This site is proper: I have downloaded more than 1 ROM for other tablets and installed them and they worked successfully.

I also download rom from that site

The only ROMs on that site for our device are stock by the look of it. Would be nice to have a pure Android or CM ROM that's for sure.

Yes, a pure Android or CM ROM (Android 6.0.1) would be so nice...

Very true so why aint there even 1 custom rom?

because...omg what is this crap I bought! It's one of the most regretful things I did in my life

I totally agree the worst thing I did...

I really like this tabelt for what it is in premium edition. No lack of power for all jobs that are to be done with it and some light gaming. Custom ROMs aren't there, that's true, but honesty: what do you need a custom ROM for on this specific tablet? For me - and I'm a flashaholic as well - all has been there from the start. No need to flash any custom ROMs at all. Only thing I'm missing is the lack of updates regarding, at least, Marshmallow. Huawei definitely has to catch up-to other manufacturers regarding this special aspect. Just my 2 cent.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs

I don't regret byuing this device, all works great and theres enough power to get things done. Marshmallow would be great, with doze. Let's wait and see will we get that someday. I asked huawei about that update, but theirs answer was that they don't know will they update. Cm would be great alternative.

I have had this device for two days now, the Premium version and i just love it, perfect size in my opinio, and big plus is the u can make calls and sms with it hope to get the android 6.0 some day

Although I found this today, its one of those ad deals you have to do first before you can download. So not sure if you want to do it or not.
Guys i just found a custom rom for Android 7.0 for our tablets Android 7.0

Have you tried this ROM yet ? Or it just a phishing site ?

So I just found a Lineage 14 Rom for the P8 Lite, (Has same chipset as our phone). How possible would it be to port that rom to our phone? It would be us going to an unofficial Android 7.1.1.

Sony Z1 C pure Marshmallow

Good evening to all the community,
I haven't been here for some some time.... since I had my HTC Hero.
This was a phone that I installed so many custom ROM... Back in the days Android was not so developed and the demand was enormous...
But back to what I mention on the topic,
I am really disappointed with Sony, this phone costed me a lot of money, and not even two years have passed and they just don't give a FXXX.
Is there any way to install a pure android Marshmallow on Xperia Z1 Compact ?
And another thing... can we remove this big notification banners, as for whatsapp or hangouts... it's annoying...
Thank you for you attention!
The two years = no further support is completly normal. No difference in brands there.
Clean marshmallow? Possible. Bugfree? No. Take a look at fxp: http://fxpblog.co/aosp/aosp-6-0/
I find latest 5.1.1 update from Sony to be a good one, and I do not regret buying and owning this phone for two years Not loads of custom ROMs, but CM has always been good.
When CM13 nightlies start rolling and gets stable enough, I'll jump over to the custom ROMs wagon and enjoy bleeding endge Android again

Hi,
I've been into custom ROM's before.... thing is, some of them are not stable, and there is always something crashing or not fully working.
thanks for the tip, I'll have a look.

Something like this http://s9.postimg.org/7oqzyxzkv/Screenshot_20151205_191800.png ??
If you realy want to try Marshmallow you need to download unoficial build AOSP_M_151019_amami.zip from http://fxpblog.co/aosp/aosp-6-0/ and since these build can't boot I have fixed bootloop with recompiling kernel booth for boot.img and recovery.img, so simple replace recovery.img and boot.img with this new one https://mega.nz/#!ABhFTCLA!A55h9N0DQfJgi5Yxa9mmk3CrLlP_hEKOTDamZs6kaxs and try! And one more thing, its not for daily usage since audio is not working, camera...etc!
is there some video of rom online ?

i got my new asus zenfone2 ze551ml should i root?

title says it all thanks
Do you want to use anything that requires root? Then yes. You don't? Then no.
I personally do use apps that require root, plus I enjoy having full control over my phones, so I immediately root, unlock the bootloader, and install a custom recovery. But that's not for everyone.
Just use it for a week and see if there's any functionality you miss. Or to put it a different way: when in doubt, no.
well i use xmod b4 but now i cant even if i root my phone cos its x86 i have htc desire x b4 rooted.
but this fone i see a lot of threads "UNOFFICIAL" on rooting, unlocking bootloader, rom and etc... so im 50/50 i dont
want to brick this phone even if its cheap..

Depends on why you'd want to root. I like tinkering and using Adaway, so it was a no brainer for me.

Its your choice. Like what others mentioned. Depends on what you need.
YES. The bloatware is ridiculous. I'm probably going to write a tutorial on how to do everything start to finish if you're buying a new 551. Not that bad if you have all the files. Really easy, but good grief, are all the tutorials out there now confusing. Most don't even tell you, you need to downgrade... Took me hours to figure it out. Finally, have a debloated rom, root, and busybox installed so I can install Kali Linux
Yeah the bloatwares! But i think im gonna wait till android m has been released thanks all?

