Can ROM devs please support those of us using Unlocked on VZW? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys!
All of the ROMs currently released don't support the 'Preferred Network' option that is required for us to use our Unlocked 10's on VZW's network.
Attached is a screenshot of the required option, as well as the build.prop and /system/customize/ from the stock unlocked filesystem to hopefully help you guys add this feature. We require the 'Global' option to use our device with the VZW radio (as of now).
Thanks for reading, hopefully someone can come through for us

I'm using LeeDroid on Verizon, and everything appears to be working properly.

With an unlocked 10?

Ah nevermind, looks like he fixed it in the nightly builds and a stable build should be coming today/tomorrow.

[Q] Verizon M8 ARHD 5.0, 5.1?

Hi,
Anyone tried flashing latest ARHD to Verizon M8 yet? What works? What doesn't work?
The rom thread notes that "Verizon and Sprint variants not fully supported yet" but it doesn't clarify what exactly doesn't work, and I don't see any comments to that effect in the dev thread. Forum won't let me post there until I have 10 posts, so I'm asking here .
Thanks!

You have a Verizon HTC One M8? Radio (2G/3G/LTE), wifi, bluetooth, all works? Do you use Sense-6 or GPE? What custom recovery (Philz/TWRP/other)?
Thanks!
I believe Verizon support was added in version 1.3.0 onwards.
Edit: My bad, wrong ROM

"For HTC One M8 (Verizon and Sprint variants not fully supported yet)"
Okay, here's what I've done so far:
1) Install weaksauce and supersu to get temp root
2) Use 2nd firewater method to unlock bootloader (Verizon blocks normal htcdev method)
3) Install twrp m8_wlv version from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717928
4) Took a backup with twrp

Hey Andrew,
How did you get ARHD to work with CDMA? Mine can't find Verizon network. Edit: Does *find* it, but cannot register with it.

Roms

How difficult would it be to port a rom over from the other carriers for the developer edition? I understand there are build and kernel issues. I would be happy to experiment, but I have little knowledge in this area. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I've gotten a couple T-Mobile ROMs to install but when I change the APN settings for VZW they will not save.

AOSP will not install, it throws an error everytime. I have tried several times but I can't get the APN settings to stick to enable LTE.
Someone will figure it out eventually. I remember my galaxy s4 was in the same boat on GPE ROM for a while
So, basically I could flash something like dynamic kat and ktoonz or faux for tmobile, get it booted up, change the APN and if it sticks, I'm good to go?

correct. firekat for tmo has a verizon version in one of his first 5 posts you can download and try. i know a guy running it with nadia kernel with great results. Not sure if on a tw rom you even need to change the APN settings

You can either wait for root on the retail edition or purchase a developer edition when they are back in stock. Those of us who are flashing ROMs have purchased a developer edition that can be rooted unlike the retail edition that most have purchased that can not be rooted yet. The link I posted for a developer edition is the onlly way you can get one besides buying a used one. Verizon dose not supply these.
Is root getting close?

It's hard to say but your best bet is to follow this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...s-only/rd-rooting-n910a-n910v-models-t3042045

Are there any ROMs yet that aren't Sense based?

I've looked through the Development forums and haven't found anything. I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.
There are a couple that "de-sense" the rom as aroma option.
But no true AOSP yet as I can see.
I haven't installed a ROM using Aroma before. That is pretty cool. I installed Venom de-sensed. I like it better than stock for sure, but the one thing I'm really looking for is a ROM with a stock Lollipop dialer/phone setup.
Any ideas?
Edit: I see the Redbulled ROM mentions the GPE dialer, but will it work on a Verizon phone?

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3090118
Cool. I hadn't seen that yet. I'll give it a try. I was able to install the dialer by extracting it from my M7 running GPE, but as soon as I start the call it reverts back to the Sense phone app. I'll see if that works any better.

nothing will work on Verizon until you can unlock the bootloader. and so far as of this writing Sunshine won't unlock the Verizon M9
I'm S-Off via Javacard and unlocked.

Convert HTC 10 to US unlocked

Credit goes all to gooface I'm just repeating as a thread as its lost in another thread
Let's only leave this as GSM only
Follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/guide-root-optionally-s-off-radio-t3373025
then change your CID to BS_US001
fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
then install this: http://dl3.htc.com.s3.amazonaws.com...WL_M60_SENSE80GP_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.80.617.1.exe
after all that you have to reinstall TWRP and then reinstall the Superuser from that first guide. (if you want root)
I did it to get rid of the tmobile stuff and to get the latest firmware updates faster than what tmobile will release them at. That and Tmobile is already behind the official updates by 2 releases.
Everything still works (VoLTE and wifi calling)

Stick with the US unlocked RUU (like this guide suggests) You will keep VoLTE and WiFi calling.
I have been running my phone like the OP says since the day I got my phone from T-mobile and everything has been flawless. (May 18th)
Thanks for the credit in the OP btw

So you haven't noticed any difference in LTE signal strength? I haven't done anything yet (I got my phone at the T-Mobile store at 10am May 18th) but I did sign up for Sling at the $13.99 a month T-Mobile customers discounted monthly price. I am wondering I will lose the $6 a month discount if I make the changes...

I just rooted the new android 11 update.
The only difference from android 10 is you should now use the newest magisk v23 rather than the older one
I followed this guide exactly except skipped all the magisk workaround stuff and just used the latest version of the magisk app to patch the boot.img

To be honest with you, I don't know if this will work for At&t, it might but I don't have the at&t model so I cannot verify for you. You can try flashing via adb sideload in recovery and see but non of us are responsible if things don't work lol

After a bit of experimentation I managed to get it to work. Although you can't just `add sideload` it since the verification will fail. You'll have to unlock the bootloader and dd some partitions manually. Then once it thinks it's the global variant you can `add sideload`. I made a thread about it https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/turn-at-t-into-a-the-global-variant.4393631/
