Thanks, this might come in handy.
Also to the bolded: right click > Mark > select with mouse cursor > press enter. Then dump it within code tags.

Ah, you're on Windows 10.
Well, on Windows 10 you can just straight up select the text with your mouse cursor, no need to right click and select mark first.
Select the text you want and press enter to copy.
The older "mark method" is still there though, right clicking the title > Edit > Mark. The edit submenu of course has other useful stuff as well.

Control C and Control V commands work now in Windows 10 as well for copy and paste. As does Control A for select all!

good to know the japanese version also has the control partition.
mmcblk0p58: 00004000 00000200 "control"
American and International don't seem to have that.

Could anyone pull the sprint partition table and post it? I am on International firmware, but a sprint user. I'm trying to see if the reason CM doesn't boot with CDMA phones is a partition issue.

hey guys..
anyone can share the parts except system and userdata..? acytually i need modem parts...radio, modemst1 and modemst2..
device is always on flight mode.. when i try to make call it says; turning o radio..

Also I have dumps of all these partitions and GPT backup.
If someone need to restore something – send PM (C1905 btw).

Difficulty extracting recovery partition from F460

EDIT: oops problem solved using carliv image kitchen
I'm completely at a loss here trying to just make an image or mount the stock recovery partition on the F460 variant. Much thanks to anyone who looks at this...
I did the standard dd to img file and I can't open it, getting a bunch of errors (see below) when run through various disk tools. I tried to dd the exact block range which just produces the same result.
I tried mounting the recovery partition on the device but mount doesn't want to work with me.
Code:
1|[email protected]:/ # mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p21 /sdcard/recovery
Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory
1|[email protected]:/ # mount -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p21 /sdcard/recovery
mount: Invalid argument
I booted into recovery from ADB just to see if it was even intact and it showed the stock recovery logo just fine.
Here's some (helpful??) details...

I'm trying to find partition name of my OnePlus 3T device to copy its raw disk file in PC. I've been trying since several days. I always stuck on finding partition name of my device.
i have tried diskinfo and many codes that I found randomly on xda but cannot retrieve Oneplus 3T partition name. any help?

S-OFF, but can't flash boot.img via TWRP? (only via fastboot!)

i'm a long time HTC user and also used to dev for htc devices a bit, but this is new to me ... i recently acquired a new HTC 10 64GB 2PS6500 (came already with S-OFF, SuperCID and converted to 2PS6200 to run on WWE ROM and firmware 2.41.401.41)...
TWRP via fastboot installed just fine (tested with 3.1.1 & 3.2.1), created a "read-only" copy of system-image and boot to extSD. but when i tried to install magisk (tried 13.3 as well as 14.0) via TWRP it only claimed that it modified+flashed boot and rooted systemless... but once booted again, the latest magisk manager always claims "no magisk installed"!!
tried also to install custom kernels (like i was used to from htc fireball & butterfly in TWRP)... flash claimed to was successful, but after reboot to system it still showed the stock kernel running instead ...
in the end i had to switch to magisk beta-channel & created the magisk'ed boot.img via magisk manager (on stock unrooted rom!)... copy that safely to my extSD... and next then flash this boot_magisk.img via fastboot ... this sure worked fine and the HTC 10 is now successfully rooted via magisk beta 14.5... but i still don't get it, why TWRP cannot successfully flash any boot.img at all for me???
is this because i have the 64GB edition? an issue due to MID conversion to WWE/EU (2PS6500 -> 2PS6200), maybe because TWRP is still in read-only mode for system (but that shouldn't affect boot, shouldn't it?) ... or could there be any further issue with my device that causes TWRP to be unable to successfully flash ANY bit images at all
thanks for any :thumbup::thumbup: hints and guidance
Since no one has answered at all, I can only speak to the boot.img flashing - you're correct, keeping the system read-only should not affect flashing the boot.img from TWRP. I can't speak as to the 64GB-specific version, however. Hopefully you can find enough people on XDA who have the 64GB version who can share their experiences.
Good luck!
maybe the conversion from 2PS6500 -> 2PS6200 makes TWRP mess with the partition layout or is it the 64GB edition thing?!
not sure if TWRP currently accesses the partitions by-blockID or by-name ... so maybe the partition layout of my "htc_pmeuhl XC" (not PVT!) could be accessed in an incorrect way due to a different partition layout???
here the partition layout via adb su-shell: (connected to ... currently viper10 5.11 magisk-systemless edition)

man, I have the same f#cking issue with the 32gb version of the phone, never had any issue like this before. but I have to patch the boot.img for magisk and flash it via fastboot, otherwise I'm not able to use magisk and custom kernels fail to install too! even with the install img option it does NOT work!
thought I'm the only one, talking to @nkk71 and @Captain_Throwback at the moment, to see what's causing it
I even RUUed th phone several times with the US unlocked RUU, because I converted to that (never had issues with that though) and also latest WWE, but nothing fixes it. also when installing custom roms they won't boot anymore, but haven't tried to install the boot.img via fastboot of the custom rom, because I spend several sleepless hours fixing the problem and will do it next week or tomorrow.
this issue started with 3.2.0, before with 3.1.1 it worked fine, but now even when RUUing the device and installing older twrp, it does not work
Did you guys get S-OFF + LOCKED using sunshine?
actually... i dun know ... when i bought the HTC 10 64GB... it was supposedly unused & new (but instead came delivered S-OFF bis unknown method! ... and US -> WWE converted MID pre-done!)
this was very unexpectedly for me... so can there be an S-OFF being set, that IS no "real S-OFF" overall???

