So I've now purchased a wall charger and a car charger that both have QC 3.0 and claim to support the HTC 10, but neither of them show the "Charging rapidly" when charging my device. Only when I use the original charger or an external battery with QC 3.0 does it display that. Is it possible that it's still charging using QC 3.0 while charging if it doesn't display the "Charging rapidly" on the lock screen? I really just want a car charger and additional wall charger with multiple ports that will rapidly charge my HTC 10. I'm really sick of buying accessories that do not when they say they support the HTC 10.

THIS is a good multi port charger I have one and it quick charges and displays on the phone it is. I use this cable on it.
For a car charger I use THIS and it quick charges no problem with THIS cable

I just made sure they were the latest cables, the ones you linked to are USB 2.0 and 480mbps. while I made sure to get USB 3.1 to USB 3.0 cables and have 5gbps. I know the speeds really don't have much to do with charging say, but I think the generation of cable has a lot to do with it

Hmmm.... good point, if someone could confirm this maybe? Does make much more sense, I guess I should've read better. I will just get one of your cables because I just recently bought a QC 3.0 car charger and there's no point in it if it ain't fast charging.
So the Aukey multi-port charger came with a USB-C cable and it claims to support the HTC 10, so it's infuriating that it doesn't work.
I use this wall charger and it shows "charging rapidly" on the screen. I have an older cable with the micro usb connection, so I use this adapter to make the connection to the phone. Combined, they work like a charm.

Are you using a USB-C to USB-C cable? those accessories only have quick charging on the USB-C port. If you buy new ones make sure to check what ports support the QC 3.0. Sometimes the only have one port that has the QC and the rest are normal 2 amp ports.
I've just ordered the Aukey 6 port USB Quick Charge 3.0 Wall Charging Station from Amazon UK (link below), so I'll test it once it comes in and post here with the results. One thing I noticed is that the Aukey hub only supports QC3.0 on the USB-C plugs, not the USB2 ports. I'll be using this to charge my HTC 10 and my Pixel C using the USB-C ports and USB-C cables for both devices so I can see if both QC3.0 AND USB-C Rapid Charging works at the same time. The remaining USB2 ports I'll use to plug my Qi charging pads into and my smartwatch charger. Looking forward to not having so many plugs lying around.

Okay, so I just got delivery for all my bits in my previous post. I've made sure both my HTC 10 and my Google Pixel C ran down the battery to 20% on each and plugged them both into the USB-C ports on the Aukey charging station using USB-C to USB-C 3.1 cables, both 3 foot long. I'm not using any of the cables that came with my tablet or phone or the USB-C 2.0 cable that comes with the Aukey charging station, I am using Belkin USB-C to USB-C 3.1 cables.
Using the Belkin USB-C 3.1 cables both my HTC 10 and Pixel C show Charging Rapidly after around 45 seconds on the lock screen with a time remaining counter.
Using the Aukey USB-C 2.0 cable that came with the Aukey charging station I do not get Charging Rapidly at all on my HTC 10, I only get "Charging" and a percentage.
However, I do get Charging Rapidly with time remaining counter on my Pixel C when using the Aukey USB-C 2.0 cable.
Based purely on my own testing, I would make sure you use high quality cables, preferably the 3.1 gen cables and then nothing will be slow. I have no idea why the USB-C 2.0 cable doesn't like to Quick Charge my HTC 10, and I don't have any other gen 2.0 USB-C cables to try out, so sorry about that.
I hope that helps some of you out.

Mine does not show Charging Rapidly even though I use HTC supplied charger and cable! Do I need to activate it or what? I am using and EU plug converter to my US charger, might that be the problem, although I doubt it just passes on the same supply, its not a frequency/voltage converter.

I'll check tonight and let you know later, but I'm pretty sure that the charger that comes the HTC 10 in the box is NOT a Quick Charge 3.0 Rapid Charger... Which would explain why you are not seeing "Charging Rapidly" with the original charger and USB cable. I may be wrong, but I will let you know either way in this thread as it is honestly something that I did not look at when I got my phone. Mine is a UK model bought in-store in the UK so what you get in the box may vary depending on the region you purchased from.

The supplied HTC charger and cable are QC 3.0 compatible. They show "Charging rapidly" when I connect my phone.
The iClever 24w QC 3.0 charger works with the orange-e 3.1 usb c. It displays "chargin rapidly". This is probably unrelated, but the charger doesn't show it as chargin rapidly, but the phone does.

The supplied charger is definitely a quick charge 3.0 charger, it even says it on the power brick. It doesn't matter what region you are in, all of them come with a quick charge 3.0 charger.

Yup, you are correct. Just got home and plugged my charger in and it too shows "Charging Rapidly". COol, now I have a backup in case my Aukey stops working for whatever reason.
@fidanhGPE I'm not sure why yours doesn't show as Charging Rapidly when using your original charger, possibly something wrong with your handset maybe? Sorry I can't be of more help to you as all mine works fine with the original HTC supplied charger and HTC USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and also with the Aukey charging station and a USB-C to USB-C Gen 3.1 cable.

It might be the converter because you should get "Charging rapidly" when using the charger and cable that came with the phone (that is still weird though), and yes they are Quick Charge 3.0 compatible like the other person mentioned above.

I checked it, it QC 3.0 and it is charging rapidly, though I get it only on the power/battery settings only, no notification when I plug it in.
On another note, do you know if I can use old (normal) car chargers on HTC 10? Will it charge the phone, although I am not expecting a quick charge there? Will it harm the phone?

