HTC 10/USB-C Dock - HTC 10 Accessories

Having had a wireless charging phone for the past 4 years, I feel that moving to a phone without one will be a bit of a pain. Since the HTC 10 doesn't have wireless charging, I'm looking for a dock to put bedside that will -hopefully- allow me to easily pop it on for charge overnight, etc.
Has anyone come across anything good? Bonus points if it also supports QC3.0

look to lg g5 dock it is very ?

Using an QC 2 dock from iProtect with my M9. They are simple but solid and working as expected. They already launched a USB C dock with QC 3 as well. Will give it a try as soon as I received my 10. Hope it helps.

That iProtect dock looks nice.
But I'm personally going to wait for the docks that are made for the HTC 10, you know a hole on the bottom for the woofer speaker and so on
Neither have I ever liked these universal docks, just seems so flimsy and I aim to keep the USB port on my phones undamaged as long as I possibly can.
An example of a phone+dock combination I absolutely loved, which would be the original Note with Samsung's own Desktop Dock.

It's just so nice to have accessories that fit your device like a glove. I could easily place that phone on the dock without even looking and with one hand. And take it off with just one hand, of course I had to use my third finger to slightly push against the dock while grabbing the phone with my thumb/index/middle finger but other than that it was just so nice.
Same applies to the official car dock I used with my Note back then.. Oh them memories.
Haven't had that kind of experience with my One M7 which is sad since otherwise I've just loved this phone.
Shame that the official accessories have pretty much died and replaced with universal junk.
I mean like with my One M7, I tried three different docks made by a third party "for the M7" (run of the mill chinese designs which are slightly tweaked and regurgitated for each new phone) which were basically what was available at the time
1) USB port isn't aligned properly
2) doesn't fit the phone properly, rocks side to side and front to back
3) this one was just bearable but decided to break after a week or two of use, the internal USB failed so it wouldn't charge anymore.
Fun! So I gave up, whatever. Don't want to waste any more money on crap products.. At times like these I wish I'd have a 3D printer so I could design my own...

How safe is this iProtect dock with all these USB-C Charging shenanigans? Any chance of frying the device?
edit : excuse double post

Lisa from Mobiletechreview mentioned the Microsoft Lumia dock works with the HTC 10, meaning the HTC 10 can charge while screen mirroring, connecting to peripherals such as hard drives, etc. This is pretty awesome and has pushed me toward jumping to get the HTC 10. HTC 10 might be the closest android fans get to a desktop replacement phone. If only it could run full Chrome, it could be a chromebook/desktop replacement.

Some of those docks to not meet the spec, so be careful.

Do they support fast charging for HTC 10?

Slow charge or regular charge? I guess it's meant to do it overnight. Maybe it can be modded to fit our quick charge cables

with a 3.0 charger plug charges fast so my mistake.

How about scaling on those mirrored screens? I have tried MHL cable with my fullhd Sony Z2 with a fullhd monitor and it just mirrors the screen. It is not smart enought to get things smaller on a larger screen ie. the icons are huge on monitor, remote desktop is too small on mobile screen and so is on the monitor, it should instead be scaled properly. Does anyone know will usb 3.0/3.1 connection will be smarter or that is the problem with android? Look at this for example http://www.winbeta.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/HP-Elite-x3-Dock.jpg I am not MS fan or I want to buy MS phone but this scales as it should.

Others photos have been made with Gnex's with flash:
I've been using regular boards pins : used some scissors to reduce their width (did that randomly until it was fitting inside the lego bricks).
Then used a hammer to make two holes on top of a lego brick, evaluated where holes have to be only with eyes. First brick was a fail and gap between pins was too wide, 2nd try was good.
Linked the 2 wires from a wall charger to the pins (need to attach 'em more seriously (with some duct tape) as it's only wrapped around atm).
Then tested and it's charging instantly... (info on phone show that it's "usb charging")
Will probably add some floor so it'll maintains pins in position even if I move around the dock
Yay ;-)
He he, cool :-D
WIN!!

Very nice idea, and great work on it!
Nice work, if only it enabled dock mode.
You said you were going to do it. Looks great. My question is: why does using the pogo pins charge at USB rates? Not a deal breaker for me but I would have expected AC charging mode. Any ideas?

It seems you always get usb charging if u use the pogo pins, so no choice about that.
For the desk mode, well night clock (free app) can turn the phone automatically into a clock when charged and support landscape view... imho it's still pretty limited.
But I guess this lego dock can sit on the desk at my office to get some juice during day (+ that will make coworkers talk).
Anyway I'll probably get a desktop official dock whenever they are out (I'm not 100% sure if my dock is risk-free (use of board pins, use of a wall charger for pogo pins) : any input on risks will be welcome ;p

My mistake. I thought it was you in another thread that said they were going to make a dock out out of Legos.
As for the pogos only charging at USB rates, that seems a little short sighted on Samsung's part. There are numerous threads on here about using navigation/LTE on USB charging and the charger can't keep up. Maybe that's why Verizon's car dock does not have pogo pins and opts for the USB connection.

So, I have a Xoom´s dock. I dont know anything about pogo pins, execpt they have it.
My question: Can I use the pogo pins form Xoom to charge my GN? (I´ll change place to make it fit on GN).

USB "filter", make USB ports look like high power chargers... it works

Recently bought this adapter from amazon, a mfg named +pwr. It makes your lower power (computer and non samsung ac adapter) usb ports look like full power ports. Using it removes the red X from the charging icon and also allows the device to draw the max power available on the port - it's not going to magically make a 1 amp usb port draw 2 amps - but it will allow the device to draw max instead of a lower rate due to low power charging mode.
I've tested this on my PC, in my car and on an older Samsung ac adapter.
Well worth the 5 bucks I'd say. I'm planning to get one for each of my charge points and leave them installed.

