LG v10 root method - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can one of the developers please take a look in to this root method and tell if it will work on on LG G4 with Marshmallow with locked bootloader?

this method employs flashing a modified .tot file via LG’s update tool.

That is only working on lollipop.

I have lollipop on my G4, is there a simple method for rooting like this available for the G4?

Lg g4 h815,unlocking bootloader and rooting device consequence

I am currently on android 5.1 and I want 6.0 so I heard I can update it with lg bridge. After that I have to unlock bootloader so I can acquire root permission.Would either of them make my phone not updateable with officials(ota)?
You probably will have to manually upgrade with a KDZ file. Maybe the real question is... is it worth to unlock bootloader and lost warranty?

LG-G3 D851 - Can't Root and Can't unlock Bootloader

Dear all,
I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.
I can't root my LG G3 D851 (T-Mobile) phone.
Recovery mode is only deleting the files (Original LG screen).
Purple, oneclickroot, kingroot they all fail cause they can't start in Recovery Mode.
I think that my Bootloader is blocking this, but LGUP doesn't recognize my Phone.
LG Flash no working DLL? I'm stuck and I'm starting to miss ODIN.
Is anyone able to help?
Cause I don't see it anymore
I have a variant of your phone, the LG G3 D858HK, I sort-of had the same issue and also found that KingRoot, Purple, etc failed, but Towelroot worked when I took the phone out Recovery Mode ..... after about the 10th attempt at trying to root using it that is...... Apparently it can take several attempts using the app before you obtain root

You can't unlock the bootloader. You have to downgrade to a lower version of lollipop, root with kingoroot, and run autorec.

LG G8 firmware flash

I just purchased a Verizon LG G8 that is unlocked and want to use it on Metro. I haven't gotten the phone yet but I would like to (if it's possible) flash a unbranded firmware. I'm confused about whether I can use LGUP or LG flash tool to do this. Can someone please tell me if this can be done and if so what is the best firmware to flash to have it unbranded with minimal bloat?
I miss the good old days on XDA where people actually came on XDA and there was always someone able to help out. I feel like that doesn't exist anymore. Too many phones and too many different carriers.
I don't think there's a patched LGUP to do this for LG G8 yet.

Holy shiit, someone actually answered my question! That is insane! Thanks for the info man!
Is there a y method that currently works to flash firmware on the LG g8? I would like to flash the stock unlocked carrier unbranded firmware.
There is no way to flash through LGUP or any other tools currently but you can unlock boot-loader root and install firmware package through twrp but doesn't work for T-Mobile or Metro

There is a thread for it and same thing at the g7 thread. Just use octoplus jtag pro to flash the v35 engineering boot-loader to device and from there you can unlock boot-loader and do all the stuff. If you dont have octoplus jtag pro there is a guy who will do it for you he charges i dont know how much though.
