Info request - Pixel C Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my pixel c and while i wait on usb type c cables to arrive in the mail - cheap **stards - Can someone write up a quick tutorial on boot.img extraction and repacking for this Frankenstein coreboot creation? I would greatly appreciate it!

unpack/repack boot.img
I'm a developper and these informations are very important to understand and mod Pixel C.
I will be very interested too to have some info about how to unpack/repack boot.img for pixel c (as it's a chromeos boot image)
Thanks a lot in advance,
Mathieu

See http://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-c/help/unpack-repack-boot-img-info-to-build-t3367835 for some details.
I could extract the kernel + the ramdisk.
Keep working on understanding the header of the image, any help will be very appreciated.

DLL Compiler / Compilation Tool Needed!!

Sorry for the new thread - but I need a compiler that will rebuild dlls from the decompiled state after a rom dump. I attached a sample dll that I want to work with.
I know there was one here at some point in the past - but I can't seem to locate it, or anything about it
Mods - please do what you wish with this after (hopefully) it gets answered!
I'll keep an eye on the thread Matt. I've also copied it over to the dev/hack thread, since it's frequented by quite a few members that may be able to answer this for you.

MiPhone M88 X-LOADER U-BOOT?

I'm interested in cooking a ROM for the MiPhone M88. I'm looking at a ROM file (update.img) in a hex editor I see X-LOADER in the header. The ROM also makes references to OMAP730 P2. Does anyone have any info on the X-LOADER file structure, how to pull a ROM apart and how to reassemble it? I've found some info such as:
http://linux.omap.com/pub/documentation/P2_NAND_boot_support.txt
That doc kind of explains how to assemble an X-LOADER based image together, I don't know if it can be applied to the MiPhone or not. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
Any progress here?
No progress on my end.

[Android] Modifying the kernel/initrd in NBH files

Is there any way to change the kernel inside the NBH files from *can't insert link to DZO's Android files for Vogue*? DZO, what did you use to create them? I'm having a hard time replacing the kernel with my custom one... In case anyone is wondering, I'm attempting to install Debian on my XV6900's internal flash. I know what I'm doing here, but after tireless searching, I couldn't find anything about the kernel setup in the NBH files I mentioned.
Any help would be appreciated - maybe I'll make a tutorial when I'm done.
Thanks!

Wrong part of the forum. You should ask in the General section of the Vogue.
Sorry, I just realized that after I posted it. I found what I was looking for, though

Ok I need only one information.
I going to create repack of system image by command :
./make_ext4fs -s -l need correct size -a system newsystem.img folder where mounted system image
Someone could tell me this image size ? 1500M or 1572864000B which are correct ?
After this answer, I will prepare full pre-rooting guide.
Thanks for taking time off to do this.
You should ask the OP of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2375527 for some help, or you could examine his pre-rooted ROMs to get an idea of what size you need

vendor folder

Hey guys, anyone on nougat 7.1.2 ?
Can you provide me full vendor folder from that rom.?
I'll be thankful to you
@dean [email protected]#, the easiest way is to download the factory-image, matching your ROM, and extracting vendor.img from there.
but bro @rp158 ,I want extracted vendor.img
How i can extract it.
@dean [email protected]#, corrected the link above. You've to extract the zip-file, simply. What's your problem preciesly?
@rp158 went to your given link extracted that folder then it also gives vendor.img. If you have nexus 5x can you provide me the folder from /system.
As I need this folder for porting purposes.
@dean [email protected]#: either I or you don't understand: nearly every month there's a new vendor.img. So you need the version belonging to your specific ROM-build, probably not mine.
To go on: post the build-number of your ROM.
Build number- (OPR4.170623.020)
Please provide it unpacked.
@dean [email protected]#: that's 8.0.0 revision 35. Cannot download the whole package atm, maybe tomorrow. But what's your problem now? The download, an unzip-function, anything else?
@rp158 My problem only is that I am not able to unpack vendor.img only.
@dean [email protected]#: it's a long way, with your minimal step-by-step- information
I guess, you've no PC available to extract vendor from factory image. I did it now by TotalCommander on my N5X... If this whyever doesn't succeed, I'll upload it to MEGA. But you'll understand, that's quite laborious for a monthly changing file...
Added vendor.img from 8.0.0 r35
@rp158 Is there any way to unpack this img
@dean [email protected]#: ookeee, now I understand. I was the whole time at the dark side of your moon, sorry. Look at this tool.
@dean [email protected]#: my actual vendor-folder 8.0.0 r35 as zip-file uploaded, finally (older image deleted). Hope it helps.
@rp158 Thanks bro for providing
