Again this is based on mashmallow, will it work on lollipop devices?

I'm getting a security alert

ENG = engineering kernel. It's an insecure development kernel leaked by someone on the inside. FWIW, I'm passing on this one.

Can we get a bump? vikes4life how is it? Do you have su working?

The eng.sboot works and i'll be able to get su working using this methol( http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-...-snag-t3334546 ) posted by metalcated. However, it just a tether root for me to unlock or read/write cert. By any change, someone has a stock firmware for PB2 baseband or a stock system.img please post. Thanks

How'd you do it?

Credit goes to @Michael3214. He described a way to achieve root with root apps working on our ATT note 5 with lollipop. Check it out here:

This rooting technique Finally worked you will need three files
1) SDK TOOLS from
2) recovery.img from
3)MRKREHANROOT from
you should have unlock boot loaders USB drivers installed and should be on android 4.3
copy mrkrehanrehanroot3.1.zip in sdcard

Extract the sdktools and place the revovery.img in that folder
then with one finger on shift key right click in an empty space in the folder and select open command window here
then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I use that method, cannot restore any app with TB or install Busybox, for some reason it's root but not completely.
This thread shouldn't be in dev section, and there were bunch of root method threads/posts that could be easily found.

Titanium Backup is an example of such an app. It may incorrectly detect the path to your internal storage for backups, and thus crash on backup/restore. You can fix this by going into preferences and selecting a folder under /storage/emulated/legacy as backup/restore path, not under /storage/emulated/0.

I have read that. Only problem with recovery is the kernel. Zvd kernel has knock code where the modified does not.
Will it allow you to boot and run the usual Rom... Yes.

You mean the knock code password screen tap thing? If so I'm using it now.
With the screen off, knock lock screen. You can turn the screen on and unlock phone when you tap in the dark(screen off) sections?
Example
Screen off you tap 2 times on lower left and 2 times lower right. Screen turns on and its unlocked. Home screen?

@dorimanx Maybe on your next build you can add the Sprint knock code update?

This was put together by @ayuready1989 and @Tactic13

Install Recovery Z1 Locked Bootloader works fine here you use option 1 to install the recovery
Deodex patch Mega ; Dev-Host Download and flash threw recovery.
We will keep working on this and try to get you guys running with a deoxed and SuperUserMod for you guys. Deodex has been uploaded and Superusermod can be used through xposed

Quick, unlock the bootloader first because it's now or never!!!
As for updating, FXZ packages are suitable for all phones regardless of lock status, though you will lose your app data AND internal storage content in the process - please make backups.

You won't lose data if you use my tools to flash it. Nor does the current version of the FXZ have the erase data line. When the official one gets posted to sbf it may have the erase data line in it, but that will literally be the only difference.

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/85706/G530T1UVU1AOH9_G530T1TMB1AOH9_TMB/
Get this downloaded and flash via recovery/flashfire(by this u will lose ur root access)/odin(laptop or computer needed)
If u wanna use flashfire and dont want ur mobile to lose ur root then will have to add the supersu file for g530t1 after the firmware. Sequence below
1. Firmware
2.supersu file
This may be risky as i have not tried that.!!!!!

Is there a way to do this without a laptop? I don't have access to one now.
