xperia M5 is a dual E5663 with root ( stock rom )
Thanks

AFAIK Flashtool is not compatible with Xperia M5/C5 Ultra yet, in some cases it can brick the device. If you need to reinstall the firmware, at the moment only Sony Update Service or Repair option in PC Companion/Xperia Companion are safe, but they'll completely wipe your personal data...

[Q] HELP: Xperia M dual - "Type password to decrypt storage"

Dear Sirs
I am new to this forum and this is my first post.
I purchased sony Speria M Dual in Dec 2013.
In the month of march 2014, Phone developed a bug. One morning, when i switched on the phone after charging, phone is showing following message " Type password to decrypt storage". However, i had not set any password.
Then i took this phone to service center in Mumbai. After 15-20 days, they informed me that phone's mother board is locked and they have to change the motherboard to correct this error. And they also informed that changing mother board does not fall under WARRANTY. So they refused to solve the problem.
Phone is not rooted, Bootloader is locked. Phone is running on stock firmware...i think 4.1.2
I have tried flashing the phone thru PC companion ...but it says "update unsuccessful".
I have tried flashtool also...but again not successful.
Phone is not entering into Recovery mode.
I request you to help in resolving this problem
Regards
Kapil
Common problems disappear when flashing hh use flashtool.
Can you give me log in flashtool?
Sory for my engelish
That's nonsense! They're just basically going after the money. You don't have to replace the motherboard, that's rubbish. All you have to do is to download Flashtool by Androxyde, make sure that you have installed the proper drivers, download any FTF from the Android Development section that suits you, then flash it. If you need a more detailed explanation, then just reply...

Yes, please do post your log fron flashtool. what sony has said is a load of bullcrap, the warranty should cover it, your phone is faulty. Just for my own curiosity, do you have the adb drivers for your phone installed? And also which drivers did you install from the drivers folder in flashtool?

Okay, from the log it shows it can't flash the kernel from the ftf. Download a 4.2.2 ftf (the one for your device, 4.1.2 is for the single SIM) or a 4.3 ftf for the dual SIM and try flashing them. Post the logs, preferably in text format rather than picture format, if you get more errors.

Ok, i think i know what you might be doing wrong. Just tell me, (1) do you first press flash and wait for it to tell you to connect your phone.(2) Or do you connect your phone in flashmode and then press flash.
Just tell me 1 or 2

Download the firmware what you are currently running (15.2.A.1.12) and then press the lightning bolt in flashtool. Then click flash mode and then select the 15.2.A.1.12 firmware. Click the checkbox next to kernel and then click flash.
It appears as though your device is going into a read only state once it tries to flash the kernel.

Flashmode is working with the LED turning on expectedly
I really hope this doesn't mean a bricked phone...

i don't know what to do, now i realized that recovery from archidroid does not work, it boots normally, but doesn't react to touch or buttons, i needed to flash recovery XM DUAL 4.3 philz 6.50.6 For 15.5.A.1.5 using flashtool to do something.
please help!!!
Did you include all (except for TA) partitions in the FTF? I would suggest you include them all and wipe /data and /cache.
i managed to fix the problem, i restored TA partition and flashed new soft using pc companion. everythhing's working.

Sony Xperia S Bootloop Issue

I have recently rooted my Sony Xperia S without any trouble. And also restarted the phone without any trouble. But after I installed a Unicode font using another app and given the super user permission to font folder. And after that I have restarted the phone and stuck in bootloop. I can see Sony logo and then Xperia logo and restarting repeatedly. I have some files to recover. But the device is not recognized by ADB.
So please help me to solve this issue.

Did You also flashed a recovery? If yes, You could try flashing a ROM. If not, flash stock FTF using Flashtool.
I've same problem.
ftf flashing don't work with using flashtool

It seems You have not selected the correct ftf. You have selected the ftf to relock bootloader. Did You save ftf file to C:\Flashool\firmwares ?
No i've ftf in C:\Users\abc\.flashTool\firmwares location. i tried many versions of stock rom, from C:\flashtool\firmwares location i got same error.

You have the ftf in correct location, but doesn't flashtool ask You to select ftf before flashing? Else try this ftf, it worked fine for many users.
still the same problem... phone is in recovery mode and can't open it, i think.. maybe there is no cmw recovery instaled right now.

Recovery wouldn't matter now. Can You give Me the link of ftf You are trying to use? If You can download, I would recommend using ftf from here.
That is the one i used while trying to flash. In flashtool i have no option to wipe data when im trying to flash instead of this i can wipe userdata and app_log only... maybe something is wrong with my version of flashtool...
