[Help/Q] Zenfone 2 ZE550ML IMEI/EFS Partition Issue: No Network On Sim 1 - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am from Bangladesh, I bought a Zenfone 2 some months ago from an local non official or affiliated store without warranty.
Recently I tried to root the phone and successfully did it via CWM Temporary Recovery.
I used Exposed Framework, Intelli3G module, greenify etc. My phone was running well except I needed to turn flight mode on and off each time after booting or restarting my phone to get network on sim 1. But it was going well until one day when there was a new OTA update available. I just had forgotten the issue of OTA update on a rooted device.
After updating my rooted device it went into bootlops. I am not so geeky so I was looking for a solution. Then I restored a previous NANDROID backup via CWM but the it was showing error after restoration when the device rebooted.
So then again I went to CWM recovery mode and FORMATTED ALL THE PARTITIONS INCLUDING EFS:crying: then I flashed some downgraded recovery.img, droidboot.img etc and updated my phone with the lattest official stock firmware via CWM
I was lucky to unbrick my phone as it started well
But the the real problem started
THERE'S NO NETWORK ON SIM 1
I reflashed my phone but it was same then I took it to a servicing store they said I have IMEI problem in my phone, the phone is now in the servicing shop, but I am here to know if any of you have the same problem and the solution.
How can I get back my IMEI while I don't have EFS backup on my Zenfone 2??
Somebody please help me

It is always a good idea to do the efs backup after you install the custom recovery.
If you do not have efs backup, some suggest to install the earliest firmware of the phone.

Nandroid Restore Issue

Major issue running along the lines of a few other threads I've been reading on here. I'm currently with 3 in the UK.
Phone has been working great for almost 2 years, decided to install one of the custom ROM's with KitKat 4.4.2, I was previously running 4.3. At around 8-8.30 am yesterday morning my signal suddenly disappeared. I rebooted, took out battey and sim card, left it off for a few hours but no joy, noticed I had a generic IMEI number. Managed to restore a nandroid backup I had from last year and all was well again, it was a custom rom v 4.1.2 so I tried again to update to KK 4.4.2 but same issue, no signal with generic IMEI. I then tried a different nandroid backup I had but somehow this completely scrubbed my phone. When I eventually got it up and running it was back to stock and all my folders etc have been wiped. I do have a nandroid backup on my PC and I copied it to the root of my phone but when I try and do a restore it says no files found, reading elsewhere and going off the top of my head it says it has to go to /Data/Media/Clockworkmod but I don't have a Data folder, is there anyway to get this nandroid to work?
TIA

The data folder is on the ROOT of your sd card. Not in the normal storage location. The location you posted is correct but you missed one more directory. It is /data/media/clockworkmod/backup/

Zenfone 2 ZE550ML wont update to latest update 2.18

The update showed up on my phone and so I updated it after unrooting my phone, removing lucky patcher, freedom, sd booster, and so on. After downloading the update, phone rebooted showed it was updating then Error. Rebooted the phone then the update was no longer there, tried using System update but to no avail.
My question is.. how do I fix this for me to be able to update to the latest?
I'm getting a similar problem. However instead of doing what you did to unroot and such, I flashed the 2.17 via their recovery and now I don't get the prompt for 2.18 update at all.
Its confusing as to why its acting like this :/
I already removed all root applications and unrooted the phone then did a factory reset but afterwards it put me to one of its old build and wont freakin update anymore.. Any help regarding this would be very much appreciated..
I am open to rooting and manually flashing the latest build.. Problem is, I was a Sony user whom just switched to zenfone.. So i have no idea how to or what to flash on our zenfone 2..

Note 2 - somethings broken.

