I was wondering if anyone can elaborate on enabling the peeking feature for notifications on 6.0 update?..as far as I can tell it's enabled for all my apps, yet I'm not receiving any notification at top of screen from any app. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
I've never heard of such a feature. What do you mean?
Part of the 6.0 update was peeking notification. U can access it through, settings, apps, then select the notification settings for each app...it's like toast notification. If you Google it or check lg update page it details this feature as part of update, but it's not working for me
If its the one where screens off andnslide down to see notifs. Lock screen must be enabled

I want a way to stop my SMS from appearing on my lockscreen, I tried to find a way to turn it off. I am a privacy freak and i don't want my messages appearing while my phone is locked...can anybody help me?
You can have it hidden it'll just say new message but that includes for notification bar as well its in the settings of the messaging app
Yeah I don't understand the sms notification. I wish you could just disable the lock screen notification. It doesn't function the way I wish it did. It also makes all other sms widgets on the lock screen pointless.

I have Zenfone 2 with a custom Cyanogen Mod 13 installed. I have been trying to disable the installed app notification that pops up on the bottom screen. It’s probably not an issue for most, since I really couldn't get anything on Google to disable this annoying notification. For me I find it very intrusive when something pops up and covers information on my screen. Just like heads up notification I want it gone. Is there a way to disable this? Or an App like Headsoff that works? I have NotificationsOff app installed but it doesn't seems to disable the damn thing. Any ideas on disabling this notification would be greatly appreciate it.

I recently moved to Google Pixel XL with Android Oreo. I am trying to fix the Notifications. Below is what happening.
Steps
-Enable Fingerprint unlocking
-Phone is unlocked and screen is awake
-Receive a Whatsapp message on the device
-The message is displayed as a prompt on the center of the screen with text field to reply.
Expected:
I don’t want the message notification to appear on screen. My phone should just buzz and if I need to check I can pull down Notification screen and check it

WhatsApp -> Settings -> Notifications -> PopUp - set to "No Popup".
I haven't tested this - but I don't get modal pop-ups...and this would logically seem to be the way to control. Good rule of thumb is to always explore an Apps settings to see what user control it gives you on its behavior - notifications and otherwise.

Your video appears to show Android Settings. As my response indicated - you need to access Settings within the WhatsApp application....and try to toggle the setting I found.
Could someone please help me disable peeking notifications and vibrations? My notifications settings on 8.0.0 and now on 8.1.0 aren't doing what they should, I go to settings>apps & notification>WhatsApp from there I make everything low priority so there's no pop up on the top or any sound. But it doesn't work, next message I get I still get the chat notifications on my screen. I've gone to WhatsApp settings also and turned off pop up and sound it still doesn't work I'm so confused... I'll post pictures of my settings
Just started using Oreo, and have found something annoying and hoping I'm just missing a setting or something.
In Messages (and every other app so far) I have the option to Alert and Pop-up, or just alert without the pop up notification.
When I choose to just alert, I expect the notification Drop down to still show content. However, it's hidden unless I choose to notify with pop-up. I can't find a middle ground.
Checked security settings, and the only thing related is to hide content on the lock screen.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?
