camera not found on asus zenfone 5 - Zenfone 5 General

I'm trying to install the CyanogenMod 13 on zenfone 5 more every time I unlock the bootload the camera stops working
the only way to solve this is to downgrade the stock rom
is there any way to solve this without the downgrade to the stock rom?
I want to use the CyanogenMod 13 with camera

Unlocked bootloader Android 6

So say install stock asop Android 6 with Gapps on Asus zenfone 2 with an unlocked bootloader. What has happened to any of all you with your device? Was the os bootlooped or any other issues I need to beware of?
You can say goodbye to your phone...
Marshmallow isn't ready for the Zenfone 2 yet, it has an Intel X86 processor in it, most other phones use ARM...
Do it and you will have a brick...
Actually there is AOSP build of Android 6.0 for this device,
you can find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-android-surce-project-t3287218
and if stock meant google stock aosp build then i agree with you.
i have not used it so cant say how stable/usable it is atm, however there is also cm13 build as well
Thread closed per OP request.

GPS On CM13 Z008

Guys i recently flashed CM 13 on my ZenFone 2 ZE550ML. I was a beta tester for Asus' Marshmallow version and got tried with their fake update promises. So i downgraded to lollipop using AFT unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and then CM 13. But i noticed one thing. My GPS is not working in CM 13. It was not working in Asus' marshmallow beta but it was working on official lollipop firmware. Is anyone else having this issue?
Please check and confirm.
PS. I checked it using apps from playstore but mu GPS didn't even show one satellite while i got 15 satellite locks on my mom's Moto G4 plus.
same problem
after downgrade from MM beta a gps can't lock satellite
it still looking for gps ......... ....... .......
how can i fix this issue? :crying:
Device : ZE551ML
sorry for my bad English

latest version of twrp not working for zenfone 2 z00a

Hi
I flashed the latest twrp-3.2.1-0-Z00A.img & twrp-3.1.1-0-Z00A.img on my Asus Zenfone2 (Z00AD) but they are not working... Therefore I flashed twrp-3.0.2-0-Z00A.img, which is working well for marshmallow roms, but nougat roms shows error 7 on installation... please help
On my zenfone 2, twrp-3.0.2-0-Z00A.img is not working and quite a few other versions as well. My phone was on lollipop, android version 5.0.

So... I'm a bit out of loop.

I've heard good things about LineageOS and I would like to try it
1) I'm still in Lollipop and I didn't want to update to Marshmallow because of the bootloader troubles there was some ages ago. Is it better if I go from Lollipop?
2) Any missing features or things not working in the Zenfone 2 version of LineageOS? Is there any implemented functionality for the Zenfone Flip Cover?
3) Is LineageOS less prone to freezes and crashes than normal Lollipop? Cuz the main reason I want to switch to LineageOS is because my phone is now very prone to crashes and freezes (And, no, factory resetting doesn't even help). How's the RAM usage? (I have the 2GB RAM model)
4) Just out of curiosity, but I heard about dual boot patching. When it is recommended?
5) Anything more you guys could recommend me to?
As of now I'm in stock Zenfone Lollipop with root, unlocked bootloader and an Xposed I'm not using right now (it might be version 78)

Hello
1) It's okay if you flash from Lollipop. Most tutorials for LineageOS will tell you if you need to upgrade your bootloader to Marshmallow bootloader.
2) I use Groovy Android (the latest version), which is based on Resurrection Remix based on LineageOS (android 7.1), and everything works well! But no functionality for the ZenFone Flip Cover unfortunately
3) I had freezes on the stock ROM, but now with a custom ROM my phone is stable and fast
4) I didn't try this
