PSA: The 32GB HTC 10 has a MICRO-SD. - HTC 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

[UPDATE]
It would appear that HTC's rep's are off their rockers, someone below proved that the 32GB has a microSD slot!!!

It has micro-sd card slot. It's written in the specifications in their website (http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-10/) and confirmed by every hands-on preview.

Well thank goodness! HTC needs to retrain their support teams!

Actually...their specs make it sound like it is only the 64GB. Do we have visual proof?

It's pretty clear that it is 32GB of ROM with the microSD.

Well the first lady on the phone said the confusion was coming from an error on their site. So... I mean I was told twice that the 32GB didn't have it. Do we have actual photo proof of the 32GB with the slot? Although... is the slot with the SIM slot?
HTC needs to clarify this, if I order this and wait 3 weeks to get a phone without an microSD I will be quite upset. As will others.

32GB definitely has a MicroSD slot, as you can see from this hands on:

MicroSD just before inserting:

EDIT: ENHANCE!

Edited thread title to reflect that the 32 gig does in fact have an SD card slot.

[Q] SD Card problem

Hi all.
I have a 32 gb class 6 card (Topram) which I purchased about 2 weeks ago. I partitioned it with a ext2 and converted to an ext3 and had been running Mik 3DSupersonic with a2sd with no problems. Today I was copying the contents of the card to my computer using a card reader and something went wrong. Upon inserting the SD card back into the phone it was unrecognized. I have tried partitioning it with my phone through RA Anon recovery (it completes almost instantly) unsuccessfully and also through my Windows 7 computer without success. Are there any tricks I can try or is this brand new card shot?
Thanks for any insight.
I can pretty much guarantee you have a fake card. Where did you purchase it from?

Really? It was working fine for over 2 weeks. I purchased it through buy.com from a third party seller. I doubt it.
Yeah sounds like a 2gb card hacked to read 32gb until you try filling it up past the 2gb. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

If you're right it had to be bigger than a 2gb because I had upwards of 9 gb on it when it was working. I paid $46.75 Here's the link http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=219375390
I've contacted Topram about a warranty replacement. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Topram is really not a very good brand. SanDisk is the only manufacturer that actually has a working 32gb card out right now.

I learned my lesson now. I wouldn't have even considered it except it had very good reviews.
i have a small question about sd cards, i have a sandisk 8gb class 4 sd card that i am using and i used the app SD Tools to test the speeds of my card and my results were as if the class of my card was higher than 4.....but i dont fully understand what speeds are for each class, from what i have read a class 4 should have 4mb of write speed, but mine ranges from 8-10 on the tests...does that mean my card is like a class 8 or 10?...if anyone could clear this up for me that would be awesome...ill put a screenshot of my test results if that would help also...

I bought an Transcend 32GB class 10 an it work beatifully OOB. However I've replaced this memory card 3 times because it failed when copy a lot of data. It just not faid but after the error copying I couldnt use the card anymore. I tried to format and it get worst.
It happen when I backup and all three times I had it failed occurred when I trying to backup my file into it.
I won;t buy Transcend anymore.

Samsung new UHS-1 series microSD for LTE phones

Samsung's memory cards were updated late Wednesday with large-scale production one of the world's fastest microSD cards. The new 16GB microSDHC card runs at the same UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed-1) spec normally used for the latest full-size SD cards, giving it performance that would previously have been reserved for pro memory for DSLRs and video cameras. Sequential read speeds peak at about 80MB per second, or roughly four times the 21MB of regular microSD cards.
The storage is ostensibly meant for LTE-capable smartphones and tablets, where flash memory speed could bottleneck the connection. It should nonetheless be useful for cameras that take microSD storage and support UHS-1. Samsung reached the density through a combination of its more recent 20-nanometer manufacturing process to build 64-gigabit (8GB) chip layers as well as a toggle DDR2 interface that can saturate the newly available bandwidth.
Release schedules and prices weren't given out, although mass production usually precedes a launch within a few months or less.

We need to know which file system those cards are formated in order to reach the high speed. If it is exFAT, then those numbers are pointless as all the smart phone storage currently formatted in FAT32 which is much slower.
Awesome, now just tell me how to fit one in my One X.

They have 32gb built in Rom, for me its smart move as I have had probs with sd slots on previous phones
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
sorry guys I ran thru and posted at all the lte phones I knew off top of my head , I thought only the nexus didn't have an sd card ..
so how will flashing roms via recovery and such work here just never wipe the ext-sd ?

It's a proper partition as opposed to a virtual partition like transformer prime. Wipe is fine, just don't tell it to wipe sd partition.
Only issue at the moment is that recovery doesn't have UMS, so if you don't have a booting OS and don't have backup/rom on phone then you are in a bit of a pickle Will be resolved when recoveries get more advanced. Very early days.

If ur buying a sdcard go for class 6 or above.
Deal extreme prices are good but buy locally of price difference is not much

It's not a good deal, at all.
actually it is a good deal. depending on where in the WORLD you are.
now in the USA that price is horrible. $18-$22 is the going price for a 32gb (uhs-1 ultra card)
but in say africa that might be a FANTASTIC price. so it depends on where he is ordering from.
Wouldn't rely on them too much. It's a Chinese manufacturer sent straight from there, I've gotten other things such as accessories from there but would trust memory cards.

-ebay-mini otg micro sd card reader!!

Found this on Ebay, but not sure if it works with HTC ONE! Stylish and small, looks better than a OTG CABLE! Anyone wants some extra storage may consider this!!

it looks interesting, but i prefer a USB OTG cable because you can mount flash-drives and HDDs (1TB storage)
afterall it will endup in your drawer and you will use it in a vacation or a trip, so 1TB > 64GB
Thanks! I for one would not want to carry a portable hard drive and have things dangling from my phone when I use them, so this is perfect.
Been looking for one of these, there was a kickstarter for something like this that succeeded, the design was even more compact, but they havent gone retail yet ):
