Question about Xposed Framework. - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I just rooted my HTC 10 and installed Xposed and got the Youtube Adaway Module. My previous phone was a Z3 where I had used GravityBox which ran fine. Since this is my first HTC device will the GravityBox MM work for this device or is there an alternative besides GravityBox.
Thanks Again.

As I remember GravityBox is programmed to run on and with AOSP based ROMs. Now when it comes to HTC, stock ROMs aren't AOSP based. I never used it myself though and I'm a long time HTC user. If you want you can try it if course, but should perform a backup prior to doing so.

Just tried and it works, only needed GravityBox to show the AM/PM and change the battery icons. Can't say about the other features on it as I only needed these two functions. Also got Xposed working with greenify, and Youtube Adblock. Looks like I am good to go for a while!

Sounds as if. Have fun with your new 10!

Most GB features work. Lock screen features don't due to a non AOSP lock screen.
Adaway works.
Wish we'd get Sense Toolbox. Missing my secure lock screen.

Okay thanks... I just flashed v84 sdk23 arm64 and it gave me "Updater process ended with ERROR: 1 what did you do to get your xposed working? thank you

first off, I mean this the best way possible. You need to be both more clear and more complete in your posts and questions. I could (and many would) very much give you a hard time but will try to help you.
1. If I'm not mistaken, that is a TWRP error. You can do a forum or google search and you'll find many threads about it with options.
2. Post the TWRP log so we can see what happend, or take a screenshot so we can see exactly what the output text on the screen was before the error.
3. Are you using TWRP? I assume so if you're on an HTC 10.
4. I simply flashed the proper exposed module in TWRP.
Long story short way too many variables to simply answer your question. You could wipe the cache and reboot into recovery, re copy the .zip to your SD or adb push it over. and reflash

Yes, I am using TWRP3.0.2.2. When I flash xposed v84 sdk23 arm64 I get what you seen in the photo. When I open xposed installer (V 3.0 alpha4) I get "The latest version of xposed is currently not active". Though I'm still searching I still cannot find what my particular problem is. I hope these attachemnts can help. Thank you

If you look at the screenshot it tells you exactly what the problem is. Did you even read it?
Tell us what it says directly before the error?
"system mounted as read only file system" - you didn't mount as read/write. You have to mount R/W for SU and anything like this you're going to flash.
Try again, this time set the system to mount as R/W and be sure to read and watch what you're doing.
People are here to help but the trade-off is you must make efforts and not solely rely on others to solve your problems.

i am on stock 5.0.1 rooted, twrp 2.8.6.1, s-on
busy box on rails tells that busy box is installed but some applets missing (in details it tells one applets missing while others installed)
finally not useful as i want busybox for V4A , so waiting for solution.
What I did was to backup via TWRP the ROM - wipe the phone and restore the ROM. At the end right before reboot TWRP asked me if I wanted to root the rom, did so and all was good.

How long did you wait after installing xposed? The initial boot after flashing xposed can take a VERY long time (like 10+ minutes).

Try uninstalling xposed installer first to see if the zip can boot up without the modules. Sometimes if the module is not compatible then you'll get the infinite booting screen. Learned that the hard way. Spent hours.... Lol

I know that. He didn't know if the same applies for twrp and I thought you would like to get an answer to your question.
Just flashed the zip file through TWRP and it left me in a bootloop!
You need the deodexed system apps to get it to start. If you don't want to mess around, just get Genesys ROM and all is fine. Otherwise search for the deodexed system apps.

Installing Xposed with Root Access and TWRP?

I appreciate the fact that many will think this thread is a complete waste of time, but i'm struggling to find out how to actually do this with the G4. I have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed, but from what i've read the latest Xposed Framework installer (v79) is still causing bootloops on this phone. Are there any safe methods to install Xposed without using the drawn out solution posted here?

I don't think you are an idiot... You have actually taken the time to read the thread and check compatibility which is very smart.
I know v79 skd23 works on cm13 and genesis v3.5 so any marshmallow based roms should be fine. If you have issues then use the uninstaller and if that fails then restore the backup you have taken. No harm done. If you do have issues I'm sure a fresh install of your rom of choice and then install xposed (and nothing else at the same time, plus wipe dalvik and cache) should sort you out.

We're okay, i sorted it. Never been so scared in my life, thought the phone was done for because i had no ADB or Fastboot to save me. It turns out that by choosing the factory reset option in the LG recovery, it simply boots straight to TWRP because the default recovery is missing. Then i was able to flash the Xposed uninstaller and it booted fine afterwards.

Sorry..... That's your issue. I actually told you wrong yesterday. I meant to say stock based marshmallow rather than stock. It will work with genesis v3.5 which is stock based and an easy flash of you are already on marshmallow. It's due to xposed needing the system to be deodexed.
Regards,
Ravi

xposed runtime for Marshmallow update?

Is there an xposed runtime .zip or whatever for the marshmallow update to Sprint s6 to be able to use xposed modules?
I still have:
xposed-v80.0-sdk22-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160211.zip
Which worked on LP, but I don't want to flash it and mess up the phone if it's not supposed to be for this version.

There's a marshmallow version of xposed in the original thread, however, we don't have twrp yet. There's no way to flash a zip without that, at least that I know of. I'm sure we won't be waiting too long for twrp though.

I've gotten a full day of heavy use with a custom ROM, I didn't make it to 5pm today. I had greenify and amplify working on the custom rom though, so hopefully now that we have recovery, I can test out xposed and get some of those things back. This was my first Samsung phone, I'm not sure I'd go to the S7 after this experience. I came from a phone that easily got 1.5 days on a charge.

Flashfire works to flash xposed with. You will want the sdk23 version that is made for MM though.

I can't get this working correctly.
I installed flashfire and flash the zip and let it keep the option to mount system read/write, and i see it unpacking files, and then the screen goes blank and eventually i have to force it to reboot.
After reboot, xposed apk says it's not installed.
Is there some other way to flash the zip?

You used flashfire? That won't do it for me. After extracting, goes to a black screen and I have to force a reboot, then xposed afterwards says it's not installed.
Worked just fine for me. For multiple different files. V4a, xposed, and a couple other things.
Screenshots added for exact settings I used.
Flashfire takes a few minutes to load once it does all that unpacking. My suggestion would be to be patient before forcing a reboot.

More screens.

Thanks. I notice you have SM-G925P?
Does it matter that I have G-920P?
After it does the "loading..." showing the unloading and all the files extracting, the screen goes black, and it's unresponsive. Even after 10 minutes.
I used all your settings... same thing.

That's odd, I wouldn't figure there'd be that much of a difference between the flat and edge model that flashfire would work for me and not for you.

Well, it's been 15 minutes now. Still black screen. I'm going to have to reboot it.
Is there some other way to install the .zip?
