I tried adb shell on the phone terminal didn't work.
Must it be done on the computer?
IF this works please tell us step by step; it's really confusing.
Edit:
After this flash too I noticed my wifi doesn't act right... I have to keep putting in the password.

Hey I odin flashed back to stock because this "Systemless Root" not what we were looking for to replace true root. . . I even tried the real "Root" which after doing so you can't reboot & it got stuck in the recovery because not supposed to reboot... So I guess we just wait for a better hack to come along because this hack sucks ass.
I used this to odin back http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s6-edge-plus/general/g928a-odin-restore-files-t3214359

I'm about to leave samsung and go to LG anyways but wanted to try it out before I sold it.
I'd been happy if I could of gotten wifi tether to work but nope.... G5 gonna be awesome though and hope to have more support than this device which I highly regret getting..

Android Commander allways reporting no root access

Please can someone explain why android commander is allways reporting me my HOX has no root access?
This happens to me on every rom I've tried yet.
Or is this related to S-On?
Try rooting a few times, make sure busy box is installed and use different methods to root if available.

Connect your phone to your pc and execute these
Code:
adb shell su
then you should get this # if you have root
!!!Solution
"The Root access : No because" you'r using the stock rom which have a "secured adb" (even when you'r rooted)
Download the "adbd insecure" in this thread and "Enable insecure adbd", problem solve:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590
problem not solved for SM-T900

You re-rooted after Busybox, so you rooted a second time ?
and now you have Root access : availlable in Android Comander ?
You have the galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 ?

No, not the Galaxy but was having the same problem with Android Commander not recognizing root. Saw the post above about re-rooting and also applying the adb insecure app. Did both and I mean just doing the same root process without un-rooting first. I use Super One Click for my phone. Anyway, still didn't work.
So I downloaded BusyBox Free from the playstore and installed it. Ran Super One Click again, also doing the Shell root, and it worked! Don't know if coincidence or just got lucky but posted hoping it might help others.

I already have Busybox installed and ticked option in adb insecure app so I will try to re-root my SM-T900 but I don't believe it'll work
It worked on Huawei Honor 6 L02 with root, busybox + adbinsecure. Thank you all for the tips.
Same issue in my side
I am using Xolo Q900 and installed MIUI custom rom for the device.
But When I connect android commander its showing no root access.
I have tried the Insecure ADB but it failed to patch. showed an error message "Patching not done"
Also showing USB debugging not enable but I have enabled it and its showing active in my phone.
When I am opening titanium backup in my phone Its showing I have root access. I have also installed new version of Busy Box but still no heal.
Can anybody help me on this?
It worked
After installing the ADB Insecure [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26885208] I can now see the Root status OK in Android Commander.
I was making mistake in the Permission Manager in MIUI rom. After allowing the ADB Insecure app from there I was able to patch.
Although You need to restart it again after exiting from the app or phone restart.
My device xolo q900
My moto G xt1031 is on lollipop 5.0.2 running stock. What i did was go to the binary file in AC. delete everything in it and then replace the adb file frome the most current version. Then i installed adb insecure on my phone. works great now.

Original stock firmware?

Would anyone know where to find the original stock rom and flashing method?
Why would you need it if there is no alternative right now? Stock is all you can have so do a factory reset if required.
Sent from my SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
For example you need a stock rom to unroot your device. Factory reset doesn't work for unrooting. So the questions from @ekolb123 is very good. I agree to the question.
You can unroot from within the supersu app under settings.
Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk 4
LG has posted the source for the G Pad: https://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=NAME&search=LGV500
However until now there isn't any way to unlock/hack the bootloader, and so you cant flash it.
Most of us rooted with Kingoroot. Can't you just unroot with that and then factory reset in the stock recovery?
I'm currently working on a stock, rooted ROM but as I'm very new at this, I'm having quite a bit of difficulty.
Once I'm able to actually get it to build, then I can work on figuring out our new LOKI support and get CWM up and running.
what buttons do i press upon booting up to get to recovery to factory reset my device. i already unrooted. thanks.
edit: nevermind, figured it out. it's in system settings, and you can also press and hold Volulme Down + Power and then when you see LG let go of Power and press and hold it again.

Good news.
I tried to get CWM working and although it built i only achieved to brick my tablet.
The good news is that now i've found tutorials to unbrick it (in fact any recent LG smartphone or tablet).
To download the rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073827
model is v500
Go to download mode by pressing volume+ and keeping it pressed connect your usb cable to your pc (the tablet must be off)
To flash the rom : http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/167696-tuto-flasher-une-rom-officielle-en-kdz/ (translated by google: http://translate.google.fr/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.frandroid.com%2Ftopic%2F167696-tuto-flasher-une-rom-officielle-en-kdz%2F&act=url)

Hello guys, wednesday I will have in my hands the G Pad..
I practiced a lot of modding on my N7000, but I've never created anything personal on my smartphone.
I wanted to know what is missing, until now, in order to start modding our G Pad.
LG has released the firmware or am I wrong? What is missing to create custom rom starting from the stock firmware?
thanks :victory:

We're missing recovery. We've got a bootloader workaround with LOKI and we've got the stock source. We just need a working recovery.
thank you for the reply,
so, for example, if coming out a version of CWM you could do it all, in total security (because now you can do the root but do not go back, right?) ?

[Q] Rooting on 4.3

Hello all,
I recently got my hands on a Note 2 running Android 4.3 on the MK6 bootloader. I have done a bit of research, but am still somewhat confused about how to root the phone. If I am correct, I just use Odin to flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
Onto the phone to have root access, correct?
Next, if I want to have CWM, I flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159652
If there are any steps I am missing, please let me know. I would like to procede with as much knowledge as possible to avoid bricking the phone. I am aware that doing this will trip the Knox e-fuse, and I am ok with that.
Thanks in advance!

