[Q] Any way to remove the clock from status bar in stock 6.0.1? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Just acquired a 2013 Nexus 7 I'm setting up for my brother, and one requirement he has is no time display anywhere... don't ask!
I can grab a third-party lock screen app to eliminate the clock from the lock screen and not have a clock widget on the home screen, so that leaves the clock in the status bar...
I've updated it to 6.0.1, as I assumed that time/clock was one thing that could be shut off in the Status Bar settings in System UI Tuner.... but no joy.
Any suggestions? Or will this require rooting and installing a status bar app? Suggestions in that case?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I'll have a look at Gravity box today.

Okay... after digging into Gravity box, Xposed, etc... any way of achieving this without rooting?
Were it for me, I'd have less of an issue as I don't mind wiping and reloading everything on the tablet (I discovered fastboot this week for the first time, as this tablet had TWRP and wouldn't update or accept a new Google account when I got it ) but... I'd like a seamless experience for my brother.
And you'd think one would be able to remove the clock from the status bar without needing to install a recovery, SU, rooting, installing Xposed and an Xposed module!
Thanks in advance... again.

You can hide the status bar in most launchers ...makes for a cleaner look ....then just swipe down to use status bar ...

Thanks for the suggestion!
I'd installed Nova Launcher as Googling suggested previous versions had status bar clock tweaks in the "Lab" section of Nova's settings, but not for Marshmallow. Needless to say, I didn't see the option to hide the status bar earlier... but it should do the trick.
Now... to find the most streamlined lock screen app to remove the clock there...
Of course, I might just let my brother pick the one he likes best after I set everything else up for him...

[Q] How to eliminate battery and time in Notification bar

Could anyone tell me how to eliminate the Battery symbol and time in the notification bar? I have the bar hidden right now, but I use a different app to monitor the battery, so I don't want two indicators up there, and the time is useless since I have an app on the screen showing the time.
Thanks for the help in advance.

you will have to do this with a custom home screen (aka launcher.)
not sure which, launcher pro or ADW but one of those can modify those settings to a certain extent. I dont have exact details but someone can provide them. also that might require root... are you running root? how about any custom roms? I am pretty sure cyanogenmod comes with ADW, and that in CM adw you can modify those. good luck --josh
I'm running sky raider 2.5.0 and it has launcher pro in it. There is no options for that. Oh well. I'll figure it out eventually.

Go to the Themes and Apps forum. There is a thread in there with zip files for removing the clock, location reticle, and/or battery icon.

[JB] No Navigation Bar, Google Now Gesture, Circle Battery Mod

With the help of a lot of developers I've been able to make what I find the best setup. There is no visible navigation bar, there is a circle battery mod, and the swipe up gesture for Google Now works. (The navigation bar is 1dip, which is invisible, but allows a swipe up gesture for google now).
Credits go mainly to vicino (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=504865) for sending me an apktools compatible with JB, and a how-to, so make sure to give him thanks if you like it.
And he_stheone64 for the images for the circle battery
For google now just swipe up from the bottom to access it. (The regular nav bar doesn't work, only the google now feature). I recommend the use of LMT for this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
The zip attatched is to be flashed in CWM
(Note: this has only been tested on bigxie's, it should work on any running stock JB though, at least for the GSM versions)
So the navbar just works like normal?
E.g. Tap middle for home etc.

Do know there is a bug which makes it invisible when the phone enters landscape mode (works perfectly fine other than being invisible though).
To fix it you can just go back into LMT and reset a pie menu option, though I actually like it being invisible oddly enough.

Messaged you.
Would it be possible to utilize the half-circle from the Google Now up-swipe to replace navbar? Like, add back, home, recents, etc to the circle, just like in LMT? Would be an even better solution than using LMT since it wasn't able to toggle the LMT pie from the bottom of the screen the last time I checked.
How could we used the HOME button feature?
Nexus 7???
What are the chances this can be done for the Nexus 7???? I checked out the rootzwiki forum on the no nav bar but it got my device caught in a bootloop. I know this is the Galaxy nexus just thought i would ask considering the mod is for JB.
This is excellent. I am using it with Button Saviour and it looks great.
Any chance of taking only the battery from your MOD and flash it without everything else?

GeeMod - Xposed module for Optimus G

Here is a Xposed module which I made for e975's 10H stock rom (probably compatible with other versions - not tested yet)
It's features (adjusted separately):
1. Hiding QSlide apps toolbar from notification drawer
2. Hiding brightness bar from notification drawer
3. Hiding bar with date/settings/clear from notification drawer
4. Hiding quick settings from notification drawer
5. Changing status bar background to transparent (black)
5. Changing status bar background to black or transparent - FROM UPDATE 1.2
6. Changing airplane switch to LTE switch in quick settings - FROM UPDATE 1.1
7. Disabling CDROM autorun ("Checking PC driver" annoying popup ) while connecting to PC - FROM UPDATE 1.3
Additional info
LTE SWITCH
Quick settings have LTE switch by default but it's enabled only for some mobile network operators and work in "LTE, CDMA, EvDo, GSM/WCDMA" mode which is not supported in my mobile network. My module enables switching between "GSM/WCDMA auto" and "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" which is available more commonly (at least in my country ) . Use it only if your mobile network operator use that modes too.
Transparency
Added as experimental feature. Note that stock launcher is not drawing wallpaper under status bar so you cannot get transparency effect on it - would be black. I maybe fix that later but I treat that as low priority. Use other launcher - e.g great launcher "Apex Launcher".
To get nice look in apps use that feature with "Tinted Status Bar" Xposed module and set "Status Bar Tint" value (in Tinted Status Bar) for your launcher to 00000000 . If you use GravityBox make sure that you have OFF on "Statusbar tweaks -> Statusbar colors -> Enable icon colors". I attach screenshot to show you how it works.
Please test this mod and share your ideas/opinions here with me.

