It does . . . but you can't combine the $100 uh-oh credit from the M9 with the discount above.

Ahh gotcha. I never had the M9's uh-oh protection so that explains it...

At 699 I was hesitant. At 599 its a deal. In for one Carbon.

Nice, code only valid in US

UK can use HTC100. Not sure of anywhere else
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app

Code not valid in Germany.

Are you able to cancel the pre-order up until the phone ships? Are you charged right away or only once it ships? I'd be willing to lock in a pre-order on the unlocked edition under the assumption that it will in fact work for Verizon at the $599 price but only if I can cancel if we find that to not be the case.
Is there a time limit on how long the $100 off code will be valid?

Canadians can use the code HTCCA1008 to get a 100$ reduction and free shipping so its 900$ CAD instead of 1008$

None of the codes are working in Germany.
HTC10
HTC1008
HTCCA1008
This is not fair!

The system seems buggy. I had to submit a couple of times, and then they emailed me someone else's code! But the one that came up on the screen worked, at least in the sense that the order form accepted it. It didn't give me another $100 off. But the T&C on the credit says it can't be combined with anything else.

Yes, but if you read my posts in the past you will see that all the Vouchers are not valid in Germany.
The only way to get 100$ or 100€ discount would be this website.

T-Mobile takes upto a month. HTC Code took a day.
If one needs to unlock and can't wait, it is an option, but if one needs it unlocked say in 2 months for their trip abroad, I don't see why use the services provided under this link... unless the price goes under £15...

T-mobile response about unlocking the desire is this.
You cannot request an unlock code <subsidy pin> for the first month you own the phone, after than you can request it and it takes upto 28 days to recieve that code.
So you are looking at 2months from now for the desire.

Odd, the chap at t-mobile I spoke to (0845 412 5000, though I think it's just the 150 equivalent number for landlines) just ordered the code for my new Desire, to arrive via snailmail in 14-28 days. Very pleasant about it too, which hasn't always been my experience with providers and SIM-unlocks.
Edit: ...though, I was already a t-mob customer, so I wonder if they only have a months delay for new customers, so they don't get scammed by folk with fake bank/cc details.

You are correct, I bought one from Amazon at £99 without looking into unlocking it first. O2 have said I must use it with an o2 sim (PAYG or contract) for 12 months, then they will give me an unlock code which will cost £15. I bought a £10 PAYG sim to try the phone, and the signal in my area is so rubbish that the phone is forever 'searching' for o2 this was despite being told I'd get 4 bars on 3g, and 3 bars on 4g at home. Amazon have sent another phone for me to try, which arrived this morning, but it's exactly the same. Unless I can unlock the phone, it's a complete 'lemon' for me, and will be going back to Amazon. If anyone has had any success in unlocking one, I'd be incredibly grateful for any info, as from what I've seen playing about with the phone on wi-fi, its a good wee gadget and the price was good!
As you purchased the phone outright, without contract or subsidy. O2 have to unlock it.
I have raised a complaint with them as they gave me the 12 month nonsense also. Complaint is with the Exec team.

They ignore emails and chat when you question them about it at all.

Uh oh protection is htc only, usa only. As to whether you will be entitled to something for not using it is up to htc.
If they clearly state that you are entitled to it then hold them to that and have it honoured. Contact their head office by letter stating your device, date of purchase, reasoning (ie a copy of the statement by htc that clearly states your entitlement) and a COPY of the receipt from when you bought it.

Interesting. HTC is still pimping it: http://www.htc.com/us/uh-oh-protection/?linkId=13475140
This is what the T&C say about the credit:
In the event You are eligible for UH OH Protection and do not utilize Your UH OH Repair/Replacement during the Warranty Period, You will be eligible to receive a credit of one hundred dollars ($100) toward Your next purchase of a HTC One M9 or future HTC One series device ("Credit"). You may be asked to present a valid proof of purchase and Your application must be completed and Credit redeemed during the Credit Redemption Period through www.htc.com/us/uh-oh-protection. Validation that You did not utilize Your UH OH Repair/Replacement during the Warranty Period will be a required step in the application process. Credit is only redeemable on HTC.com and may only be used for the purchase of a HTC One M9 or future HTC One series device. HTC reserves the right to create additional ways to apply for, receive, or utilize Credit at its sole discretion.

I wonder if they're waiting until anyone is eligible before declaring this "Credit Redemption Period" whatever it is? Could be they haven't decided on the unspecified "additional ways" yet. I can't believe they would just blow this off as it would be instant grounds for a class action lawsuit.

Htc are slow to respond in all cases. Usually 1 month for normal enquiries. I asked htc why the uh-oh protection only applies to the USA and Taiwan and have never got a response to it. Maybe because I accused them of favouritism due to needing help from the USA as China have claimed their hometown as their own So fearing invasion they need to keep USA sweet... No reply. Im not surprised as the USA wouldn't appreciate being bought and the friendship is an illusion..
Anyway, i digress.. Glad you got it. Quite jealous actually..

