Xposed for GX8? - Huawei GX8

Hello guys! I recently got an GX8 (RIO-L01 Single Sim, from Austria), and already am running CM13.
Question is, can we already install Xposed? I'd really love to have my mods back

If you're already rocking CM13, then there shouldn't be a problem running exposed. Just be careful which version your flashing (sdk23 for MM)!

Eh, no good, got stuck into CM's loading screen.
EDIT:Okay, really strange issue, EMUI Recovery is back even though I had TWRP 3.0.0.1 .... how can I get back to my system without having to reflash the system through fastboot? adb for some reason never works except when I connect through the network, and now it's not possible.

Honestly, I haven't heard on that happening before... I don't know what to make of that. Can you flash TWRP again? I haven't rooted my g8, so I'm not totally sure what else you could try other than flashing TWRP and cm13 again. Maybe ask the dev of the cm13 build, if he has any suggestions.

I did get back by reflashing TWRP 3.0.1 and rebooting to it through fastboot boot twrp.img, and had made a backup before flashing Xposed so all is good. But yeah, seems like Xposed doesn't work for this device yet.

Weird, Xposed works flawlessly here.

Try enabling root on dev settings before doing anything.
make sure you install the xposed app first and then flash it...

Okay, all back now.
I originally downloaded the arm64 version, told me it's the wrong platform. Downloaded the arm version, worked but it caused a bootloop.
I use TWRP3.0.1-0 so dunno if that may be the issue?

It works fine on single sim here for me.
Try reflashing the rom and GApps along with Xposed all together.

Do all of you having xposed running have a CM ROM?

Im using emui 4 mm and cant install xposed, stuck in huawei screen

for me it works perfect for several 4.4.2 Roms. I never try it for the new official Sammy 4.4.2, only for the CM11 and 2 other ROms availiable here on XDA and also for the original Sammy 4.2 I had when I got the phone. I can backup and recover all those roms. From what I read the new official 4.4.2 has a different structure so maybe thats why CWM fail with it. But for sure it works for 4.4.2, maybe just not for that original Version!?

Recovery should be the same as for the Europe.
And you can not brick your phone, even with flashing Europe ROMs. The only thing that will not work is the baseband. You will have no signal...other things are the same

So basically, there are no alternative roms that will work with the American version and keep the US bands besides stock? Will the CM version work?

I'm running CM12.1 on my american (version B) P8000. Works quite well on AT&T.
I don't think the installable ROMs are version specific, version A/B are different in hardware to support the specific bands. As long as the access points are correctly defined any ROM should work with version B.
That is good to know. I can't stand most stock ROMs. Especially, when they can push updates that could cause problems. Not so much an issue if you are buying a Stock phone from your provider, and can take it back to the store, but since this phone ships from half way around the globe it becomes an issue.
Just to be safe, after I root and install a recovery on it (Philz or Team), I can just do a clean wipe, cache wipe, and install from zip for CM correct?

I have had my P8000 B for about three days now. CM12.1 on it for about 2 days. Works great. Averaging 20hrs of normal usage on a single charge. Finger print works, and CM works great with the latest version of Nova Launcher. To get LTE you have to drill down into the SIM setting's. CM defaults to 3G, so you have to click on the drop down and switch to LTE.

How'd you get these settings, is this Ver B? I have Ver B, but I don't have the options for "Data Connection" and "Mobile Network Settings".
I'm not sure if this is due to my previous flash of Ver A roms and then re-flashing Ver B to get my baseband back. I had followed skeleton1911's link to flash Ver B (there were two links provided - stock rom and system dump)...I only flashed the stock rom. Was I supposed to flash also system dump? Or is my version different from yours?
Thanks!

I have this problem too. I flashed the arm64 zip someone had linked to in another thread but it still doesn't work.
I 'third' this. I cannot get xposed installed for the life of me. I mean the systemless method though. The traditional method works just fine, but I would rather have the systemless install. I have flashed both versions 85 vs 85.7 and it does not show an install status. I do have the xposed.img in /data. And I also am using the material design app. Has anybody been able to install xposed via systemless???? Help me! I must be overlooking something so simple.

Unlocking device for Lineage OS installation

Hi,
I want to install Lineage OS and the first step is to unlock the device.
The problem is that unlock device tool works only on Lollipop but Lineage requires Marshmallow for installation.
So my question is:
Can i downgrade the device to Lollipop, unlock the device, and then upgrade the device to MM, or when i upgrade the unlocking will be reverted?
Thanks

It looks old, and it is not said it supports MM.
I downgraded my phone back to LL and unlocked the device successfully (the screen when starting the phone was white) but then when i upgraded to MM to be able to install LineageOS 14.1 the startup screen is black again.
How do i know if the bootloader is locked? and if it is locked how can i unlock it?

Any way, can't i check if my device is unlocked or not?
I installed twrp and booted to twrp recovery but when i do normal boot to the stock rom and then boor again to recovery it boots to the stock recovery. should it be that way?
If you are on mm bootloader, once it's unlocked, you will get a verification error message when you boot. It's harmless, but at least it is an indicator that you are unlocked.

I used the modder method to unlock the bootloader and already installed Lineage OS, thanks.
the problem is the my phone has the flickering screen issues and i wanted to try Lineage OS to see if it helps but fortunately it didn't.
It's weird, because on certain screens the screen flickers but on certain apps it doesn't flicker at all.

It's a hardware issue with your screen. It's from a few bad pixels in the top line of where it starts to go bad. A temporary work around is to use an overlay app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applay.overlay
Use it to make a small white square overlay and position it over the top edge of the bad area. You'll have to experiment with the size and position until the rest of the screen is clear again.
The only real fix is to replace the screen. Which, if you're handy and can do it yourself, is not very expensive at all. (under $20 US) there are several YouTube videos that show how.

One other thing, the replacement screen most likely won't be gorilla glass like the original. So you might want to get a tempered glass screen protector.

Miui not working, detected the xposed framework but cant be enabled due to modified framework of miui. Wait for @SolarWarez version, if he decided to make anyway.

Tested on MIUI & Mine is working almost perfectly.
Hello, possible to have a small installation tutorial? thank you
I tried yesterday and my phone does not reboot
I started by installing twrp, then supersu then xposed and reboot
Should it start with just root then reboot then install xposed?

I always prefer a reboot after each individual flash. That way if you do end up with a bootloop you will always know that the last thing you flashed caused it. Also for xposed which did you try the one for AOSP or Miui based?

I got it working by downloading the zip which got posted here earlier and flashing it. Also you need the installer app, you can find it by just searching for it and getting the latest version. You don't need any other zip.

with Magisk 13.3 too?
Some time ago, I install xposed on every phone from 4.4kk, the most important module for me was the gravity box, but always has some problems with miui, and now in nougat, it's difficult that works fine, I think...
Could anyone tell me what can I do with xposed in miui now?in what area is it useful?