Wow, great mod.
Work great with ARTMOD stock ROM. I was looking especially for feature 2.

On my optimus G (stock rom 4.1.2) transparent status bar doesn't work. Although, very good effort and waiting for new updates.
thanks
For me it's fine!
Regarding requesting new features, it will be great if you can port a MOD like this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546180
I've modded with Gravity but wifi and network signal appears solid white....
Great mod!
Hope we`ll see more features!Congrats
wow great!!
could you add the clockspeed and brightness hack? (edit thermal.conf [system/etc] the last lines like the line with full speed.. (last lines must be the same!)) is this possible with xposed?
can u add for homescreen delete search and "+" and make it to 5x4 (for help, on sprint G forum there u can found that modifed launcher.apk!!)
can u add to disable the popup by connecting with pc with the driver.iso (i hope u know what i mean...)
is it possible (is there a script/build.prop) to slove the redraws on homescreen by press home on apps... and appdrawer loads little longer always after redraw..)
so that was all from my side
Thanks for the great xposed module!!

ok it is working but the status bar it is not transparent as said above, it is totally Black. Waiting for a version with a true transparent status bar and ability to set more apps in Qslide. Thanks for your hard work, waiting for updates!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for your feedback.
Minor update is available in first post.
I appreciate your ideas. I'm doing research on them. Please wait for future updates.

Could you be more specific what exactly is not working?
None of those functions are working.I've tried all of them checked-nothing changed.I've tried with each of them checked ,but still all the functions like q-slide are present.
I've restarted the phone after each modification..

Have you installed Xposed Framework and enabled GeeMod as its module (must be checked) in Xposed Installer->Modules?
GeeMod is still quite simple and cannot detect yet if is correctly activated or not.

What version of stock rom are you using? Are you sure that some other mod (e.g. GravityBox) is not setting black background for status bar? If so, turn it off. If you're familiar with debugging you can also help me sending log from
Code:
adb logcat -s Xposed
with disabled all Xposed modules other than GeeMod
thanks
thank you for this mod. i waited so long for and xposed module to disable that annoying qslide tab!
anything else you do with module from now on it's a bonus for me! great work!

[Q] Don't know why this is happening?

I am running 4.2.2 stock and rooted on galaxy s4 T Mobile. The only things I did to customize my phone is using busybox and Xposed with Xblast that allowed me to change the status bar color on the icons, battery, wifi, network indication, and clock. That's really the only customization I did to the phone using Xposed. I also have Widgetlocker app and just some nothing out of the ordinary apps on my phone. If you look at my screenshots you will see a black box with white words in it. That's normal of course but then you will see in another screenshot that there is a blackbox but with black words that you can't see. I don't know why this has happen the blackout words and it seems like it's only on certain apps that is why I am able to show different screenshots. Does anyone know what I am saying trying my best to explain this. I don't want to reset my phone I did it once already when this happened but now it came back. I also tried fixing permissions through busybox and that didn't help. If anyone has anything that can help I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,

The ROM you are using uses the same font/style source for both toast notifications and whatever else you were actually trying to change the formatting of.
You can easily fix it by disabling Xposed, or just the Xposed module that it causing the issue. But you probably can't both fix it and keep that Xposed module.

Hey thanks for the reply. I disable the Xblast module and it work so far. The black box is now replaced with a white box with black words again. But I don't remember ever having a problem using the Xblast on my S3 like I am using it on my S4 now. Also since I disable it is there another way to change my icon colors in the status bar and maybe be able to hide the battery and or clock up there as well? Do you know too how to change the T Mobile name in the notification pulldown to label it something else that is what I was using the Xblast mainly for changing the status bar and label.
I have attached 3 new photos showing the notification pulldown with the word Stormchaser and the one showing the original status bar, and one showing the customized status bar that I would like to have, is there other ways of doing this without using Xblast?
Try wanam xposed? You can do all that you want with it

Statusbar tweaks

Hello guys,
Is there any way, xposed module or something like that, for editing the statusbar icons? I would like to move the signal and wi-fi icons to the left part of the statusbar. So far, I tried a couple of xposed modules but none of them worked on stock (.263) Sony rom. Thank you.

Don't know which ones you've tried, but typically Gravity Box, X Blast tools, Gem Xperia Xposed all will work on stock rom.
I have tried all of them. But none of them has the ability to rearrange the icons of the status bar.

That's the next one I was going to mention. It's been a while since I used it, so don't remember exactly, but it's not the same kind of 'push-button' auto tweak type thing like Gravity Box, etc. It's a little more technical, but way more versatile.
Yes, the mod Flat style bar indicators is incredible!!
