Mediatek Helio X10 source code? - Sony Xperia M5

Hey fellow M5 users, I happened to stumble upon this Github page that happens to have the source code for the Helio X10 source code.
Can anyone verify?

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Official Release

Does anyone have any news on the official release of Cyanogenmod 9 for us?
I know that drk.hd has his unofficial release available, but I haven't heard anything about a release candidate for dinc yet.
Because there isn't one. No one has submitted code up through Gerrit for review, so nothing has been reviewed and possibly merged.

Cynogenmod or slimkat

Any chance of having cynogenmod or slimkat on x or xl.
I want my next phone to be supported by those.
Thanks

There was news some time ago that Abhisek Devkota has a device and probably working on it. Need to wait a bit more. Device is not on the market yet, well it is starting to be sold so we need to wait. Although I think that even though specs are not super this phone will be very interesting option if equipped with CM11.

Are there any information if they are going to realease it? Samsung does also push their sources just a while after the realeas of a phone.

Are the companies who use the AOSP as 'base' for their ROMs committed to realease the sources?

We could write an Email.. Maybe they will tell us when they are going to release it. I don't know the release date of the the Nokia Xs, but I think they are going to push the sources a few days after the phone got released. Samsung and all the other companies are doing it the same way. Before I bought a N5, I have had an Ace II and we never got a full source code. Functions like OMX were very hard to get working without these sources. So we can just hope that they are dev-friendly and release a complete kernel source.

I would advise neither, coming from a device that uses a similar SoC. you don't have full hardware acceleration on newer android versions, and the gpu is really not all that good..
I would advise staying clear of the Nokia X

Yes, it is true, on my huawei y300 (same cpu and gpu) on kitkat there is not full HWA, ui is laggy and play games is very bad, this because qualcomm does not release adreno 200 drivers for android 4.3-4.4... hope that the cm team can do something

err, it's because we don't support 4 layer composition. nothing to do with the adreno blobs
Kitkat not possible on Nokia X then?

Cm news
"During our trip to MWC at the end of February we were able to secure an X from the Nokia team. There has been a substantial interest in this device from the community. While we won’t commit to releasing a proper ‘release’ (the hardware is more than a bit lacking) we have sent our X to dhacker29 to get up a source tree for the community. Just because CM won’t release a build doesn’t mean we can’t help other ROMs in the process. Nokia, to their credit, has already provided kernel source upon request and the bootloader is unlocked on this device – plenty of fun for the community to be had"
dhacker 29 is a very good developer hy is mantling the official cm for moto g

Will the 5s get less support than the 5?

Looking at the mi4, it has more software support/updates than the mi4s, do you think this time around it will be the same?
it depends on xiaomi if they will release the sources faster.
The Mi4S is a completely different device than the Mi4S, meaning, the device tree has very little in common.
In fact, the Mi4 is more related to - and share the same release as - the Mi3, which helped both to grow, with the Mi3 having the Snapdragon 800 and the Mi4 the Snapdragon 801.
The Mi4S has the Snapdragon 808, which is a very different SoC, namely the 64-bits and big.LITTLE architecture.
The differences between the Mi5 and the Mi5S are not that big, so a comparison between the addition of the 'S' on the Mi4 and Mi5 is not possible.
But their codenames are different, and the Mi3 shared the same as the Mi4.
Codenames:
Mi3 and Mi4 - Cancro
Mi4S - Aqua
Mi5 - Gemini
Mi5S - Capricorn
The development is linked to two things: release of source-code and popularity (which is linked to sales).
So, it will all depend on the sales of these phones.
India has an important role in this, as the more devices are sold, the more development there will be.
As an example I give you Xiaomi Redmi 1S, which has "everything" on XDA
With the latest MIUI 9, even Xiaomi mi4, mi4i, mi4c are getting it.
So i would say the mi5s will at least get next 3 MIUI's, till miui 12, you getting my point

[ARTICLE] Aquaris Dev - Device Status [02/03/18]

News!
Device Status – June, 2018
Hello all and welcome to the June aquaris-dev team update of 2018,
Another 2 months has passed, with not too much excitement publicly (apart from that April Fools drama) - big news this month arrives. We missed a May update, but we were hard at work regardless. We won’t cover the stats this time, but you can see the stats of how popular our BQ devices are by checking on the LineageOS stats site.
Our BQ device news now
This month, we only really have news about the BQ Aquaris X/X Pro (bardock/bardockpro) device (it’s our first 64bit device) as we haven’t had a whole bunch of time to work on our projects.
We want to share our appreciation to BQ as they released the Aquaris X/X-Pro Oreo kernel source code before the shipping public OTA (as the their final BETA build was the same as the shipping GMS build) which is a great step for any OEM.
We’ll look into at supporting our older devices (msm8937 based as they MAY receive Oreo from BQ at some point) first with Android Oreo (Lineage 15.1) but as always, we are not promising support for these devices - if you have contributions to make, please get in contact to help speed up this project..
If the community is interested, we might do a blog post in the future explaining some of the challenges of porting LineageOS to devices so our readers can learn about why things take so long.
Aquaris X / Aquaris X Pro - Status (bardock/bardockpro)
We’ll work on getting final things tuned for a official LineageOS 15.1 release in the very near future. We don’t recommend using unofficial builds that are floating around on the internet for the device as we’ll be working on supporting official builds later .

Any news about the Lineage OS version for the BQ Aquaris X Pro? I'm trying to find a rom that looks similar to the stock one, and dotOS looks pretty strange to me, sorry for my english, take it easy
Same here, really would appreciate it! You guys rock

General Source code for Mi Pad 5 released!

Good morning!
Seems like the source code of Pad 5 kernel is released, good news!
Lets see developers what gonna do.
GitHub - MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource at nabu-r-oss

That are not news. The kernel sources have been released last year. Short after the Pads Release. So far there are no working custom roms or recoveries. It looks like that no experienced ROM Dev owns a Nabu.
Tests by unexperienced rom builders:
Broken TWRP: https://github.com/bm0x/twrp_device_xiaomi_nabu
Broken LOS Tree: https://github.com/faberto/android_device_xiaomi_nabu
Ohh... I didn't know, that's so sad...
Thanks for the information!
I bought this tablet because it's nice (value-for-money-wise), but I also hoped there would be some dev support to give it awesome roms. That's definitely the case for the Mi Pad 4. Any reason why this one is not that popular? Or is it still too soon?

Maybe because it has not been released in India yet.
im just wondering,
this pad is excellent.
what exactly do you expect to be added if port rom is developed?
Netflix HD is not working for me (widevine problems on a global stock firmware, I don't understand why), and after some usage, I prefer the stock android / pixel experience UI more than MIUI
