@ mohitgalaxy3 did you find the dev rom also?

seems big... 1.2GB

Anyone install it successfully?
I'm running the dev 6.31 version and using the built in updater to try and install the global edition
My only thought was since I'm running a dev Ed it won't let me update to a global ROM?

first of all you need windows x64 and the latest x64 miflash from here http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=attachment&aid=NjE4NDc5fGM4ZTg0NTA0fDE0NjAwNTg3NjN8MTYwNzg2NjM3NXwyNjAwMzA%3D
then you will be able to flash the fastboot rom to locked bootloader mi5

With this global Rom, we don't need to unlock bootloader right?
Just following the Flashing guide is ok?
After installing it, do we still have OTA update?

Nice,
Just have to wait the next flash sales in China and hope i can get one 128G

Been running this since yesterday. Running nicely
Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

i'm on a locked bootloader and i can't install the global rom with the updater app, it says the it can't verify the package.
tried to do it with the edl method, but the phone doesn't show up in the device manager, probably some driver issue.
is the rom worth all the hassle?

Will this Rom work on the 128GB model? Or does it have a special version?

Does the native backup work well after I flash the global ROM from China ROM?

I only got my phone yesterday so was buzzing I could update to global ROM day 1. Like you I get the cant verify message when trying to update.
Flashing isn't an option for me as my windows laptop is a mess. It's barely functional.
Luckily I have got all the Google apps working fine on Chinese rom. It's annoying though as it shouldn't be difficult to update the ROM.

No specific Indian version hasn't been released yet.
This is Chinese version, but this ROM also has English included. So you can easily flash and set it up for English.
You can find the link for the recovery ROM in the OP. It can be directly flashed through TWRP or some other custom recovery.
Thanks...

No it fails to flash using twrp. Either I am not updated with current version of twrp is a reason or it may only be flashed with stock recovery.
I would have rather used fastboot ROM in order to update basband ,for better network and less battery drain.
one of the most welcome feature of this miui6 update is that u can use any of the sims either 1or 2 for 3g services without physically changing sim slots.
Official beta global miui6 has also been released, check miui forum for more details.

How to understand whether bootloader is locked or not?

Hi, I've just received my Mi max 64gb with a Miui 8 version 6.6.16.
Now I'd like to update it with the latest miui 8 dev version 6.7.7 but I don't know whether the bootloader is already unlocked or not. In order to flash latest miui 8 dev I do need unlocked bootloader even using custom update package via updater app right?
How can I understand it then whether my bootloader is unlocked or not?
Thanks in advance

[ROM][8.0.0] MIUI 9 GLOBAL Beta Rom 8.2.1 based on Oreo [scorpio][02.03.2018]

This is a beta rom so as the name implies you may encounter various problems/bugs.
Fastboot (unlocked bootloader)(erases all your internal storage):
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.3.1/scor....1_20180301.0000.00_8.0_global_7127f41234.tgz
Recovery (TWRP and unlocked bootloader)(full wipe highly recommended):
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.3.1/miui_MINote2Global_8.3.1_74f30a299a_8.0.zip
The update has been suspended at the moment but download links are still working... Anyway you flash the packages at your own risk, I don't assume any responsibilities for any bricked or exploded devices! This is only for sharing purposes!
Thank I very much for sharing
Thank you!
Thank you! But download from this server is a pain... could you upload it to another site?

Well if you like risking a hard brick you can download that file, rename it update.zip and put it in the folder downloaded_rom. Then go to the miui updater app and it should see it as an update and the installation will start. The problem is that if you are on locked bootloader without TWRP and the flash goes wrong you can throw away your phone...

No risk, no fun... I used the option in the updater and it doesn't allow me to install it. Probably because I need special privileges... In any case, these are excellent news for custom ROMs
Edit: previous to the installation of the .ZIP it asks me to be connected to the internet... It can't be connected without being connected to the internet. So definitely they check if the user is allowed to install it.
Anyways. Anyone using the ROM can give some feedback, please?
Installed by twrp and running perfect ... for now no failure
routed with magisk 16.0
So installed last TWRP, wiped all data and storage for decryption, all went ok, inastalled oreo beta rom and magisc 16, during booting phone first get encrypted again and then rom boots up. Restarting back to TWRP is asking for password again to decrypt phone. So because of that I get back to nougat and TWRP 3.1.1.0 because that is only one that is not asking password. So please help and inlight me what I was doing wrong.

You have to be in the Beta Team to install those packages with the updater app. The method the Super Moderator recommended me is fastboot because it's an android version update. The ROM worked fine in the first day , no important bug that can prevent it to be a daily driver.

EU is mostly likely ahead of global stable, but dunno about global dev.
And im more curious about the locale related performance on the global rom, as EU rom is optimized for europe, such as GPS related settings. And you need to modify the system partition manually if you want to change that, which breaks safetynet, so.

Alright, just download the fastboot rom. Extract it. Put your phone in fastboot and connect it, then run "flash all and lock.bat" included in the files. If for some reason you find it not working copy all the contents of that directory to a new folder in your downloads. Sometimes the really long folder names can break things for windows.

Can you Convert CN Version Phone to Global Version via flashing rom?

Hi Tott
Yes it really is this simple, I'll share the latest link for 4.13 below.
Be warned: The download speed is very slow today as this is a brand new release and everyone is downloading at once.

Also, no, bootloader does NOT have to be unlocked.

Hi Sir Sam,
Is there any special technique for me to successfully flash Global ROM in my RM5G CN ROM? Tried this version as well but I'm stuck in 25% and an error message keeps popping up saying that the installation was aborted (something like that). Is there any setting I have to turn on or off for this to work?
I'm currently on CNCommon_v6.23

The reason its failing is because you have a later version of the rom already.
6.23 is more up to date than 4.13
If you wish to change to a lower rom you would need to flash via the recovery menu.
If it still fails, you can use the fastboot bypass method to install TWRP and flash from there instead.
If you use the bypass method you dont unlock you bootloader. And flashing the official rom via twrp will overwrite twrp after a successful flash. Making it stock once more.
