LG-H798 - HK Version - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the difference between the LG-H798 - HK Version and the LG-H791 version? Thank you.

Only difference I see is that the LG-H798 is a China, Hong Kong variant of the model and the LGH791 is various international variant model as the LG-H790 is USA, Mexico variant model of the LG Nexus 5X
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

HK (Hong Kong) version supports only a subset of global 3G and LTE bands:
3G: 1,2,5,8
TDD: 38,40,41
FDD: 1,3,7,8,26

It(H798) is all the networks working on follow:
CDMA:BC0
3G: WCDMA1,2,5,8; TDSCDMA 34,39
TDD: 38,39,40,41
FDD: 1,3,7,8,26
note,it support cdma.

Does the HK version support lte bands in use for AT&T?

[Q] LTE support

hi, does anyone getting LTE support in his country?
did someone from Israel buy this phone?
i ordered ze551 4Gb/64Gb, and i am really nervous about the LTE support.
please ack.
thanks a lot.
I have the WW ZE551 and have LTE on T-Mobile in MO, USA. (I also had a TW model and worked LTE as well. No bluetooth though so that is why I returned it.)
Thanks, i wonder, if the CN version has the same bands for LTE as we do at Israel, will it work?
Hello,
CN version:
FDD-LTE: (CN/IN version)
2100MHz(1)/1800MHz(3)
TDD-LTE: (CN/IN version)
2600MHz(38)/1900MHz(39)/2300MHz(40)/2500MHz(41)
It looks like Israel is on band 3, so you should be good. No guarantees of course. Let us know how it turns out.
Sure, thanks for the reply[emoji106] [emoji106]
Finally got my zf2! Got CN version with WW firmware and LTE is working here at Israel

[Q] Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML MODEL ASUS_ZOOAD 3g

I need help, i want to buy a zenfone 2 from alegrecompra, but i dont know if the version Z00AD support 3G wcdma, i live in latin america.
Does anyone has bought this version?
I made a similar question but nobody answered.
I understand that if your buying it from a Chinese based site you will get the CN version.
CN version definitely lacks many LTE bands support compared to TW or WW version, but apparently it supports the same WCDMA bands as the others, and, on top of that, it also supports TD-CDMA bands only useful in China, but never got any confitmation first hand, only real way to tell for sure would be if someone with that CN version confirms they get WCDMA coverage with a provider using the same bands as your company...
It would be wiser to get the TW version instead but its harder to find an online store selling it apart from eBay sellers and also it should be a bit more expensive I guess...

H+ 3G WCDMA 2100 on CN version working confirmed. Haven't tested the other bands, but if 2100 is working the other ones should be too.
Thanks! I think its safe to assume then that WCDMA support is same across all regional versions...
Work here in Mauritius but not on all operator. One operator it show the H but download is 2G

It works on 3G WCDMA, I just bought the CN version and it working on band 1900.
@OP
I suggest you buy the Zenfone 2 that you mentioned in your post. That is an America Version that can be used in Latin America as well.
IMHO, do not buy the China or Taiwan Variants as those were specifically for Asian Continent.
Good Luck.

The only Freq/band that the Z00AD (WW) doesn't support that the US version supports is 700 MHz/Band 17 -- there are some South/Central American providers that use that frequency, but not many.
Here's the breakdown of frequencies from the ASUS site:

Does the ZF2 (USA Model) have AWS(1700/2100) Band for 3G/HSPA (not LTE)?

As above, does the ZF2 (USA Model) have AWS(1700/2100) Band for 3G/HSPA (not LTE)?
I'm getting conflicting specs from various sources, but most of them seem to indicate that the AWS(1700/2100) Band is for LTE only and not 3G/HSPA. Am I correct?
I think you are correct. I usually go by the specs in GSM arena, and they indicate the same.