You could try visiting this link to redeem the $100 credit.
https://uhoh-cr.htc.com/
You will be eligible to receive a credit of one hundred dollars ($100) toward Your next purchase of a HTC One M9 or future HTC One series device
New HTC 10 isnt a "One" series, maybe they knew this, so your $100 will be going towards another M9 or an older One series
Once you claimed your $100 credit, could you let us know if it works for HTC 10 as well as it's not officially a "One" device.

I had to enter it a couple of times before it took. It also emailed me someone else's discount code instead of the one I got on the screen. I think their system is not ready for prime time.
Uh-Oh... You're About to Get Screwed!
The redemption link at uhoh-cr.htc.com said my phone is not eligible for the $100, so I got on HTC support chat for help.
Some background: my phone has been repaired twice for the well-documented vibration motor issue (not uh-oh related).
I was informed during my chat session that the second repair was accompanied by comments of "water damage" in the repair notes. Therefore, I am ineligible for the $100 credit. Of course, this alleged (and non-existent) water damage was not disclosed to me during or after the repair process.
I hope the rest of you that have had warranty repairs have better luck.
Sorry to revive this from the dead but I wanted to chime in and say that after a call and a few emails, I was able to successfully get my $100 off credit. Its kind of useless to me, however as it cannot be used to buy the HTC 10 which is already constantly on sale. It only works on items that arent already discounted. Makes my $100 off code less valuable to me.

Same issue here. Did you ever use up that credit?
I requested my code this time last year to use for HTC 10 but wasn't able to. Pretty much dissuaded me in getting the phone. Now the expiration is coming up and haven't had luck getting it extended. The rep said there would be a special promo discount for M9 users that would be available soon. BS?
I think so. I gave up and bought the M10 on sale for $500 and forgot about the credit. Super lame

I submitted on the 22nd and it still says pending. The big bummer is my in-box charger was DOA, so I've been using my V10 charger. I'm hearing horror stories about non approved chargers messing up the 10. I've been meaning to go back to T-Mo and see if they can just throw me a new charger.
I ordered mine on launch day but didn't receive it till the following week. Tracking the submission request it says approved on June 4th so we'll see what happens.
Naturally, the day after I email customer service (got no response), the status changed to approved.
I was never told about it when I got the phone. Had to go to a different T-Mobile store, cause my regular one didn't have the h10, and had no idea when or if they would be be getting it. Way to drop the ball T-Mobile.

Question Suggestions on unlocking service

I switched from T-mobile to Verizon thinking that I could just continue paying the monthly installments and use it on the Verizon network. Now I am paying $30/mo for a phone that doesn't work on my network. There are a bunch of sites that claim to unlock your device but they very widely in price. Does anyone have experience using a service like this? Any suggestions on which to use?
Try to find a free method. A lot of the sites are legit, but I can not vouch for specific one?

I didn't come across any free options, but some were up to $120!
A lot of them overcharg. If you can pay with something like PayPal which you can request a refund for, do so.

A lot of them overcharg. If you can pay with something like PayPal which you can request a refund for, do so.

That's what I had been doing, I just thought I would throw it out there on here to see if anyone had first hand exoerience
I have use SIMDoctor in the past, you can usually find a coupon code or something to get it cheaper.
I am trying to find an unlock for AT&T right now, going overseas for 6+ months and I'm not spending $1,800 for their garbage "Day Passes", and it's financed so they won't unlock it.
Unfortunately, at least for AT&T, none of these unlocking services have the unlock codes. Seems like AT&T went out of their way to make sure people can't unlock early.
Thank goodness that the U.K. banned carrier locked phones a year ago...
Mobile companies now banned from selling locked handsets
Mobile phone companies are now banned from selling customers locked handsets, under new Ofcom rules that come into force today (17 December 2021).

Such a rip-off that you cannot use your mobile on the carrier of your choice and get the best and cheapest plans.

The only option is to have the carrier unlock the phone. I was able to convince them to unlock it!

That should be one of the special requests that you can get them to unlock it if the phone is paid off or not, have you tried calling and letting them know you have to leave the country for work? It's worth a shot sense it should be free

Yeah; They gave me two options, pay for "Day Pass" (roughly $1,800 if I stay as long as I'm scheduled) or pay off the phone ($1,600). If I pay off the phone, I was told they'd remove my trade in promotion credits (which was $1,000).
I should have known not to buy a phone from AT&T...

If you were going for active duty, then a copy of your orders will do it. I'm just going for work, so they see me as a bucket of free money.
That Google link must not have copied/pasted right, it comes back with a 404.
