As long as the phone bands match what the carrier supports, it'll work
I used my unlocked M8 on 3's LTE network in the UK with no problem.

While it is wikipedia, I've found that this page has provided a good guideline for what bands are used on networks around the world. At least in the places I've gone, I've found it to be accurate. YMMV.

So I am due for a new phone soon and I am upgrading from the M8 on Tmobile.
What I am confused about is the radio bands on this phone and how it will affects its usage on Tmo and possibly ATT if I so choose to move over to one of their MVNOs in the future.
On HTC, GSM Arena, and other sites the radio bands for LTE show Bands 1,3,5,7,8,20,28 (HTC)/ 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) (GSM Arena).
I have heard the Tmo is going to be lighting up band 12 so why the lack of support for it and band 2 on this phone and what happened to band 4, it is currently present on the M8 but not on this device?
Am I missing something entirely or did HTC just simply decide not to support these?
When it comes to understanding radio bands for carriers and such I am still fairly new to it all.
It's one thing I've totally neglected when looking for "alternative" smartphones, and I'm also out of the loop as per current 3G and 4G bands in use... Anyway, how well does Mi Max (or for that matter, any other "unofficial" phone) work on European 3G and 4G networks? I understand most carriers are on 2100 MHz for 4G, but they also use 800 or 900 Mhz. And if I check the specs on GSMarena.com it seems Mi Max supports even less 4G bands than Redmi Note 3:

i have the helium version and 3G/4G works flawlessly with different operators in Germany, Poland and Netherlands (countries i am in regularily).

I'm in Sweden and here the absence of band 8 and 20 is an issue if you are out of big towns more in the countryside. Then you lose 4G. Also inside of buildings it also seems to lose 4G at times. Other than that data works fine. I don't need 4G at all times personally and on some phones I even set 3G-only.
is there a difference in the hardware between the ordinary and "international" versions of this phone?

I would hope for LTE 800MHz and LTE 2600MHz as well as other bands which are the "official" LTE bands, even though some operators here in the UK are also using LTE on 1800MHz. It's becoming as big a mess as the USA's frequency bands!
Hello forum. Got a question Im hoping someone will know. I am looking at getting the gold Oneplus 3 and will be using it in the US on T-Mobile. Every version I have seen for sale does not list T-Mobiles LTE networks (Frequencies: Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz)) listed on the T-Mobile site. They all say (4G : LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300)). And some say they are the A3000. So is there anyone that has the gold one here and has been using it in the US on T-Mobile? And if so where did you buy it? What model # is it? Im thinking the only place to actually get the North American gold one is through Oneplus, but its never in stock. Anyway thank you.
I have a G710ULM which I use on Google Fi. According to what I can find online the ULM supports LTE Bands: 2/4/5/7/13/20/28/46/66 which ordinarily would seem fine however I started looking at my LTE connection and noticed I have been connecting to both LTE 12 (T-Mobile) and LTE 25 (Sprint) which are both carriers for Google Fi. So the question at this point is what LTE bands is the G710ULM actually capable of receiving? Is there more accurate documentation form LG as to the LTE bands supported for each G7 model?
Update: Found another reference for G710ULM LTE Band support so maybe what I'm seeing makes sense. Would be nice to see updated/correct documentation on LG website.

Those charts are not accurate in the slightest.
The EAW *most certainly* supports Band 2. I have it. It's in the service menu.
The "official" bands are bands supported in the region the phone is made in, not what is supported by hardware. For example, band 12 also works on the EAW.
In case anyone is ever looking for information on the topic and finds this thread, with my G710ULM I have connected to LTE bands 2, 4, 12, 25, 26, and 41 which are the main LTE bands for T-Mobile and Sprint.

I have this phone! I was confuse to when i buy but it had the band needed...B4 B7 B13 B12 and B17 and B66 to but not B29....If you have like mine like you said its a SM-A505G/DS. It will work!

I bought a a50 Latin America variant from an Amazon seller. Though I don't know how to confirm but I think the frequency list is the second one. The first set is probably from the a505f.
Mine to is a latin america from amazon! And im glad that i bought it! I confirm to you that it is working in america with bands you need like b4 b12 b17.

I have the Latin American variant under model name SM-A505G/DS bought from US eBay seller, listing the LTE bands: 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500), 66(1700/2100).
Those are seller descriptions and enumerations of the LTE Bands. Is there an app that we can actually verify what LTE Band numbers are baked in the phone hardware? Been trying to find such a thing, but seems there is none.
I have put in one of the sim card slots my T-Mobile sim here in the US, and just like brought up in various forum sections here in XDA, there is something wrong with this phone with regards to LTE data speeds, it is very very slow so that I pulled out the SIM card and reverted to using it on my Note FE Dual Sim and I'm back to the usual fast LTE on the Note FE.
Would be glad to hear what others experience on this issue.