to be honest, I'm in no mood for any of this.
@BeauBs if you wish to answer them, I'll leave it at your discretion.

try unlocking your bootloader again, it was suggested by beaups and jcase and man it helped and I can flash boot.img/kernel in recovery again!!! be sure to backup data as it will be wiped
just to be sure: this means... unlocking via htcdev-token then, right? (losing data-connecton -> re-encrypt or custom kernel etc.... yes i've read through those threads)
... since it will be quite possible that there isn't a pre-existing S-OFF token in the sunshine database == be sure not to touch the S-OFF flag ... right?
PS: sorry for the bother... didn't wanna annoy any of you. just stated the facts (about my new mobile) the way i know them

I still had TWRP installed, unlocked and then TWRP booted, it used the openrecovery script and wiped data without media, means it only wipes the ROM's data, not the internal storage too.
But to be 100% on the secured side, backup data AND save your content from internal storage somewhere else.
I did it and it worked fine. Now I'm able to flash kernels and magisk through TWRP again. Phone will show you unlocked, but who cares now xD
I hope this helps for you as well, seems like something the boot partition got write protected
And you won't lose data connection, this was for older stock ROMs, so those threads are invalid now afaik. Used only magisk with stock kernel on my device for a few days and had no problems with days connection
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs
Just to inform for others who maybe find this thread after having the same problem (with a second hand device?).
I had exactly the same problem and used the solution here.
This issue came after my touchscreen was repaired by HTC.
I received the phone back with stock ROM, bootloader locked and S-OFF.
Apparently HTC does something with flashing stock Rom that creates this issue.

It's probably not a thing HTC did. In the first editions of sunshine (s-off tool) you could choose the the option to s-off and keep the bootloader locked, then this specific issue you just described was discovered. The sunshine developers fixed that issue in future updates.

I see, but for 1,5 years I have been using the phone and flashing a lot without any issues.
Now after a repair and back on HTC stock room, able to install TWRP but flashing magisk or kernels not possible (although in TWRP it seems successful).

I had this problem after RUU the phone a few times. Then even with s-off and locked flag it turned really locked, had to unlock again to be able to flash kernels

well for me... i decided to unlock bootloader via official htc-unlock code and now it is working finally as expected.
strange though that the previous s-off was incomplete apparently.
at least for now the issue is solved for me (even if i would have preferred not to have to go through the official unlocking)

Backing up Partitions

Once device is rooted, since there is no extSD, FULL backup options are limited. I'm sure people know about this but just wanted
to share what I recently learned. Via Busybox/Toybox , netcat, and dd one can dump the partition data using dd over a netcat TCP stream on a local USB network. With one terminal pooping it out, you have another terminal capturing it and dumping it to a image file.
Example:
On rooted phone connected to PC
Reboot into TWRP or Lineage Recovery (tested on Lineage Recovery they use Toybox. I think TWRP uses busybox but I could be wrong)
Code:
adb devices
<make sure adb sees device>
<Enter ADB Shell phone # prompt should be present>
Code:
adb shell
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/sda19 | gzip | toybox nc -l -p 8888
(may work better w/o gzip/bzip2 but will create massive userdata file whereever you store it.)
or
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/sda19 | toybox nc -l -p 8888
<you have been warned!>
*this command will run and read sda19 (userdata), piping the output through gzip to compress (or directly to netcat if omit compression if used alternative command above) then to the toybox/busybox command executing netcat over tcp port 8888.
|'s (pipes) are used when the output needs to input into another COMMAND/PROGRAM.
> (redirects) are used when the output needs to write to a FILE. |'s for programs, >'s for files.
On the 2nd terminal on computer
Code:
adb forward tcp:8888 tcp:8888
Code:
netcat 127.0.0.1 8888 > userdata.bin.gz
OR if you elected w/o compression use
Code:
netcat 127.0.0.1 8888 > userdata.bin
instead (or any filename u want really).
<this command uses netcat to capture the stream of data sent over port 8888 from the 1st terminal and dump it to the compressed/uncompressed image file.>
This will take a long long time. There are dd options to speed up the process but I'm lazy and maybe will include later. Compression option will speed it up but not sure I trust it as I get unexpected end of file on the archive when I test it. Havnt tried it uncompressed yet.

Imaging Android with ADB, Root, Netcat and DD
Today we are going to acquire an android smartphone (Samsung Note II) using Android Debug Bridge (ADB), netcat and dd. The system I am using is Ubuntu linux. On the “forensic workstation” you will need ADB and netcat installed. I’m using the excellent instructions from here.

How do I stop an adb port forward?
One can forward a port with adb forward tcp:8080 tcp:8080. But do I need to kill the adb server to stop this forwarding? I'm looking for a way to stop forwarding of a port in adb, after it was set...