I think it does have AWS on 3g, I did a chat with ASUS before and they said it does support it and said their website was outdated
Hi. Just wanted to tell that I bought a Zenfone 2 about 2 weeks ago from amazon and it DOES work perfectly with AWS on 3G (UMTS/HSPA) (I have a subscription with Nextel Chile and they only use AWS, if there is no signal it will start roaming (happened a few times in an underground, and when it does it shows an R next to the signal bar).
I bought an international unlocked version of the phone from amazon while I was in the States (almost returned it bc I saw a few posts saying that it had no support for AWS). The exact link to the amazon page where I bought it is the following: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenFone-...UTF8&qid=1433552355&sr=1-1&keywords=zenfone+2
If you check the amazon description, it DOES say that it support AWS (it lists UMTS/HSPA bands 1700/2100 which is a common way to call the AWS band).
Still, YMMV and although it worked perfectly for me, I'm not giving you any warranty.
If there's a way to check the current band my phone is using, I'd be interested in checking this out and posting a picture.
It has B4 HSPA according to FCC (great for T-Mobile and Wind).

I am using the ww version in Canada and works on wind mobile aws perfectly.

Here in Canada, the Wind Mobile network is exclusively AWS(1700/2100) Band IV for 3G/HSPA.
My Zenfone 2 is working perfectly on the network.
PS. There is no US version of the phone, only the North American version.

Best version for Quebec(Canada) between LG-H790 and LG-H791

Hello, i'm french and i want to go to Quebec.
I know there 2 version of Nexus 5X, LG-H790 and LG-H791.
North American model (LG-H790):
UMTS/WCDMA bands: 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA band class: 0/1/10
LTE (FDD) bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/20/25/26/29
LTE (TDD) bands: 41
International model (LG-H791):
UMTS/WCDMA bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/9/19
LTE (FDD) bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/18/19/20/26/28
LTE (TDD) bands: 38/40/41
What is the best version for Quebec between LG-H791 and LG-H790 ?
Thanks !
Even know Quebec wants to leave Canada from time to time it's still considered North America

Differences between US and Euro Version

Hi
Can someone tell me if there is any difference between the US and the Euro version of the Pixel ?
Do they use the same LTE Bands ?
Thx
Lionel
Would like to know as well
There's a $200 difference somewhere!
Just bands and likely the absence in the US model of the certification label at the bottom of the back of the device (like Nexus 6P, that hasn't them in the US version and has them in the international version).
The bands are different. The USA model wouldn't be able to use 4G in Europe. You'd be stuck using 3G.

are you sure ? In my country (Switzerland) we use mostly LTE Bands 3,7 and 20 and as you can see, the 3 bands are in both version.
I only see a difference in the LTE 2X CA and LTE 3X CA where the combinaison are not the same.
Can someone confirm ?

My advice is to wait and see. Google posted a similar spec sheet last year for the Nexus 6P. It was corrected after while. It would be wise to wait until the phone is actually out and see if the page gets corrected.
Should the page be correct, then the USA version will work in Europe. You just won't have lte-advanced. Carrier aggregation depends on band combinations. None of the European bands are combined on the USA version.
Why nobody knows the real name of the models? For the Nexus 5 there was the D820 and D821, what about Pixel?
Here are the answers you guys been waiting for:

FCC changed the rules to allow for device certification notices to be part of the Firmware, Google took advantage of this with the NA model (Settings > About Phone > Regulatory Labels), I'm guessing that there are territories outside USA & Canada that still require the labels on the body of the device.
Yeah that's pretty much what I said lol
US-Model works in Switzerland
according to this site the us-model will work with all bands of all carriers within switzerland: frequencycheck.com/compatibility/kR11C21/google-pixel-xl-2-phone-td-lte-na-g011c-lg-taimen/switzerland
If you are a Project Fi user, another important difference is that you can not use Project Fi with the international version of the Pixel XL.

From that list, it seems that while the international version supports almost all of the bands that the US version does and then some, the US version is still better in the US due to more applicable carrier aggregation support.
