[CAMERA] Broken LG G4 H815 Camera Lens - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Few weeks ago I broked my g4 camera lens at work, so I bought a BISLINKS lens that might be "AS OEM" but it was really bad. Volume buttons doesn't fits like they doesn't have enough room on the piece so the force into the volume board causing strange things and the power button wasn't working good. So I made a second shot buying a new BISLINKS lens, but same story as the first one. Even bad, because the package wasn't as described in eBay but just on a ridiculous blister.
However after a lot of time wasted and spent, now I just want to repair my camera lens. Now it's two weeks that I can't take good shots for the faulty lens. Because I was forced to set up again the old one.
Now I am here asking some help from you guys, can someone link here a good lens? Maybe made of glass and not plastic. Id like to bring my device to LG but they takes time and also a lot of money. Anyone had bad experience as mine? Or maybe good experience with good lenses. Just link here them to help me find a good one. I can spend 15/20$ (15€). Even more if it's necessary...
Thank you guys!!

I also got my lens cover broken. How about using your old volume buttons with the new lens? I fixed it that way and it is still working for me. If you really want a new set though, I suggest trying etradesupply or sourcing one from aliexpress.

I don't have in the package the volumes buttons, I use my original one and the problem is with them. I am really disappointed because when I set the original piece they fits good. So it shouldnt be me...

How much are they asking for ?
Lenses can be had online at spares parts sites. OEM as well. This guy says he got them off ebay.

I bought them for 7$. But when I set them, my original volume buttons doesn't have enought room and they force into the volume board freezing the system. Because it's like you keep pressing volume up or down button. I got this problem with both.
First I thought the problem it's me, but when I set the original broken one they fits good. And also other peoples on the net about BISLINKS LENSES had my same problem.
LG ask 80€ (95~$).

Nothing in either sopt for me. I have a minuscule amount creaking up at the very top of the battery door. Just have to push the battery over up a little bit and it goes away.
No creaking for me in those spots or anywhere else.
Ah, I have that creaking...but I have to push very hard. Bought mine via Expansys. Doesn't bother me too much. OP, how much pressure do you have to apply to make it creak?
Yea I definitely have the creaking when I press down around and below the camera. It's annoying b/c that's usually where I rest my finger when I'm on the phone. Is it worth trying to get the device replaced?
It always is and always will be user preference. Some people have lower thresholds for the little annoying things. Getting it replaced is solely up to you. For me, it's not a big enough issue.
No issue here. Sorry.

It could be a software problem? Was it like that before loading cyanogen?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I just spoke to the seller about 20 minutes ago. He says it is not a software problem. It has something to do with the internal hardware. He got the phone analyzed and was told something needed to be soldered. After hearing this, I have decided not to purchase the device.
However I am still curious to know what exactly the problem is and how/why it occurred in the first place.
Has anyone come across something similar..even with a different device?
Thanks again for your replies.

Might be the ribbon cable between the screen part of the phone and the keyboard. This is known to affect the colors displayed on the screen if partially damaged. I think its pretty cheap to buy a new cable, and not too hard too replace it. But IMO its not worth it, as there is no guarantee that this is the exact cause. Could be something else. Plus, taking apart the phone is not the easiest thing in the world, especially if you aren't experienced with that sort of thing.
Totally not worth buying a phone that is known to have hardware damage, unless you are experienced trouble shooting problems with electronics and fixing them. I'd steer well clear of this purchase.
i got this issue too.. i need the G2 as my secondary phone.
so might want to get it repair. anyone could share whether its ribbon fault or the LCD fault?
I would absolutely LOL so hard if the red screen is caused by that option in CM7 that lets you change the screen colours and such. Are you sure that that's not what it is?

Yeah, exactly. He doesn't analyze thepost hard enough.
Anyway, I notice the phone so much slower after this. Not sure is this coincidence.
Thread starter.got the problem fixed yet?
So I have the issue as well
Thanks to @ihugyou for pointing me to this thread, did any of you find out how to fix this as it has happened to my G2.
thanks
Probably needs a new LCD or new flex cable, never experienced it myself so can't say which component is more likely, guessing LCD though

Ordered Kit from Ebay
Well for $21 + $4 (tape) = $25 I have ordered a new LCD screen for my beloved G2. It has been a while since I did any type of electronic repair but I figure for $25 I really have nothing to loose.
If not, time for a new phone.
After 1.5hrs I now have a new lcd and life is good.