Superuser installation issues after installing over SuperSU
It seems SuperSU is writing a file that is confusing Superuser installation on stock builds. If you want to install Superuser over SuperSU, you will need to manually remove the /system/etc/.has_su_daemon file.
I have the /system/etc/.has_su_daemon file.l I'm creating a CWM zip to remove it.
Hopefully that's the solution.

But I did kick it's a$$.
Like I said earlier I running the 【ROM】【March 01】【4.3】Note2_lte_e250_R7. 2 . It's a N7105 port for the ATT.
So I knew there was something called a Multitool in the N7105 threads from Dr Ketan.
I flashed that in TWRP, it's an aroma install type flash, so I only choose Root and install Busybox.
Like all of our other flash installs it looked like it completed successfully.
Every flash or ODIN I've done or most today, I've gotten into adb shell and did
ls -l /system/xbin/su. never saw the file.
After flashing root and busybox I finally saw
[email protected]:/ $ ls -l /system/xbin/su
-rwxr-xr-x root root 100452 2008-08-01 05:00 su
Woo Hoo !
Got into phone, ran supersu, still said no binary.
Not sure why I did this really buy I typed su while in adb shell, Supersu window popped up on my phone, I clicked accept and all root stuff is working.
I have no clue why this worked. But it did, for me anyways. Hopefully it'll work for you, Luigi.

So, let me get this straight:
I don't need the ROM you're running on my phone. What I should do is find the Multitool, flash it via recovery, and root and Busybox. Then, connect my phone to my computer to run adb (which I don't really know how to do, so I'll have to look that up), type in su, and then from there everything should work as normal.
Also, an extra piece of information I forgot to mention earlier that you might find useful: SuperSU does NOT start at all; it just immediately closes when I click the icon, and then the Knox warning comes up. Did this happen for you?

Really have no clue. All I know is it worked for me.
For me SuperSU opened all he way. It told me I didn't have the su binary, do a manually install. Everything I did, did not work until my last post. 99% sure it will work for you.
For ADB use this....
http://four-nineteen.com/veronica/XDA Developers/Nook Tablet/DRIVERs/ADB + Fastboot + Drivers.zip
Unzip and save only the files that start with ADB. Create a directory like ADB under C:\.
Copy all the ADB files to C\ADB
Go to command prompt in windows, cd to c:\adb directory (whatever you created)
Type adb devices. Make sure it has a device listed
C:\xUltimate-v2.4.2\jar>adb devices
List of devices attached
8675309JennieJennie device
If so, type adb shell
C:\xUltimate-v2.4.2\jar>adb shell

Just found something else that works.... I've tried it also.
Flash the AGNI kernel. (Awesome addition to a ROM)
https://app.box.com/s/9wlk6y1o50gbhmhvjp2u
Credit to @mjohnson4580 for fix.
Then flash the root update.
http://download.chainfire.eu/382/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip
See what that does.
Here's info in the kernel

after Chimera last night I'm gonna wait on this one a bit... fingers are crossed and hoping it's legit.
Is this working withe the A01J firmware or does it need to be downgraded to AOGG then be flashed?
because i found the same file associated with N920AUCE2APB2 firmware , which is based on mashmallow. So i guess this will be useless for devices with lollipop

you got Dl links to the stock boot.img file ?
It would be awesome if this works..
Instructions unclear...hoping someone gives this a try. Also hoping it's not system-less so we are able to use root apps.

try kingroot can add binary.
Can any one confirm this work on this N920AUCE2APB2 firmware?
I tried it on the firmware just prior to this one. It was not full root. It seemed more of a core root. There was no Su capability. I would not be surprised if it did not work on your current firmware as I believe it to be the security patch for this root method
Check out the about those root files. You can root with the method founds.
Took a cursory look. Seems a bit complicated, but will investigate further when time permits. Thanks for the direction.
Can you provide more directions with the methods involved tried the cmd but kept saying about (missing apk)?. Don't know what that means. Can you assist?

Lineage OS can't get root acces... HELP!

Hello everyone! I installed recently Lineage OS 14.1 on my Zenfone 2 and I saw that there is root acces just for ADB.. so I googled the thing and I found out that I had to install the su binary.. so , I downloaded it , booted into recovery, flashed the zip( successfully), booted the system and went into settings and I saw that now I have access to root for apps to.. until here , everything was nice, but after that, I downloaded Root Checker to verify if the root is working and guess what? It wasn't.. I searched everywere, but no results..if somebody can help me, please reply.. Regards.
Have you tested it, by connected via ADB and do a "su" command? Same with a terminal emulator on your phone?
> just saw that I have access to it
You should choose that, man.

Have you tried running the command "adb root" first and then "adb shell" ?
Did you install the superuser x86 zip from LineageOS - https://download.lineageos.org/extras? I know you said you did, but make sure it's the x86 version. You'll also need to go back to root access and turn it on for apps and adb.

I have the same problem, I installed the superuser x86 zip from from link and enabled the apps and adb but the root checker still says that my device is not rooted.
Fixed superuser download.

I registered just to thank you!
In my case it wouldn't not only not work with the official LineageOS root method, it wouldn't accept any other method I tried.
The ones I tried (Magisk and SuperSU) got me stuck into recovery boot without being able to get back to the system and I had to do a clean flash to get it back working again.
Fortunately this solution worked and now I have my Zenfone 2 rooted. Thanks!