Just be careful. There are adapters out there that were of an older design, primarily for the issue with iOS devices. Those won't work (you'll still see the red x). The one from Amazon works (I've tested it) but I can't comment on others. I'd suggest making sure that it at least explicitly states newer Samsung devices to be safe.
I don't suppose anyone knows of anyone in the UK doing these ? They are quoting 6-8 weeks for delivery to UK.
I've done a quick search, but am wary of knock-offs as OP rightly warned about. Would like to get something like this that people have tried and tested, but would prefer not to have to wait 2 months to get it !

This is the one I bought a few months ago, no problems ... yet
This is the one that I have been using for over a year around the world (I travel frequently for work), and have never had an issue.
Can actually support 4 simultaneous devices, and I've tested it at one point with a Galaxy S4, iPhone 5, Galaxy Note 10.1, and iPad all plugged in at once and charged all of them at the same time.
It's got dedicated ports for a ipad, samsung tablet (presumably a little more juice on these two ports), and two "universal" ports that work for most phones (I current use it with my Galaxy Tab2 and Nexus 5) so you should have no issues with both Nexuses.
Also, the size isn't too bad at all, so very portable. The only complaint -- if you can call it that -- is that the blue led is super bright. Nothing that can't be fixed with a piece of black electrical tape

Does this thing have wireless charging or not???

Like the titles says.
I keep seeing mixed answers from different review sites.
It has wireless charging capability. Which means you will be able to buy an lg circle case and you can wirelessly charge. Or no sung in a few weeks there will be a thousand knock off after market backs with it built in.
It appears likely that most or all models will not have an out of the box back where you can wirelessly charge.

Yep. I'm currently doing that with my S3. Though, instead of buying a whole separate back, I'm using a wireless receiver, like the one below:

Considering you can buy the circle cases for the G4, I don't see why you can't buy the lil receiver like I have with my S3. I definitely know the S4, S5, and Note 4 for sure had those receivers you could use, but I honestly wasn't aware if the manufacturers of these made them for other devices besides the ones I mentioned.
Ok, now I have to consider this phone. Thanks!

Not a deal breaker if a phone doesn't have it, BUT it's super convenient and in my case, saves me from having to buy more batteries that'll be useless in less than 3 months.
Speaking of wireless charging, you have any recommendations for battery packs with Qi charging built in? I've seen a few, but I don't know anyone who's actually used one. Just the usual ones you plug into the charging port.

Negative, only the QuickCircle case has QI built in. But Im sure there will be $5 stickers on eBay to connect to any back cover in the near future.

Dash Car Charger

Does anyone know where to buy one of these? They've been out of stock for a long time on the Oneplus website.

I am waiting also. I don't know of any other place to purchase as OnePlus is out of stock, other stores like eBay, Amazon, etc are out of stock as well.
I have read that another option is the oppo car charger and this also works with dash charging.
The Oppo one, from photos I have seen looks exactly the same as the OnePlus charger.... Except Color
If I had a guess I would say that Oppo make, the OnePlus charger. But I could be wrong.

Dash Charge is just a rebranding of Oppo's VOOC.

I have owned 2 Oppo VOOC car charger, and i can assure you that it is 99.9% works for OnePlus 3T Dash Charge!!
1) Here's battery before charging (Note the 'Charging rapidly' at the bottom) :

2) & here's the condition of my OPT3 after 25 minutes of charging :
In my country, OnePlus 3 Dash Car Charger don't have any stock, only oppo does! But fortunately, it works!!
*P/S : I am using Resurrection Remix 5.8.2 Nougat Official ROM
The USA Here, and I just noticed today. OP just took down the Car Chargers from their website totally.
Also, sad to say, here in the states. I can't find the OPPO VOOC charger, from either eBay or amazon. Only the House Variant.... I'm halfway tempted to buy it and buy this
https://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-Power...id=1490371617&sr=8-22&keywords=power+inverter
Basically, a DC to AC Power Inverter, hook up the OPPO VOOC Charger there, and then find a USB cable that works with DASH...
IDK, I WANT to buy it from OP, but I can't =/
EDIT: Here's a BLOG POST from OP About the availability of the Dash Chargers!
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/dash-car-charger-stock-update.507861/
Well I do not know whether it helps, but I do assure you that you can get one in TAOBAO(foreign vesion). In fact even in china it is not so easy to get one because of the limited production

Oppomart is out of stock. And they seem to have high markups as well.

What's the "best" alternative for the car, I need to at a very minimum for it to hold steady while running Waze and Spotify
On paper, the Anker PowerDrive 2 or the Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 should be good. I've used a lot of Anker stuff and have never received anything but a great product.

I use the included usb port in my car 1.5A , charge is slower than dash charging but gets the job done. Im also using Android auto and must be plugged via the car usb port

Any of you guys try the cheap ones on ebay? Some even have 2 ports which would be great since my gf and I both have the 3T. I ordered this one for just over $3 shipped-

Let me know how well it works when you receive it!
Hope it will not put your car on flames
Dash charger is 4.0A. That ebay car charger has a 2.1A port and a 1.0A port. Good luck. LOL.

This is the one I am really curious about on eBay. The seller has two ads up for the same charger, one for DASH and one for VOCC. Output 5v/4.5A so enough power, and still a dual charger. If I know this was legit, would buy over stock for the second USB

I was about to ask about this one!
Anyone tried it yet?
Well the good news is my car didn't blow up, but as expected it doesn't dash charge.
Oh well- I'll give the charger to someone else and just keep the $3 red type c cable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