[PICS] [DIY] Replacing my Screen

Decided to replace my screen myself since my phone is out of warranty. I bought an OEM Samsung screen (that includes the frame) so that I wouldn't have to mess with glue at all. It was about $150 for the screen.
I also decided to replace the USB port because of charging issues I've been having. The USB part cost about $10, and finally the outer frame / casing (with a new back) ran me about $20. So overall it was almost $200, but I have a new phone again I bought all parts off ebay and so far I'm really satisfied! Everything fits perfectly, and the phone looks flawless again.
I only used this youtube video as a guide, it was all I needed. It was pretty quick too, only took me about 30 minutes or so to do everything.

Mid-operation: had to test to make sure the new screen worked before I put it all together:
After:
Oh yeah, I did this myself because after my screen cracked my warranty was voided. I dropped $150 on the screen because I didn't want to get an off-brand screen of lower quality (or risk anything not fitting). Nothing but OEM Samsung here.
Hope you enjoyed
that looks awesome, it's pretty much a brand new phone now. if you dont mind could you provide the link for the OEM Samsung screen + frame for $150?
thanks
As good as new!

The auction is expired, but just search ebay and you'll find one. Make sure to get the right one (ie: verizon one won't work with a sprint frame, etc).

[Q] Cracked Screen - Which part needs replacing?

Hi all,
Just my luck, and what a way to start the new year!
My nephew managed to knock my phone off the table and onto the tiled floor, cracking my Galaxy Note 2 N7105's screen. (My new case comes in tomorrow T_T)
It has a big smash to the glass front, and I was just wondering if someone could tell me which bit was broken? E.g the glass or the digitiser etc, and how much it would cost to fix?
The phone still works PERFECTLY, S-Pen works flawlessly too, so I'm guessing it's just the front and not the digitiser that's the problem.
Here's a picture of the damage.

The digitiser or just the front glass screen? If it' the digitiser it'll cost me over £100
However, if it's the glass, it'll cost me £15.

You only need to change the front glass. The glass itself doesn't cost much you can get one easily from eBay. Unfortunately the glass is bonded to the LCD by strong adhesive and you need to carefully remove it so as to not cause any further damage to the display. You need some tools and also hair dryer/heat to remove carefully. You can search in YouTube for tutorials before proceeding to try on your own. Good luck :good:
Just wondering if you tried changing the glass? I have the same problem and am trying to decide if it's within my abilities to tackle this

Wow, maybe your lucky, search on YouTube there are many videos of how to fix your digitizer. And you need heater, i think hair dryer can help, tiny both side tape, and free time.

[Q] OPO Origami dock?

At the back
Inside is this thingymajig. I'm pretty sure this is some sort of a dock or something
Rear view
Tried putting it together. With all my best efforts, I've failed.
Only got this far. I dunno how to build the back part.
I tried searching for it on the interwebz but to no success.
Can anyone please point me out to a tutorial on how to build this?
Extra info: My OPO doesn't come with the Cyanogenmod logo at the back (dunno if this is a good thing). And it's got ColorOS bundled (Now using temasek's).
TIA!!
Have you scanned that qr code? May be some info will be there.

Thank you very much!
How is the slot made? Is it folded inwards? If so, guess I'll have to work a bit with scissors and glue ?
Can you provide the measure of that big horizontal fold near the top, so that I could calculate its dimension (preferably in metric)? ☺
Thank you again! ?
no idea if this is right or not (dont have the dock) but it looks like it might be an opening for a "speaker"
if you look in the bottom of the slot where the phone sits, you can see that its open for the speakers.....so maybe the sound gets directed down and out the back side of the dock.....maybe?
dont have anything that I can draw, but the opening at the back might point towards the phone....so the sound kinda loops around.