Hi guys, I have somehow broken my phone. Would really appreciate any assistance, or at least if someone could point me in the right direction.
I have a Note II, SPH-L900. I have been the running stock that came on it, rooted with TWRP. Last week, I tried to flash Cyan12 but it boot looped. Tried to restore the TWRP backup, but it gets stuck at the Samsung loading screen now. Have tried multiple roms, and all boot loop EXCEPT - Classic-Stock+NE2+4.4.2. But, it does not have any cell signal, at all, just an X next to the signal bars.
This is what I am running now, and I am able to get into the phone, and join WiFi networks. Root is also working fine.
Under settings it currently says Software version = Unknown, Hardware version is just blank, and Baseband version is unknown.
What I have done;
Tried to restore all of the 4 backups I have made prior to this. All result in the phone locking up at the Samsung screen.
Updated to newest TWRP - 2.8.7.0 - via Odin.
Tried pushing the stock ROM via Odin, but it fails. (confirmed my cache is 1.2gigs)
Have come across some post in which people with similar problems have trouble with their EFS folder, I confirmed mine exists, and contains files, but I dont know what I am looking at honestly.
Can provide any more info.

Recover IMEI, baseband, WIFI and random reboots

So, yesterday I unlocked my OnePlus 3, rooted it and flashed a custom recovery. So I managed to install MIUI 8, and fingerprint scanner didn't work, so I flashed 3.2.4 firmware. Then I realised that I couldn't get my native language and I installed CM14, but before I flashed 3.2.6 firmware. As far as Nougat is still not ready for my daily usage, I restored OOS 3.2.6 from my entire backup.
I couldn't unlock the device. The pattern was not recognised as correct, even if it was. So I flashed cleaned data, cache and dalvik, and from here my problems started. I had no IMEI, no baseband, no wifi, my phone constantly randomly rebooted, so I tried to flash EFS twrp restore. Nothing. I tried with 3.2.6 firmware. Nothing. I decided to return "original". I copied JUST the EFS and Boot backup from TWRP folder to my pc, locked bootloader, flashed original recovery and OOS 3.2.7. Still the same problems, plus at the beginning I couldn't even complete my first setup. My actual condition is:
OnePlus 3 A3003, locked bootloader, unrooted, stock recovery, oem unlocked, debug enabled, efs partion (at this point I think so) messed up, efs backup doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
EDIT: As the user @_ekis_ suggested me via private message, I flashed OOS, performed a "Fastboot erase modemst1;
Fastboot erase modemst2", and I got back IMEI, baseband (most important thing for me) and SIM. And no more random reboots. But there is still a problem: the wifi. It seems it disabled. Whenever I activate it, I cannot see any wifi, I cannot refresh the WIFI list etc. I already backed up my EFS, and I will perform a new OOS installation via fastboot. I hope for the best
EDIT 2: And yes, it worked! Now everything is back. A real thank you to @_ekis_ for his support and all the OnePlus 3 Telegram group.
Try flashing a modem package and it might help the imei. Theres a thread on the modems around here somewhere.

I don't mind about IMEI. The only thing I want back is just the baseband. I'm trying to flash OOS 3.2.6 now.
If it will not work, I will perform a modemmst erase

HTC One M8 Memory/Nand Corruption?

Had this M8 for a few months now after bringing it back from a bad software install by another user (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/m8-qhsusbbulk-rebooting-t3437240), was on a stock rom up until 2 weeks ago (restored from a nandroid backup provided by user on xda) until all apps seemed to force close constantly, I also could not connect to any mobile network, kept complaining of no sim card, no imei and unknown baseband. Tried a reset and a restore from the nandroid backup, neither of these worked, the phone would turn on and would get to the HTC boot screen then black screen continually, no amount of restore or reset fixed it, I also formatted and repaired the file system a few times, again made no difference.
Ended up going on to a custom rom which has worked for about 2 weeks up until today, again being presented with force closes in apps and the mobile network again will not work, complains of no sim card as before.
I'm thinking the nand (where the actual system and data partitions are) is basically dying and is not working correctly, anyone experienced similar?
Reflash of firmware via fastboot oem rebootRUU and another restore of a stock rom via twrp has fixed it once again, still clueless on why this randomly continues to happen