Same, I am going to wait until Android M as well. I found that when you root phones b4 they get their "improved" stock firmware, the modem/wifi/bluetooth never seem to flash the same and are always buggy. I am being careful with this phone because it works quite good minus the terrible battery life, but on my OnePlus One, I found a 40% increase in battery life even on the early early Android M roms. Seeing that there is no roms even being worked on for 6.0, I am going to play it safe...after all, some of the bloat can be removed without root. Of course not the annoying ones though

Yep that literally posted about the same time I made the comment lol. But having official firmware for Android M built by ASUS themselves, then having it customized by Asus would be better. I do not mean to insult CM, but I have yet to see a truly stable version of their software. Every phone I have had has shown to have issues with CM based roms. It's not the guys customizing the roms, its just the fact that CM is more universal and not necessarily developed for this specific phone by the original coders. Modded code always has issues, and if it comes out perfect, I hope these big companies pay whoever mods it to perfection and gives them a phat paying job. I want ZenUI, its one of the best non AOSP UI out there IMOP. I only want root to clean out the extras I don't want/need. It has more customization than a phone needs for the most part.
I am waiting also.

Black view P2

What a great mid range but high spec phone the p2 is.
Rooting this device is so simple too.
Open dev options in about phone,
Allow OEM unlocking,
Root device,
Enter code ( google it ),
Reboot to root.
Really hope some ROM developing is going to happen for this device.
Its almost Vanilla as standard which is very nice.
Only gripe I have with this phone is the hard keys have no back light but I can live with that as at least Black view have kept them off the screen.
Great phone and I'm getting 8-10 hours SOT and I'm a heavy user.
I purchased from Amazon which I've linked below.
Fingers crossed fro some custom romage for this

I've been able to find a few ported ROMs at the Russian 4pda forum (not allowed to post links; google "Blackview P2 - Прошивки"), as well as TWRP. You'll need an account in order to download, otherwise you'll get a nice 404 error (I wasted quite a bit of time last night dealing with the Russian captcha, so good luck with that. :fingers-crossed
I've tested a couple of the ROMs available so far, but other than getting rid of the horrible icons in the stock version, I've can't really see any advantage of the ROMs currently available.
Think I will give that a miss. Thanks though.

I'm very tempted by this phone. Is it running okay with the Nougat update? and does it still root easily on Nougat?

Is there a Custom ROM for Huawei 7X/Mate SE?

Would like to use a clean version of Android instead of the EMUI version that is loaded on all their phones.
Seeing how these phones are identical, figured what would work for one would work with the other.
Thanks for giving me any insight.

Coincidentally, just booted that ROM (on my SE) today. It's very very good, noticed a few minor glitches to do with the camera and navigation (will let them know about em).
I'll admit though, emui8 is growing on me It's certainly better than 5.1 was. Love to see the roms becoming available though. No doubt when updates stop (or before), they will be critical to have.

I don't mind emui except that the power-saver regularly kills tasker, ad-blocking vpns, etc. I've tried everything to exempt them from power saving but no go. The battery life is outstanding though (I usually only lose 15% after a full day's usage), so for average users it's a bonus.

Nothing terribly serious. I didn't use it for long, but the camera option for selfie shutter 'palm to camera' didn't work. Also the recently taken shots didn't show in the bottom gallery (I read this is fixed now). And the navigation arrows at the bottom seemed to not be persistent somehow (after a reboot this was okay).
It's easy to go back to stock, except if you haven't backed everything up, have to reconfigure, add / subtract apps etc.
I'd suggest searching for the openKirin website, they seem to be doing the most development. Also follow their directions, they worked for me and pretty easy.
Hi
How does one flash the "Openkirin_los_beta4" Iso to the Mate SE (BND-L34)? TWRP?? Fastboot??? what are the exact steps to not render it a paper weight again lol; Do you need Magisk-v16.0 to root it as well?

No, you don't need a custom bootloader.
You only need unlocked bootloader and unlocked frp.
TWRP is not supported on OpenKirin ROMs (especially on 7x twrp won't work).
You just need to flash the .img file through bootloader and then reboot to recovery and do a factory data reset.
Can anyone give me some advice: I have the Mate SE, currently on EMUI 8.0.0.332 (security update available but not installed), with TWRP and Magisk. I would love to install a custom ROM, but the OpenKirin site says TWRP isn't supported. Can I still install one of those builds and just expect no support if something goes wrong, or should I find some way to return to full stock before flashing? And if I need stock recovery, where can I find a download for it? I haven't had any luck on searching here yet.

Custom Roms

Considering the Kernel source is already available, how soon could we expect a custom ROM like lineage OS to become available?
Maybe some months
Inviato dal mio MI 6 utilizzando Tapatalk
Is it worth it??
Ive been using this phone with the global one and the only issue I found is the auto brightness. Sometimes the screen is too dark and is not so accurate tbh.
I would like maybe more battery duration but it seems fine (far from my ex phone, a huawei honor play) but in general terms the ROM works pretty good.
so, no kernel sources yet and therefore nobody is working on a custom rom.
are there plans to start so?

There was no global version neither release for the Mi 8 SE, things are quite different.
We just have to wait for Qualcomm 712 sources to be released, exactly the same as with the 855.
As stated on another thread, there is no point in waiting for a full ROM when device is Treble enabled.
FlokoROM is already working fine on Mi 9 SE, you can download Aonly GSI img from https://treble.andro.plus/ and flash it.
On top of that, it looks like someone is already reworking the kernel using CAF sources.
For some reference and a full ROM list, you can check https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble
