Help
An Android update to 5.0.2 was released about a month ago that has made my phone run very slow and a fix has still not been released. I also have yet to receive a response from BLU support on what my options are. Prior to the update, the phone ran considerably better and now get hung up while performing mild multi-tasking such as switching between SMS and Facebook. Performing a Factory reset down not roll back the android version. I am trying to find an older android version but am not having much luck. All help is appreciated.

Dude I'm just happy you responded to me about your backup. I almost gave up on this phone because i looked everywhere on the internet and it seemed as if the phone didn't exist to a stock ROM. Like i said before... I have twrp and root and no OS and just needed someone to make a backup using twrp so I can install it on my phone or at least find a stock one that I can use with twrp. Luckily you came thru and thank you for your response. Hopefully I don't have to use this cheapo (second phone) for long.

did a lot of reading .... to find out it was only a corrupt boot image ... I was only getting TWRP recovery to load.
after reading About ADB and FASTBOOT
I learned how to flash the boot image , but first i need the ADB driver install on my PC.
Im not good at writing directions , but i took notes.... also was able to make back ups of all partitions.... We really only need to fix the ones we over written ... In my case was only boot image and recovery image.... my system was in tack..
thank you for inspiring me to go the distance.... I learned alot.

I must say i'm glad you got your phone back up and running..........
I know i put together a wild combo of files in the zip file..........
I hope it wasn't to hard to figure out......
. I labeled them the best i could.......
I can now flash upgrade with adb commands..... I don't need TWRP ,, its nice to know it works
The one thing I read is the most important is making a nandroid backup... all partitions in one Image file

Nice

Allview P5 Qmax
Hi, anyone knows how to do root at Allview p5 Qmax? Thanks.
Hi all,
I have the Allview P6 stony myself. What I miss on this phone is the option to associate contacts to a SIM. I've been searching all over to find a solution for it. So far without luck. Thats too bad, because the quad version of the phone has this option integrated. I want to share my findings here, hoping anybody else can benefit from what I found so far.
This phone is sold all over the world with different names. The dual core version is know as:
Allview P6 Stony (Romania and the Netherlands)
Fly IQ 444 (Russian)
Blu Vivo 4.65 (american, has two versions based and band)
NGM We Move Legend XL (Italian)
There is also a Quad core version with jelly bean and the associate contact to SIM function ...
Gionee Dream D1 (Chinese)
Allview P6 Quad (Romania and the Netherlands)
Walton Primo X1 (Indian)
Nice detail: The Italian version has the function I need (associate contact to SIM, but I can't find it's ROM anywhere and their support department wouldn't give it to me)
As a new user I am not allowed to post links to the firmware I found so far but...
For the Fly IQ444 there is official and rooted firmware on 4pda.ru
with extension /forum/index.php?showtopic=415423
For the Allview P6 the firmware is on ther website allviewmobile dot com with extension com/fileadmin/p6_update/Allview_Update_P6_17012013.zip
For the Walton prima the firmware and update software is on some unknown site hellomobilecms.blogspot dot nl
with extension nl/2013/05/walton-android-primo-series-phone.html (google how to use...)
Now that I did my part in sharing.. I still have these questions.
Can I flash my dual core version of this phone with the quad core version firmware, or will that "brick"it?
Can anybody get his or her hands on the Italian firmware ?
Is there any other option to get this "associate contact to SIM" function working?
EDIT: The app "SIM selector" from th eplay store adds associate contact (number) to SIM functionality
How to add CWM recovery for Allview P6
Hi All,
I am still new to this, so perform at your own risk
Here is my How to add CWM recovery to your Allview P6.
First I need to say some thanks
OP here on XDA for telling how to root the Allview P6
Hohol on 4PDA.ru He posted the CWM for the Fly IQ444, I only edited his work so it was compatible with the original Allview P6 update
michfood here on XDA for explaining how to edit a recovery image and provide the tools to make it easy.
Ok so I said my thanks, here we go (on your own risk)
Root your Allview P6 (but since you are reading this in as a reply to OP's post I guess you allready did that
Download and install Mobileuncle tools from the play store. Watch out here, this tool can make you flash the wrong boot image!! so follow my instructions carefully
Download the recovery image for Allview P6 I created based on Hohol's recovery for Fly IQ444. (attached to this post)
Put the recovery image on your SD card (not in a sub folder, directly in the SD card root)
Start mobile uncletools en go to Recovery Update
Select the recoveryalvw.img file en go ahead, flash it :silly:
The file should be the first option available, if not it's probably on the wrong location
Now if you reboot in recovery you will have CWM available for backups and flashing of ROMS (And yeah, only Roms I found I allready posted above)
With this option I wass able to
Backup my Allview P6 Rom and Data
Flash Hohol's IQ444 CWM rom on my Allview
Restore the original Allview P6 update from Allview's website
Final note: I don't have the original Allview P6 recovery image, so once this is done, you can't go back. But that only matters for your warrenty and you allready broke that by rooting your phone Actually restoring the Allview original update did also restore my recovery image to it's original AND it unrooted my phone. Nice for warranty... less nice for me here I go unrooting again :silly:
Extra final note: Now I only need the NGM We Move Legend XL rom so I can flash that on my Allview... anybody?
It works
I have solved the problem and now have CWM on my p6 quad

Click to collapse
So how did you solve it?
Do you want a other recovery on your phone, a other then the stock firmware.
You can use CWM or TWRP (TWRP is a full touch recovery)
Expand your internal memory from the phone to 2.5 GB
How to flash the recovery
You can use Mobileuncle MTK Tools, to download by Google Play Store
- Rename the downloaded recovery image to recovery and place it on the root from you sdcard-
- Start MobileUncle Tools (your phone must be rooted).
- Go to the tab recovery update.
- Now you will see the recovery.img file, chose it.
- It will prompt if you want to flash it, and after it will ask to reboot in recovery.
- now you have the flashed recovery on your phone
The other way is to flash it with SP Flash Tool (to download in the attachment files below " SP Flash Tool v3.1328.0.183.zip")
Download the attachment and unpack it.
- Open the program to double click on Flash_tool.exe
- Open the scatter file for you phone (the scatter file for the Allview p6 Quad is in the folder Allview; named "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc_PMT"). If don't have a scatter file, create one for you phone.
- now double click on "recovery" and select the downloaded recovery image.
- be sure you only selected the recovery check box, not the other check boxes.
- select download, but not "firmware->upgrade", because you will brick you phone. So only choose "download"
- now power down you phone and wait until it is fully shutdown, then connect your phone to your computer with the usb cable.
Note that you have first to install the adb drivers and the USB VCOM drivers, other wise you cant use SP Flash Tool.
You can download the drivers also in the attachment files ("SP_Flash_Tool_drivers.zip"), and i assume that you know how to install a driver on your computer.
The best way to install the drivers for your phone is the shutdown the phone and press the volume down button, hold it, and press the power button, until the phone go's on. You will see a screen with factory settings, ore something like that, but that doesn't matter. If you now connect your phone two your computer it will find to new devices. Use the drivers in the attachment file to install the drivers on your computer.
Do it on your one risk! I'm not responsible for any brick!
How to root the Allview P6 Quad
- Download the attachment "motochopper.zip" and unpack it.
- Enable usb debug mode on your phone and connect your phone to the computer.
- Click on "Run" in the unzipped folder and follow the instructions, and after that your phone is rooted.
If your phone reboots, you will see the superuser app from clockworkmod. Don't uninstall it and install a other superuser APK, because a other superuser app doesn't work, only the clockworkmod superuser app.
Another way is to use UnlockRoot. Download it here and chose the free version.
- First root your phone with motochopper, before you use UnlockRoot, otherwise it doesn't work.
- Install and open UnlockRoot.
- Connect your phone to your computer (with USB debug on).
- Click on "Root" and wait a moment, until there is a popup where you can choose your phone; choose it.
- UnlockRoot will say that your phone is already rooted, and if you want to root it again. Choose yes.
- After it is rooted you will be ask to install some other app, but you can refuse it, then your phone will reboot.
- After the phone is rebooted, open UnlockRoot again and click on "Unroot".
- Wait until your phone is unrooted.
- Uninstall the superuser app from clockworkmod
- Install SuperSu from Chainfire, download it in google play, here
- After your phone is unrooted and you installed SuperSu, open UnlockRoot again and choose "Root", and again there will be a popup where you can choose your phone; choose it.
- Follow the instructions, and after your phone reboots, your phone is rooted correctly, and you can also choose other superuser apps, but first uninstall always the old superuser app if you want to install another.
I have no idea why it must go this way, but that was the only way for me to root my phone right, so i can install SuperSu.
Edit: new CWM V6.0.3.2
I ported a newer CWM version from HBB (V6.0.3.2) to the Allview p6 quad, with some more futures in it:
- dual sdcard mounting
- install zip from sideload (ADB)
- partition sdcard and partition internal sdcard
If you want to give it a try, download attachment "CWM_V6.0.3.2_allview_p6_quad.img" and flash it to your phone.
Do it on your one risk! I'm not responsible for any brick!
Edit: TWRP V2.4.4.0 for p6 stony and p6 quad
I have ported TWRP V.2.4.4.0 (Team Win Recovery Project), for both models, the p6 quad and the p6 stony. But i haven't tested it for the p6 stony, because i only have a p6 quad. But Salvolin confirmed it works on his P6 Stony.
I'm also try to port TWRP V.2.5.0.0, but the recovery gets to big to flash, so i try to solve that to get a other layout with pictures in it that have not so much kb. At the moment SP Flash Tool cant make the recovery bigger if i edit the scatter file, then there is a strange error, so i have to wait of e newer version from SP Flash Tools. But for me TWRP is a good recovery, because its full touch.
You cant restore CWM backups with TWRP, or TWRP backups with CWM
The only way to convert your CWM recovery to a TWRP is:
- Flash CWM and restore the backup.
- Flash TWRP and backup
- Flash CWM and restore another backup
- Flash TWRP and backup.
If you have 10 backups from CWM, and you want them all converted to TWRP, you must flash a few times between the recovery's.
For the P6 Quad, download attachment "twrp_2.4.4.0.img"
For the P6 Stony, download attachment "TWRP_v2.4.4.0_Allview_p6_stony.img"
Do it on your one risk! I'm not responsible for any brick!
How to expand the internal Storage to 2.5 Gb for the Allview P6 Quad.
This patch is only for the Allview P6 Quad, not the Stony.
First you make a backup from your phone with CWM or TWRP.
Download the attachments 'Allview_P6_Quad_2.5GB_internal.zip' and unzip it. Load the scatter file in Sp Flashtool. If everything is correct, you only see EBR1 and EBR2 selected.
Then hit the Download button, not the firmware upgrade button! If you download it to the phone, go into the recovery and do a factory reset.
Now you can place your backup back and reboot your phone. Now you have a 2.5 GB internal partition, instead a 1 GB partition.
The internal SD is now 300 MB.

[GUIDE] HOW to FLASH latest WW/CN/TW | ROOT | UNBRICK |

I. Before You Begin Doing Anything
**As with all of these types of tutorials, this may void the warranty of your device. Do it at your own risk.
**Download and install the Asus USB Drivers on your PC, if you haven’t done so yet.
**This should only work on a Windows based PC only.
II. Downloading Required Files
** Necessary tools and Drivers - Mediafire Folder
**Latest OTA form ASUS website : WW_2.17.40.12
** Boot.img, Droidboot.img and Recovery.img from this MEGA Drive posted by Chinaphonearena user and belong to Shakalaca.
** System.img - if you want your phone ROOTed on latest ASUS ZF2 Firmware.
III. Yeah! Im ready to do it
**Plug in your device to your PC using a USB cable.
**Boot your device to fastboot mode Power + Vol Up to enter Bootloader Mode
**Hold down Shift and Right-Click anywhere in Fastboot Folder on your PC and select Open command here. It will launch a Command Prompt Window for you to issue commands to your device.
**When it launches, type in the following command and press Enter (.img files has to be in same folder as fastboot tools):
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img - droidboot.img is fastboot, and if you somehow will flash corrupted image, you won't be able to boot to fastboot anymore. Thanks to sorg
fastboot flash system system.img - Only if you use Pre-ROOTed system image from MEGA Drive.
IV. Ready to go with OTA!
** Upload WW_2.17.40.12 or latest Firmware OTA ( Full firmware ) file to phone storage (Phone storage/File.zip)
** After uploading .zip OTA file to phone storage, unplug USB cable from phone. You will recieve notification that new OTA UPDATE is avaliable for installation.
When you bought CN version of ZF2 you may have to Rename OTA file from UL-Z00A-WW-2.17.40.12-user.zip to UL-Z00A-CN-2.17.40.12-user.zip to get notification about update avaliable.
** Wait till update will finish (approx 10 - 15 min) . Phone will restart when finished. First boot may take longer.
V. Dam! No Notification!? what now...
** Boot your device to fastboot mode Power + Vol Up to enter Bootloader Mode
** At Bootloader press Vol Up to choose Recovery Mode
** You will see an error message of updating ota. Wait 5 sec and then press Power + Vol Up simultaneously until you see recovery menu.
** Using Vol Down + Vol Up choose ADB mode and connect your phone to PC via USB cable
** You need Fastboot version 1.0.32 and up to make ADB Sideload working properly with Zenfone 2
** Extract Fastboot.zip somewhere at your PC and put OTA update file ( .zip) in same folder as Fastboot.
** Hold down Shift and Right-Click anywhere in Fastboot Folder on your PC and select Open command here. It will launch a Command Prompt Window for you to issue commands to your device.
** Use command : adb sideload filename.zip
** At 100% it will go back to Recovery Mode main menu. Restart your phone.
** Done !

Are you sure this works i mean there are thousands of threads regarding this issue but none of them work..Can someone with CN version confirm the working of this method....
I bought phone on Aliexpress website. Phone has WW OTA but update via Wi-Fi was impossible. Firmware was 13.40.13 so i think people with that firmware had CN version at start, then sellers updated it to 13.40.13 WW and sended to buyers. Following my method you can update to the latest WW.
Works fine. We've published a similar method. I recommend using the latest rooted ROM. Note, your LTE 4G bands won't be changed with this method.
Have written out the steps in detail for novice users. Includes setting up adb etc: http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10253

The method posted can be done with any system.img (don't have to use rooted ROM), there's no need to do the OTA update as its already the latest ROM (though it will be compatible with future OTA updates, thanks to the ROM creator), and you end up rooted.
They are essentially the same, except for flashing system.img at fastboot instead of doing OTA update. Take your pick. If not caring about root, your method is certainly quicker, as there's no need to DL the huge system.img file.
Thanks. Much appreciated
confirmed works fine on a rooted CN version
Hi,
I followed all the steps and apart from thinking I'd bricked it (the system update screen was sat with the blue bar unmoved for 15 minutes) . It's just completed perfectly.
Really great advice - thanks - I got 2 of these handsets yesterday via ebay both came rooted and it turns out they are CN models but had WW software on them - as per your model - prior to reading your post I was probably going to try and send them back.
I hope and presume for future updates I can continue to use this method?
will do 2nd one now.
Cheers
Ian
Thanksssssssssssssssssssss
Honestly, last time that I tried to have a custom ROM or in any other words, last time I installed and used ( I'm still using it) it was on my samsung galaxy tab(the first galaxy tab of all time) two years ago!
At first I was puzzled in all of these forum pages. I started to change my CN rom to WW Rom yesterday at 2 o'clock. Since I started this process, I just ate dinner and slept for 5 hours. The rest of the time I was trying to install 7 different roms which are available in this forum or asus zenfone forum by 3 different methods of loading a ROM! NONE OF THEM WORKED CORRECT AND COMPLETELY. so I had to start again and read. I can easily say that I've read more than a fat ass book for this process (most of them were duplicates, but I was looking for s.th new among them...)
Your method worked just nolw (@ 1 pm) and I'm really thankful. Honestly I was so bumped and I was thinking to send this device back, just an hour ago I saw your way for the second time and I just decided to try this time as the last way, before returning it!! thank u again for giving me a zenfone
keep up the good work
Confirmed ok on 2nd handset - red CN model 32gb 4gb ram.
It has removed the root access though... Supersu app has gone. and Root checker confirms not rooted.
Which is ok because I can now use Skygo app on the phone - really wasn't expecting that to work!
Thanks guys for good news that it work for you too. I hope that TUT will help others to get rid of 13.40.13 which drain battery as $%^&. Without root it's hard for efficient battery save but atm i use battery doctor from G market and I need to say after 4h it drained 3% battery with turned WiFi. I just wait for proper root tutorial.

Hello,
Im stuck at no.5, sorry to ask but I don't know what you mean by phone root storage and where it is found.
Can you help please
He means the base of your SD card. Don't copy the OTA into a folder on SD. Copy it to the base of the SD.
with my cable still connected and fastboot still open?
Because I have put it in the sd card nothing happen
Reboot the phone. You should get an OTA update notification. Or boot into recovery and apply the update from there.

This is my version of the steps:

As far as steps, I can only speak of the ZE551ML. Start with an unrooted OS.
1.) Download the ADB and Fastboot tools from google (see links above). Download the pre-rooted from from shakalaca in post #1 (If you download the 200MB split version, Windows File Explorer will allow you to open the .zip and copy the .img file out.)
2.) Download the stock full ROM WW_2.15.40.10 directly from support.asus.com
3.) Plug the phone into the PC via USB and copy the UL-Z00A-WW-2.15.40.10-user.zip onto the phone.
4.) The phone will notify you that there is an update:
{

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5.) When you select the notification you will be prompted of which file to use in the update:
6.) Hit OK and the phone will reboot and update everything it needs to update per ASUS. (This will include the fastboot/droidboot image, boot, recovery, system, silentlake, and modem firmware.)
7.) Once the update has completed, unplug and power off the phone.
8.) While holding volume up, press the power button until the phone vibrates. At this point release the power button but keep holding the volume up button until the screen flickers to the fastboot menu. Release the volume button when the screen flickers.
9.) Plug the phone back into your computer, open a command prompt and navigate to where you extracted the google tools and the system.img.
10.) Run:
fastboot devices
11.) You should see a your device listed, if you do not, your device is not in fastboot mode.
12.) Assuming you see your device listed in Step 10, run:
fastboot flash system system.img
This will erase your current system partition and then start writting the new image to the partition. Fastboot will split the system.img file into ruffly 500MB chucks and send them to your device.
13.) Once its finished, you can select boot normally on your phone by pressing the power button or run:
fastboot reboot[/QUOTE]

NOTE: Key files are signed with a Digital Certificate from skipsoft.net but some ‘may’ get picked up as potentially harmful by Antivirus Programs and deleted. They are not harmful, this is a false positive given because of the compiler used. If this happens restore the file and exclude the folder from future scans to use it. This seems to happen mostly on AVG Free and Norton. If you are using the Auto Update feature on pro versions then you will need to disable the AV program or exclude the folder from scans before running the update again.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUBLIC (FREE) AND PROFESSIONAL (DONATE) VERSIONS?
THE PUBLIC VERSION OF THE TOOLKIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED TO MANIPULATE AND ROOT YOUR DEVICE.
ACTIVATING THE PROFESSIONAL VERSION ADDS THE MOST USEFUL FUNCTION IN THE TOOLKIT, THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR ‘AUTO UPDATES’ DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT AND HAVE THEM PUSHED TO YOUR PC RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS THEY ARE UPLOADED WITHOUT NEEDING TO DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE TOOLKIT EVERY TIME. YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE LATEST VERSION AS SOON AS IT IS MADE AVAILABLE. THIS MEANS SMALLER UPDATES CAN BE SENT OUT MORE FREQUENTLY, SUCH AS ADDING A SINGLE FUNCTION, FIXING A BUG OR ADDING COMPATIBILITY FOR A SINGLE CARRIER. THE SMALLER UPDATES WILL BE COMPILED AND RELEASED TO THE XDA COMMUNITY AS A FULL (PUBLIC) DOWNLOAD VERSION SO PROFESSIONAL VERSIONS ARE ALWAYS UPDATED SOONER.
THE PRO VERSION ALSO ADDS THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR THE LATEST VERSION OF SUPERUSER AND RECOVERY FILES AND DOWNLOAD THEM DIRECTLY TO THE TOOLKIT.
THE ‘QUICK PICKS’ SECTION[/B] ALLOWS YOU TO PROGRAM UPTO 10 SLOTS WITH TASKS THAT YOU MAY PERFORM ON A REGULAR BASIS OR JUST WANT TO KEEP A SET OF TASKS IN 1 PLACE. THEN JUST SELECT THE SLOT AND IT WILL REMEMBER ALL YOUR SETTINGS FOR THAT TASK AND RUN IT.
PRO USERS CAN ALSO SELECT THE “ANY BUILD” OPTION IN THE BUILD SELECTION SCREEN TO ROOT ANY BUILD AS LONG AS THE VERSION IS SUPPORTED (USEFUL IF YOUR BUILD IS NOT LISTED).
MORE IMPORTANTLY DONATING SHOWS YOUR APPRECIATION AND ALLOWS THE TOOLKIT TO CONTINUE TO EVOLVE AND GROW.
AUTO REPLY LINKS FOR PAYPAL TO GET A CODE INSTANTLY CAN BE FOUND AT http://goo.gl/nyGqv
--------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE READ THE *HELP* PAGE AT http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=1269 OR USE THE INFORMATION SECTION WITHIN THE TOOLKIT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. I HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE IT AND SOMETHING ON THERE SHOULD ANSWER 99% OF PROBLEMS.
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. INSTALLING ADB/FASTBOOT DRIVERS
The first thing you need to do is to install the adb/fastboot drivers. These are needed so that you can unlock your bootloader, root your device and perform other adb/fastboot functions.
THE DRIVERS CAN BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT. OPTION 1 IN THE MAIN MENU.
If drivers are not installed or there is an exclamation mark next to the device:
Plug the device in to a usb cable directly connected to your motherboard.
In the Device Manager a new item, usually called Android 1.0 should pop up in the list.
Right click on the device item then left click on Update Driver Software. Select 'browse my computer' and then 'Let me pick from a list'.
If no adb interface driver appears in the list then untick 'Show compatible hardware' and find the Android or Samsung adb interface driver.
If you cannot find either of these click Have Disk, browse to the Toolkit install folder, drivers folder, click on android_winusb.inf and click Open.
Click OK and select Google ADB Interface.
Make sure you have USB debugging enabled in settings, developer options. In Android 4.2.2 or later you have to enable the developer options screen by going to settings, About on your device and click on Build number at the bottom 7 times until it says You are now a developer. If you have already enabled usb debugging then unplug/replug the usb cable.
On Android 4.2.2 or later when you replug the usb cable after enabling usb debugging for the first time you will get a popup asking you to authenticate your pc. Tick 'Always allow' then click 'ok'.
--------------------------------------------------------------
2. USING SKIPSOFT UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT
When starting the Toolkit you will first be asked which device you want to work with. Working folders will be created and the device files downloaded. You will then be taken to the Model/Build selection screen where you can do a number of things (other than select your model/build): Type '00' to enter your activation code and enable pro features, 'i' will take you to the Information and Help Section, 'a' will give you information on how to add support for a new build.
Supported builds are listed in the Model/Build selection screen and typing the associated number (i.e. 11) will download needed boot and recovery files (stock and custom recovery) then check for and download the latest superuser files available and custom recovery (pro versions only), verify all the files and start the Main Menu. You can now use all the functions and tools the Android Toolkit offers. Pro users can select the "any build" option to root any build (useful if your build is not listed).
--------------------------------------------------------------
USEFUL INFORMATION
How to get into your FastBoot Mode
1. Turn your phone off
2. Unplug your usb cable if you have one plugged in
3. Keep holding the 'Volume Down', 'Volume Up' and 'Power' buttons to boot the phone into FastBoot Mode
How to get into Recovery
1. First boot into FastBoot Mode as described above
2. Scroll down with the 'Volume Down' button until it says 'Recovery mode' at the top and press the 'Power' button to enter Recovery
Show the Menu in the Stock Recovery Screen
1. Hold the Power button and keep holding as you press the Volume Up button quickly. The blue recovery menu screen should pop up.

This is the first release for the Nexus 6P module.
There is no custom recovery (TWRP should be along in a few days), insecure boot image and no root yet. As soon as TWRP becomes available then root routines can be enabled and new public device modules will be uploaded for general use.
All other functions are enabled including installing drivers, performing an adb backup, unlocking/relocking the bootloader (using fastboot flashing command), pushing/pulling files to or from the internal storage, making a logcat and countless other functions that are available.
Explore, Enjoy and as ever please leave feedback. If you think something can be improved I would like to know.

Can anyone flash a repacked boot image for any of the 2 available builds (MDA89D or MDB08K) that I have patched to allow root. I just want to see if my kernel rebuild tools are working for the Nexus 6P so I can make the patched images for the builds that don't have support (also for disabling encryption). If the image does not boot its an easy process to fix it, just rebooting manually back to fastboot and flashing the stock boot image back.
Would prefer someone who knows what they are doing with adb/fastboot (so they dont freak out if the image doesnt boot) but I can walk anyone through it if needed. Just let me know what build you are on so I can post the right one for testing.

Thanks. Try fastboot boot the image first just to see if it boots (save you having to flash the stock image back if it doesn't work). If it does then you can fastboot flash boot the image so it sticks.
I don't know what build you are on so I will post both kpatch images and stock images in case they don't work:
http://skipsoft.net/tempuploads/boot_images/Nexus6P-boot-images.zip
To anyone else please do not try flashing these unless I have talked to you and you know what you are doing. These are still test images and I dont know if they work yet.

Thanks. Try flashboot flash the image first just to see if it boots (save you having to flash the stock image back if it doesn't work).

CUSTOM RECOVERY, DECRYPTION AND ROOT NOW AVAILABLE
I have just uploaded new Nexus6P module files for the Unified Android Toolkit to enable decryption, flashing custom recovery (thanks to TeamWin) and rooting.
Users that have already installed the toolkit you need to run ToolkitClean.exe and select the Nexus6P to clean the module files. You can then select the Nexus6P from the device selection screen to download new module files with everything updated (recovery/rooting enabled).

You probably are in the "D" VERSION... Download Google's factory image from his app, make sure you download the one ending with "K". Flash the factory image to phone and re do the process. I had the same error. That's what I did to fix it

also once i flash twrp, its just not sticking??? I can boot into it through the options, but if i hold power button + up it takes me to the android guy, also if i go through fastboot and select recovery, i still get the android guy.
Lol somehow TWRP wont stick and flashed the boot image and soft bricked Yay !
Can temporally boot into TWRP still
Flashed stock images again manually, but still no booting eek might have to relock the bootloader to get it to boot
So far not so good. . . ..
1. Temp flashed TWRP and booted to recovery to see the SD contents where gone.
2. Flashed the K build patch and the boot.img
3. This device is Corrupt message - BOOT LOOP
4. Flashed manually back to stock ( Bootloader / Recovery / Radio / System e.c.t)
5. Still bootloop
6. Relocked bootloader - still bootloop
7. Good new QFUSE is still Enabled - all that crap is utter ball****
Now not sure what to do - letting it seemingly boot for a while after flashing the stock image

[HONOR 6x EMUI 8.X Oreo] Installing EMUI 8.X on Honor 6X EMUI 5.X and RAM extend via SD Card

My problem is that I can't run correctly LineageOS on Honor 6x, and I didn't know how to run it properly, and I still don't know how to do it because I got bootloop, even if I factory reset...
=> For future people who still want to know how I switch Honor 6x on EMUI 5.X to EMUI 8.X, I write just below the full step and problems that I met during this process (But I think there is already some thread that talk about this.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Installing EMUI 8.X Oreo from scratch on a Honor 6x running with the EMUI 5.X Nougat
First of all, I have to thanks @Djiban that help me for the first step ✌
So, many Custom ROM/AOSP ROM for Honor 6x required an EMUI 8.X base.
And to update your Honor 6x to EMUI 8.X, you MUST DEBRAND your phone to BLN L22 India version of the OS
1/ Requirements (Search on Google for installation and how to use, or ask in this thread below)
Spoiler: 1/ Requirements
- You can choose between those 2 methods (Advise you to take the Huawei MultiTool):
Have ADB and Fastboot tools on Computer: ||__Minimal ADB__|| (also present with Android Studio, Unity3D with Android build support)
For Unity3D, if you had add the Android Build Support, the adb and fastboot tools should be here : C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\20XX.X.X\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\SDK\platform-tools (Replace 20XX.X.X with your version of Unity 3D)
You can ALSO use ||__Huawei MultiTool v8 __||, that get on more an interface(Great Noob Friendly tools).
I advise you to set the 2 tools inside the Windows 10 environment variable to easily use adb and fastboot command on command prompt. Type adb devices on the console tools of your computer, if it's correctly referenced you will see something like the screenshot:

- Unlock the bootloader of your phone ! (you can use ||__DC unlocker__|| to get the bootloader code for 4€, or if someone know to get the number with a simple batch file code ? It would be awesome) (Huawei don't get you anymore the bootloader code, even with the paid service)
To make DC-UNLOCKER detect your phone :
In your phone Settings -> About Phone -> Press 7 times the Build Number => To unlock Developpers Options; then go to Settings -> Developpers Options => Enable USB debugging
Install HiSuite from Huawei to get all the drivers needed to detect your Huawei/Honor phone on your computer
You have to type in dial pad(the default phone app) *#*#2846579#*#* then go to ProjectMenu -> Background Settings -> USB Ports Settings -> [U]Manufacture Mode[/U]. You have to redo this if you disconnected your phone, because it will set by default the HiSuite Port !
Once you get the code :
In your phone Settings -> Developpers Options => Enable Unlocking OEM
Connect your phone to your computer and allow the debugging mode, and choose MTP mode(transfert files, not charging only)
With Huawei Multi-Tool, press Quick Actions(top right of the UI) -> Reboot to Fastboot mode (OS-FB) OR
Open the console (search cmd on windows), and type adb reboot bootloader
Open the console (search cmd on windows), and type fasboot oem unlock YOURCODE
If all good, type in the cmd : fastboot reboot
- MUST install TWRP Recovery 3.1.1 (Other versions will not work for EMUI 5.X Android Nougat) :
Use Huawei MultiTool : In Recovery Tab, it will normally propose you the EMUI5 twrp image or the 3.1.x version. Press Flash Recovery_ramdisk (require you to enable/allow USB debugging on your phone)
You can also choose an image from your download (see link below for twrp 3.1.1)
Or with the cmd
Boot into fastboot : adb reboot bootloader
Install TWRP : fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-berlin.img
||__All TWRP version for Honor 6x[berlin]__||
||__twrp-3.1.1-0-berlin.img__||
- Advise you also to make a backup with HiSuite to save your data, and a TWRP backup to recover your system in case.
- To reboot into TWRP Recovery mode, press Volume + and Power buttons. Or use Huawei MultiTool v8 Quick Actions or type into the cmd : adb reboot recovery
2/ Debrand to BLN-L22
Spoiler: 2/ Debrand to BLN-L22
- See if you already got the BLN-L22 or not : Honor6x -> Settings -> About phone -> Build number
If yes, you can skip this step
View attachment 5233545
- Here is the tutorial made by @shashank1320 to debrand to BLN-L22 (work for BLN and BLL models as I know): ||__LINK__||
(Careful, the 3 links on the firmware finder database may take 1-3 hours to download, they didn't get a good server speed, same as the step 3) And you may need to flash OEMInfo.zip via TWRP !
- Here is some issues that I encounterd and solved, the Huawei MultiTool ZIP is there also : ||__LINK__||

OKKK after one all day (9:30AM to 10:30PM) I finally get it !!!!!!! THANK YOU for your advice you saved my phone if I can say Djiban A look of my new version phone below, very happy !!! Now I have to find how to get Emui 8.X on my Honor 6.X without broken my phone
I really thought that my phone was broken because I didn't backup my OEM info with the Huawei MultiTool and ended into a bootanimation loop even restoring my phone with TWRP.
______________________________________________________________________________________
For those who is doing this awesome tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ln-l22-successful-case-noob-friendly.3679402/ I attach here to my message the Huawei MultiTool v7 that I found on this forum too (but can't find the link in my browser history ) :
For this tool, don't connect to internet when you launch it to avoid auto update, you can enable it after the question about proxy or when you see the main menu. The only bad thing that it's not in english, but the screenshot in the tutorial show you what is what
For the OEM info zip, if you get "sbin/su not found" when restauring int the MultiTool , try also to install it with the traditional way in TWRP via the button Install -> Install ZIP
At the step where you have done the dload method with the update.zip, you will be get stuck in the bootanimation or black screen, it says that you have to shutdown the phone and that's a bit complicated with Honor 6x, you can only reboot whatever you done and adb acess from computer is off (don't activate the bootloader, it can reject the new update you just put in the dload folder !!!)
What I have done is going to Huawei eRecovery mode by pressing and maintaining Power button and Volume +, then choose wipe cache then wipe data/factory reset (it will erase all your data that you have on your last system !). By that, the phone will reboot and get you into the EMUI 5.X and the menu too set your phone, and by that you can rename the folder dload-data to dload through computer as mentionned in the tutorial, then SHUTDOWN your phone and redo the dload activation (Volume + and - and power button pressing)
And that's it ! Some tips to avoid future people stuck for hours and panic because nothing is working and the phone seems to be good for bin
Click to collapse
WARNING : Once you update the OEM info of your phone, the Huawei eRecovery won't find update to factory reset the entire firmware ! So if the Huawei eRecovery tell you that the system is broken and you have to reset your phone (can't avoid that if it tells you that I think), after that the bootloader will be locked, then you can't go to TWRP recovery or start the OS.
DON'T PANIC, go into fasboot/bootloader by shutting down your phone(if can't, just reboot and do the following steps before the phone vibrates when reboot !) : Hold AND Keep VOLUME - , then plug the USB cable
Then on your computer, unlock the bootloader as you already done with the command : fastboot oem unlock THEBOOTLOADERCODE (The bootloader code will be the same whatever your firmware version is, it's unique for your phone harware)

- Some UPDATE Links about this tutorial:
The HwOTA8 tools : ||__LINK__||
Make sure to keep HWOTA8_BLN folder inside HWOTA_BLN_Eng folder
HWOTA_BLN_Eng should be put inside the Tools folder of Huawei Multi-Tool v8
Make sure the path don't contain SPACE such as C:/Program Files
They are new update of the BLN-L22HNC675 (B520)
The newest one is : BLN-L22HNC675CUSTC675D2B520 (8.0.0.520) update on 2018.11.29
Search BLN-L22HNC675CUSTC675D here
You can upload the 3 zip on my pCloud (it's faster): ||__LINK__||
WARNING : On the first boot, wait 3-4 mins. The reboot to the EMUI 8.X can take some times
If after some minutes, nothing happen and you still on the blue Honor bootloop, try to wipe cache AND factory reset the phone via Huawei eRecovery or via TWRP (don't format data, only at the last resort but I think you have to reinstall the firware through HwOTA8 again). Have to be patient, it takes me 6-8 mins to reboot after wiping cache and data at the 2nd attempt.
- After successfully installed EMUI 8.X :
It's possible that you can't access TWRP, you have to reinstall TWRP Recovery through Huawei Multi-Tool (same step at the step 1/ Requirementsabove).
The tool will automaticcaly detect your device and propose you the BLN_TWRP_EMUI8.zip (press Flash Recovery_ramdisk with your phone open in android and allow the debugging connection - see 1/ Requirements for more informations.
Or you can download TWRP 3.2.X-0 (version 3.2.X only ! Other versions may not work, I didn't try it)
With this version, you will encounter some issue with TWRP. You can't wipe chache, or mount/unmount data for example, so some installtion through TWRP may not work, like for OpenGAPPS who maybe can't be installed when you want to try other Custom ROM like LineageOS. If you know how to install OpenKirin(LineageOS) on Honor 6x EMUI 8.X, feel free to share in this thread !
4/ Extend your RAM via SD Card
Spoiler: 4/ Extend your RAM via SD Card
If you succeed all those steps, you may right now see that your device maybe a little buggy, particularly when you open severals android application.
- For me, I used AParted available on the Play Store : ||__LINK__||
- This app require a rooted phone of course : Install Magisk ||__LINK__|| through TWRP Installation (Reboot to TWRP -> Install -> Install ZIP) or use SuperSU propose by Huawei MultiTool button installation
A PDF/Tutorial are available on the app inside, showing you the step to do with screenshot
WARNING : Save your data of your SD card before continue
You may not see big difference by increasing the RAM memory, it will just allow you to open more apps at the same times without crashing or lag
Summary of steps :
Tab CREATE -> press ADD 2 times (or more if you already have some partitions)
Set Part 1 as fat32 and give him his total storage
Set Part 2 as swap and give him his storage (will be for the RAM) (For me, I choose 2Go)
Click APPLY
Go to Tab TOOLS
Select Part 2 - FS: swap
Choose Swap in the drop down menu next to the button Apply
Press Apply
Watch a video (advertising if yo uconnected to internet)
Cancel the installation of AMemoryBoost
Click ON and OK to enable Swap Partition
Now you will saw the current RAM and the Swap memory

You did use multi tool V8 to update to EMUI 8 ? Can see any signe of that in the guide you did follow . I guess it just replace the adb fastboot command .
All went fine for me, I'm now on very last EMUI 8 stock ROM for BLN-L22! thx
But of course TWRP flash is now an issue:
all TWRP recovery versions I fastbooted flash (3.1.1, 3.2.3, 3.5.0, all for bacon) sent me the same message error in fastboot: "FAILED (remote: partition lentgh get error)" . Apparently not EMUI 8 version .....
Oh nice wonderful !!! Happy it helps
I used the Multi Tools for the 3 step because it contains the adb and fastboot tools. But if you have it with the minimal adb software it will work also.
And if you set the adb folder to the windows 10 variable path system, I think you can put the HwOTA almost anywhere in the computer disk.
Yep indeed the twrp not work properly...
And still all my attempt to upgrade my OS with another method without the 3 zip (update, public, data) is not working
There is a workaround for custom recovery, I'll try it seriously and post back here

Spoiler: Installing base EMUI 8 for hi6250 devices.
This was already described in a separate thread which describes the process to get back to EMUI 8 from custom ROMs. You can find it here.
Just follow the procedure in that thread. You need not even flash the frp unlock thing. After that, follow the process described in this thread.
It's recommended to be on original EMUI 8 before installing base EMUI 8 for hi6250. Follow the process linked in requirements to install EMUI 8 first then follow this spoiler.
Procedure :
Make sure your device is running stock EMUI 8.
Extract downloaded image using some xz extractor(7zip can also do this), copy it to pc.
Reboot your device to TWRP.
Format the data partition {Wipe > Format data > type "yes"}
Flash fstab.hi6250b.zip from attachments
Check if your device is detected by adb using
Code:
adb devices
.
Move the img file using adb to device
Code:
adb push -p *img-name*.img /sdcard/
(the img file must be in adb directory).
(Optional, only if you want gapps) Move Gapps in the same manner
Code:
adb push -p *gapps-name*.zip /sdcard/
(the zip file must be in adb directory).
Install img as system image {Install > Install Image > Select > Choose system image > Swipe➡}.
(Optional, only if you want gapps) Unmount and Remount system partition as writable. Go to wipe > advanced wipe > Choose system > resize > Swipe➡.
Flash gapps.
Flash stock recovery. Push it with adb using
Code:
adb push -p stock_recovery_ramdisk.img /sdcard/
and flash it with twrp as "Recovery" after choosing install image.
Disconnect your device from PC and reboot to recovery(stock one).
Clear cache partition and perform a factory reset(You'll get an error during factory reset but you have to do it) (your device will bootloop if wiped with twrp itself).
Reboot, Cross your fingers and wait.
>Booting is quite different in android 11 ROMs on our device. You'll see the "Your device has been unlocked" screen for more time than usual. Then, you'll see the boot animation (for very short time on subsequent boots) and the device will boot to ROM. So, be patient. (This isn't the case with ROMs upto android 10)
>Face Unlock is working perfectly
Spoiler: Additionals
Additionals:
>Its better to charge your device to atleast 70% before doing anything as you'll have ample of time to recover it if you messed up something. If not, you can still charge your device in eRecovery mode and twrp but i found some issues like heating up and slow charging.
>Don't forget to set ringtone, notification and other sounds from settings after booting.
Spoiler: Updates

Same with me.
Hello, do you know how can I factory reset in the Huawei ERecovery step at the end ?
I try to do it so but it keep reboot my phone to TWRP recovery, it's like I can't wipe data/factory reset my phone from the stock recovery.
Maybe TWRP is bloking it ? Should I disable something in the TWRP settings ?
Between thanks for yours work !

Your mistake is that your using stock erecovery.
You have to use stock recovery. Meaning flashing the stock recovery provided in post 1 over the twrp recovery :
- in TWRP Recovery Flash STOCK_RECOVERY_RAMDISK.img {Install > Install Image > Select > Choose recovery image > Swipe}
- in TWRP recovery, reboot to recovery (even if TWRP says no OS installed)
- in Stock recovery, wipe cache and factory reset (error is normal)
- in Stock recovery, reboot and wait
Yep thanks, I forget to choose Recovery when I flash the stock recovery ramdisk, so my twrp install it on the last choice that it's system image
To resolve my problem I reinstall my previous system (EMUI 8 for honor 6x) and this time I wipe the david cache, system, cache ... after format the data partition
And I didn't install any OpenGAPPS and it works fine !
A little empty, but I will try without Google services to see if it sweet to me, it saved a lot of battery so that's nice !
Again, I thank you all of you for your amazing work thank you very much my honor 6x can still live haha
Edit : no it's too painfull without google services haha

Perform a factory reset after flashing gapps too.
Flashing gapps without factory reset crashed chromium based browsers on AOSP 10. This might not be the case with this rom but better do it.

Android without Google services is more and more easy.
Aurora market is a good choice.
I have also some workaround for'GPS localisation and so....
Nevertheless, gapps working fine for me, no device lag cause of it ! All services active and working

? Didn't get you... Did you mean bootloader unlock? If yes, follow @lmaohelp 's guide mentioned in post 1. He described it very clearly.

Yes, it's clear, read the posts, watched YT video, but one of the steps is installing Huawei USB COM driver to replace the SER driver, and I already tried on 2 computers, Windows 10 (updated) fails to install that driver, and without it, PotatoNV won't 'see' the device.

Nope, there's an app on play store called "power menu controls" download that. And the other, you could use Tasker(also an app from play store) to create your custom controls like the ones I did for screen rotation.

what's the procedure you followed to install drivers?
Unzip the attached file, and choose "DriverSetup.exe" and that's it. uninstall these drivers after installing the rom using "DriverUninstall.exe" for mtp to work. The process will ask for reboot in some language(i think Chinese) after uninstalling but it isn't needed.
*These are also the fastboot drivers(but the name in attachments is testpoint drivers).

Thanks a million! It worked., I just unlocked the bootloader, I did not have these drivers.
Now onto next steps... may take a while, I'm old and slow
Well, did not go too far... when trying to flash twrp (as per this guide:
), I'm getting an error:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery_ramdisk' (24466 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.642s]
writing 'recovery_ramdisk'...
FAILED (remote: partition length get error)
finished.
Ideas?
P.S. I also tried
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (24466 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.642s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: image verification error)
