Boot animation??? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

How do i change boot animation for sprint galaxy s6 (G920P)? I have tried the boot animations app and a few other apps with no luck. I set the location to /system/media but all i got was a .zip file in the location. I believe i need qmg file for it to work... is there a way to convert the zip, img, png (ect) into qmg or any other work around??

Here is a thread with some QMG bootanimations and, more importantly, some instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...tanimation-massive-qmg-bootanimation-t2838295
If you just want flashables, try these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/themes-apps/custom-boot-animations-t3089208

Add SPR_ in front of the qmg files well thats what did it for me and set permissions 0644.

Stock boot animations QMG files anyone?

Dear All,
I just bought a 32gb i9300 originally on swisscom (no restrictions) . The most annoying thing is the boot and shutdown animations and sounds. I tried available options on my phone but most of them are bootanimation.zip file where my phone being stock uses qmg files. installed one available from one of the threads but now the startup is messed (see attachements).
the one was downloaded from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984035
Is there any brother out there who can provide me with 100% original boot qmg files? i.e.bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg with original boot and shutdown sounds since the ones installed are of an annoying lady singing lalalala???
I will be grateful...
Thanks
Boot qmg only .

Try Perkas file stash for the others or extract from a stock rom .
Boot zip only work with modified rom or kernel .

stock boot animation and manual debloat
I don't remember where I got my qmg files but I attached them to this post.they work. there are only two files bootsamsungloop.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg.. I followed the instructions given but they failed to instruct me to open the files with a script executor. these are the steps that worked for me.
1. copy files to sdcard. I used internal or phone.
2. using a file explorer , I used root explorer mount system/media r/w then delete bootsamsung.qmg ,. bootsamsungloop.qmg and also delete the file in the video folder called shutdown.qmg.
3 go back to sdcard and copy the two files bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg paste both files to directory system/media.
4. change permissions to rw-r--r-- for both files, change ownership to 0-root for both files also I changed the group to1023
-media-rw you might also be able to change group to 0-root not sure if that would work though.
5.finally I opened each file with Linux script handler and executed both,
6, reboot and watched the stock animation boot . I don't remember there being any shutdown animation on the unbranded rom.
I couldn't flash this through odin and I don't use custom recoveries or kernels . It took me about two days to figure out how to get back to stock animation..
also I found this link very useful to manually debloat my GT-I9300, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTvctlW89DtdC1qVUlLeVFTV3ZOdUtDclpBdVRQOUE&pli=1#gid=0 . have fun! EDIT UNABLE TO UPLOAD QMG FILES. first try it said server busy second try it said invalid files. maybe because qmg is not listed under valid file extensions. sorry for that.

S3 Matrix Boot animation for STOCK ROM

I've searched and searched but could never find a Matirx code rain boot animation made for the Samsung Galaxy S3 for a STOCK ROM. Bootanimation.zip files don't work on a stock ROM for the S3 so I took some of the better ones I found in zip files and converted them to the .qmg files that the S3 wants. I've included the boot animation as well as the shutdown animation and the Matrix sounds for them also.
You do need to have ROOT to install these and ROOT Explorer is recommended to copy them into the right folders and change permissions. If you aren't rooted I highly recommend 'towelroot' and it doesn't get any easier than that app for rooting.
Download my zip file then:
- rename your existing files (the ones that have the same names as I have included in the Zip file) in the folders listed below to something else you will remember like bootsamsung.bak and do this for each file you will be replacing with ones I have included in the Zip file.
- I suggest a complete backup with TWRP in case anything goes wrong. If you don't have TWRP get it - best thing going and I also use an app called 'Quickboot' which lets you get into TWRP recovery without having to do the 3 finger grip on the buttons you normally need to do to get into recovery.
- copy bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg to your system/media folder with Root Explorer
- use Root explorer change permissions on them to rw-rr
- copy the *.ogg (sound) files to system/media/audio/ui folder
- copy shutdown.qmg to system/media/video/shutdown folder
- use Root explorer change permissions on them to rw-rr
Reboot and enjoy a reminder of one of the best movies ever made !
I wish I could recall where all the parts for the above animations came from but I am not sure. Some probably came from xda forum so if any of these were from something you created I'll gladly give credit. I did have to resize exactly 100 pictures to make them the correct size for the Galaxy S3. However the shutdown animation came from somewhere else and did not need to be resized or rebuilt. I used Samsung's Theme Designer to convert the files to the needed qmg format for Galaxy's. There is about 3 pages of instructions on how to do that Here
The .ogg files were from my own collection of Matrix sound files and ringtones and used another program to convert them from MP3's to OGG files.
BTW if I am wrong about not being able to use bootanimation.zip files on a Galaxy S3 please let me know. I tried every way to Sunday to try using them but had no luck. I don't mind flashing a good ROM but I don't trust flashing a bootanimation file and I'm not even sure you can do that on a stock S3 ROM. If anyone has more info on that please post here. I've still got a lot to learn

[Boot Animation] [TW] [SAMSUNG] Change Boot Animation and Sound

Hi, Many of you curious about changing boot animation in samsung mobile. You know samsung uses qmg like boot animations. So it is complex to create own boot animation than creating zip boot animation. In this tutorial I have replaced the qmg files with zip boot animations.
I have tested on my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. It should work on any Samsung Kitkat Variants mobile. Please test and report here.
Please make a NANDROID BACKUP before modifying the system files
For that just download the files from here and place it right folder and set the PERMISSIONS.
1. Place this file in system/bin folder and set the permission -rwxr-xr-x (See other files permissions system/bin folder)
Please note it disables qmg boot animations and enable zip boot animations.
2. Download the bootanimation.zip and place it system/media folder and set the permission -rw-r--r-- (see other files permissions in system/media folder)
Or you can download any custom zip boot animations. Just google and download and place them in right place
3. To change boot sound just create a ogg file naming PowerOn.ogg (don't much than 20s) and place it in system/media/audio/ui and set permissions -rw-r--r-- (see other files' permission in the same folder)
To disable boot sound rename the PowerOn.ogg file as you wish like PowerOn.ogg.bak
Here the screen shots for the permissions

Pls note. In samsung zip animations are not supported. They are placed in system/media in the name of samsungboot.qmg blah blah. If you want to replaced the qmg bootanimation with zip bootanimation you have to read the whole the thread pls. Again. I am busy in studies now. So I can not make a video for you. Anyway In this thread just change your bootanimation with custom zip animation.
If you want to change bootanimation (qmg format) (mine trick is zip bootanimation on samsung device which is easy to create). Follow this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611682
Hope u understand qmg & zip like bootanimations

Backup - just copy your current/default boot animation that is located on /system/media to any location in your SD card.
Permission - After copying over your boot animation hold all of the files and and tap on permission and tick them like this
rwx rw- rw- or 766. If you find it confusing just look at the screenshot below.
Random boot animation... Not sure? :silly:

Where are the QMG Files?

Custom boot animation

Hi, I'm new to Samsung devices. In my Sony, i just had to create a ziped folder named bootanimation.zip with the part0 and part1 folders with the intro and looped intro images, respectively, and a txt named desc with the resolution and speed. With root explorer I was able to change the system boot animation into any custom one I wanted.
Now, I see that Samsung uses a .qmg file and both parts (intro and looped) are different files. I already changed my images to the device resolution and got them numbered on their names. My question is, how do I change the .zip folders with the images into .qmg ones? I searched for tutorials, but all of them were very old and wanted me to use WSamsung Theme Designer, but I don't think this is supported anymore.
So, how can I turn this images into a boot animation for my Galaxy S20+??
a zip file is an archive its used to compress and store files so you cannot turn a zip into a qmg file.. if u mean take a bootanimation.zip and use the boot ani inside the zip on ur device then try extracting the zip or flashing it.. if the animations are not in qmg format then u need to convert them.. this is assuming ur rooted and unlocked of course.. if not then u cant change ur bootani to begin with

Yes, I meant changing the images inside the .zip file into the proper .qmg file. I don't know what kind of file is .qmg, so I didn't know if images could be converted into that. Anyway, what I mean is, how can I use the boot animation (images) that I used in my .zip file as the boot animation for the Galaxy s20+?
And yes, my phone is rooted and unlocked. Could you provide a guide or link?
