How to boost your Phone RAM & Battery Life by installing two apps in any Android Cell
Hello Geeks,
Here I am gonna tell you how I am extending my cellphone battery life & making my cell phone to use less RAM. SD-MAID & GREENIFY. Condition of using these two apps is - your phone should be rooted. Let me tell you steps to use this:
1) Go to play store & download SD MAID & GREENIFY.
2) Open SD Maid > App-control. Touch the refresh icon on top. It asks for root permission. Allow it. Now, you can see a list of apps. By seeing apps some of them are with label Auto-start. Touch that app > Toggle auto-start component & a pop up window come. Turn off the components by touching ON. Do it for every app you do not want to run in background.
3) Now Open Greenify. Touch Plus icon on top. Allow root permissions. Now you can see. Touch show all apps. Here you need to add apps for Hibernation. Add apps which you want out of memory. And touch the sleep icon. Create shortcut for Hibernation if you want to add Greenify Hibernate shortcut to your Home Screen.
These apps are very small in size. Making the most of memory empty for other apps.
Enjoy

My CM10.1 Setup - Just Sharing

THIS ISN'T A GUIDE NOR A TUTORIAL HOW TO SETUP YOU PHONE. I JUST WANT TO SHARE WHAT I'VE DONE WITH MY PHONE TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF CM10.1 AT ITS CURRENT STATE.
My primary goal when adjusting settings and applying tweaks is always battery life, performance comes second and looks of the ui as last priority.
So here's a listing of my current setup:
1. Installed Greenify - to hibernate user apps to prevent background execution.
2. Installed Autostarts - to disable automatic startup of system and user apps. I like this app coz i can control each app per activity.
3. Installed Titanium Backup - to freeze (disable) system apps and even remove some that i don't really use.
4. I have only one widget in the home screen, the clock. I disabled the rest of the widgets in Autostarts including Quick Search Bar. When i need to search the internet i just long press the menu button to open Google Search/Google Now.
5. Aside from the Quick Settings Panel, i place shortcuts in the home screen to easily access system settings to turn on/off features.
6. I use Script Manager to create shortcuts to run my scripts (like enabling/disabling fast charge).
7. I only install apps and games that i really use. But i have a TB backup of more than 170 apps in my sdcard, kept in case i needed them.
Can you give me a link which the system apps can be frozen?
I really hate google service running in background but I dont know which can be frozen by not crashing system

Killing apps is not a good idea. If you mean you want a normal Android Task Switcher that lets you close apps (Recents), then you can, for instance, use Nova Launcher and set the home button to open the Recents. You can also install the app Swipe for convenient app switching and managing. Swiping will switch apps, but a double tap on the side of the screen can also act to open Recents.
If you are looking for a way to better manage apps running in the background, then start using Greenify. It is less potent without root, but still a great and healthy way to stop apps from continually running in the background and thus improve your performance and possible memory issues. Android is built to take advantage of memory though, so don't be alarmed by low numbers of available free RAM.
Yes, Greenify is the way. You can even hibernate automatically without root by using a replacement lock screen with its own security. That way you don't put a pin/password on the system lock screen, allowing Greenify to auto hibernate without leaving the phone vulnerable.
If you double click the home button it opens the recent/kill app menu. Click on an app to go it or swipe it upwards to close it.

Recommendation for Battery monitor app

Does anyone have any recommendations for a battery app that can monitor wakelock and other battery drains? Thanks in advance.
Here are my battery saving tips:
1. Get BetterBatteryStats the app. You can find the apps draining under Alarms.
2. Use PrivacyGuard, deny any "Keep Awake" and "Run in background" to anything that isn't necessary.
3. Download Icebox from Playstore. It disables (the app calls it "freezing") apps that you choose. I freeze apps that I don't use often, and have it setup to re-freeze them after the screen is off for 5 minutes. You can create shortcuts to frozen apps on the desktop so it's easily accessible. Downside is that you can't use the widgets for frozen apps.
4. Use Naptime. The phone is going to doze anyways, why not just let it hit sooner?

Any app to quickly disable background activity?

Hi, is there any app which can be used to quickly disable the background activity of the apps? I've more than 400 apps installed so it is a bit difficult to disable the background activity by going inside each app's info>battery. Or is there any quickly way of doing it?
Why not try to make them dozed instead ?
There are too many apps I could recommend...
such as Brevnt , Greenify , Controlbp , X-APM...
Just to choose one or two which you like to use ,
more will be worse.

redmi note 9 pro put apps in sleep mode whereas it is unwanted

Hello,
I correctly configured my phone to let some app being not optimised for battery saving. in each app, I can select if I want this app to be optimised for battery saving.
I did it for some app like synology drive.
I noticed that synology drive is inerrupted anyway when the phone has the screen off.
is it normal ? is there a way to have some app that are not shut down ? the problem is that these kind of app that are used for synchronization or file transfert must not be cut off when the screen is off because the transfert are interrupted.
Hello. If you are using MIUI then try this 1. open the app 2. touch recents 3. long press the app 4. touch the lock icon.
Thanks I did it, but I read that the lock is usefull only to keep the app running even if I close all app in the recents app. does it really have something to do with the OS stopping background apps ?
is miui known to be painfull and kill background apps ?
I have the solution : i must disable MIUI optimization.
from :
What is MIUI Optimization and should you turn it off? - xiaomiui
MIUI optimization is an option that helps to load the app and the app data in parallel to reduce load times and ensure a smooth user experience.
xiaomiui.net
extract : "Background apps cannot sync data."
tested with synology drive and it works, after disabling, my transferts works even when the phone has screen off.
I don't know how to close the thread and mark it as resolved. anyway someone has more news about MIUI optimization, it would be great, would it break something to disable it ?
