE
B2 (1900 PCS) LTE
B3 (1800 +) LTE
B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1) LTE
B5 (850) LTE
B7 (2600) LTE
B20 (800 DD)
LTEB28 (700 APT) LTE
You device supports LTE bands 3, 7 and 28 which are used by all the Brazilian carriers except SKY Brazil and ON Telecom which use Band 38.
The 3G bands that are supported by your device are as follows:
B1 (2100) UMTS
B2 (1900 PCS) UMTS
B5 (850) UMTS
B8 (900 GSM) UMTS
Now, your device does support all of the Brazilian carriers UMTS 3G & HSPA networks because all of the carriers use Band 1 and Band 5.
Also, you specific device supports all of the 2G networks as well for each carrier. Looks like you are good to go.
H791(F),maybe refer to FDD only model, network goes like
GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900,
UMTS850 (B5), UMTS900 (B8), UMTS1900 (B2), UMTS2100 (B1),
LTE2100 (B1),LTE1800 (B3),LTE1900 (B2), LTE1700/2100 (B4), LTE850 (B5), LTE2600 (B7), LTE800 (B20), LTE700 (B28)
Frequency band allocation of Brazil is same as Europe,Band 3 (1800) Band 7(2600) for most carriers,
And how did you get such an interesting version?Willing sharing a QPST QCN backup for band unlocking?

Verizon Specific Radio?

As the title states, is there a VZW specific radio for the Pixel 2 XL? I have the unlocked international version of the phone.
I've loaded a custom ROM, but the signal strength is poor and data is constantly dropping or switching from 4G > 3G.

I did find this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/how-to/testing-performed-factual-information-t3702662
I've also tried all combo's of network type, but nothing seems to help. My 6P runs on VZW just fine using the "Global" for preferred network type.
There's also a post on one of the ROM threads where VZW peeps are having the same issues. I had to revert back to my 6P as the Pixel was unusable with the signal and data drops.

Ignore the LG site.
It only lists bands which are supported DIRECTLY in that region, not the bands the phone supports via hardware.
Where are you buying the phone from? The seller should list the bands on the phone, but all the bands are printed on the box itself.
The phones also say "GSM only no CDMA" but WCDMA bands even work. I don't know if CDMA or WCDMA are the same thing or not.
Keep in mind ONLY the european version (not the EAW) can be rooted right now.
Here are the bands the EAW version supports:
. GSM: 850.900/1800/1900. WCDMA: 850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100. TD-SDMA: 1900/2000. LTE: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B13/B17/B20/B28/B38/B39/B40/B41
Working perfect for me here in Europe.

I answered this question earlier in your other post. Remember I own this phone on tmobile.
No one uses band 66 or 71 from what i've seen anywhere.
Tmobile uses band 4, 2 in some areas, or 12. At least from what I've seen.
You're overanalyzing things now.
I've tested the bands in the service menu.
Why don't you call t-mobile and ask them if they use a strange band like 66 in your area? I've never heard of that before.

Does the LMG710EAW really support both bands 7 and 20? My research turned up that it supported band 7 (2600mhz) but not band 20 (800 mhz) or is this just due to them only listings bands from that region?
I ordered one without maybe doing my due diligence and Vodafone UK for 4G is bands 7 and 20
I have both LMG710EAW and LMG710ULM in hands, LMG710EAW doesn't seem to support B20, as in the parking area I get 4G on ULM but not with EAW.
But it's strange as today I had a look on the original packing of ULM, it's written with B20 support???
Also from LG site, FDD 4G Networks, without B20: 2100(B1) / 1800(B3) / 850(B5) / 2600(B7) / 900(B8) / 700(B28) MHz