Nah man just make sure you have a type a to type C usb cable that has that 56ohm resistor crap to make sure your phone will be fine. Phone will charge just fine. I actually just got a QC 3.0 car charger as well and it doesn't charge THAT much faster than an old car charger I had.

I noticed that my HTC 10 (Europe Unlocked FW 1.80) has trouble charging on 1A chargers, the charging LED blink every 5-10 seconds.
It does work fine with a 1.5A charger and the bundled quick charger (2.5A). It did also work fine when attached to the laptop directly.
Did you also experience this behavior?
I have original HTC wall charger 5V-1A and HTC charges without problems on factory cable.
On non complaint, cheap usbA to usb type C cables the led is blinking and not charging.
I have charged my HTC10 on a 1A charger many times and everytime without problem.
Interesting, I am also using an original HTC charger with the bundled cable and I do get the issue.
Are you by any chance also running the 1.80 ROM?
Today I updated to .401, I have EU phone. No charge issues, my phone charges slowly from this 1A charger right now.

I did simply read what was written on the charger and assumed that it would be correct. I did carry on with my investigations, and the phone charges fine with a lot of charger (including Samsung & apple 1A). It just fail with 3 old HTC ones rated 1A.
Did you tried to move the usb plug in the charger to determine if it is connected properly? Do that and watch if the red led on the phone lights up.
Yes, I did move the charger it does not help.
The red LED is active for about 10 seconds, then it stops, and after 2 seconds it lights again.
But in the end I don't mind - I just use other chargers

I am on 230V, I have eu spec, original HTC charger from my M7 bundle, I noticed that one of my cables ordered online has something wrong with the connector and I need to move it in the charger to get it working so I thought, maybe the HTC charger wear quite quickly and some connector can not fully connect with the paths.
All my other type C cables are fine with it. I use this charger to charge my M10 over night and the QC3.0 charger to quickly charge on the desktop.
I have been charging my 10 every night on a Samsung original 1A charger + original HTC USB A to C cable. No issues at all.
I recently bought some cheap USB A to C cables, and the phone won't charge unless I pull the USB A end slightly out from the Samsung 1A charger.
But the cheap cable works fine with my other chargers, so I presume it's a mechanical tolerance issue between the Samsung 1A USB A jack & the USB A end of my cheap cable.

Same with my HTC charger and certain USBA connectors.
I've had a nexus 5x before and own a pixel table. Both come with USB C port to charge. So i bought a itian qc3.0 charger at that time. (http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_389793.html)
Now i changed to the lg g6, but it refused to do the 'fast charging ' when i use that chargers qc3.0 port and even says 'slow charging' when connecting to the usb c output.
Is it the combination that's just flakey or did they put something specific in the original charger that comes with the lg g6?
I'm bit lost on the topic of chargers currently, anyone care to enlighten me on what should could would work?

Works fine with my wife's charger from her Galaxy Note 4 as well. ? (Pretty sure that's a QC 2.0 charger as well.)
Does LG not provide a qc 3.0 charger with their own phone ??

After a quick Google search I've had no luck ascertaining if this is QC 2.0 or QC 3.0.
From what I can tell, my phone charges as fast if not faster using the 5V/3A charger that came with my 6P.
From what I've read online, the LG G6 also supports USB-PD.

Off topic a bit. Thoughts on overnight wireless charging. I have a great charging cradle that I want to use but don't want phone to crack at night from hours of heat. Sony z2 and z4v had issues with that

Shouldn't really get hot once it's fully charged?
The charger that comes with it is a quick charge 3.0 charger and can completely charge your phone from zero in less than 2 hours easily. You have to use the cord that came with it though, or at least one that is compatible. If you look at the icons, you will see a different one than the usual charging icon. Pulling down the menu shows something about fast-charging when its active.
My experience comes from the Sprint version.

None of my QC 3.0 charger fast chagrge my G6. The QC 2.0 chargers do.
I've bought a Choetech wall usb charger, QuickCharge 3.0 with its usb type-c cable, and when I plug it on LG G6, it says that there's fast charging.

I do not believe the LG stock charger is qc qc 3.0 compatible because its fixed mat output at 9v is 1.8a
qc 3.0 defines the max amps at each voltage level from 5v to 9v to 12v
I ended up buying anker qc 3.0 chargers for my car and for ac wall outlet. also bought their nice braided usb c cable. every combination yields a fast charger notification in the drop down and the ampere app confirms this. also watching the real time output is impressive from all these chargers.
the benefit to using a certified qc 3.0 charger is that the phone will tell it exactly what amps to deliver based on charge & temp.
further, the G6 has a heat pipe to help cool the entire phone including the battery, to help prevent a galaxy note scenario.
wireless charging is slow Qi spec and is NOT fast like samsung. however, slow charging over wireless is great for overnight.
I use anker's qi charging puck and it works great except I have to remove my case. same with the samsung fast charger puck. my wife doesn't have to remove the case on her S7 to do regular or fast charging. LG's design is obviously inferior for the Qi to pickup and activate the coil.

Those who bought QC 3.0 charger and those who trying different cables with LG G6 charger, Try Cable from Oneplus 3, I get an improved charging of 10-20 minutes less compared to stock LG cable
The issue might be the cable you're using. I've had no trouble fast charging using an old ASUS QC 2.0 charger, or a cheap car QC 3.0 charger. Even when using microUSB cables with USB-C adapter tips, but I'm using decent cables (mostly Monoprice and Anker).
I've confirmed that the charger that came with my G6 is QC3.0 (model MCS-H06UR, UK 3-pin). Using a USB power meter, the voltage will increase from 5V to 9V in small steps. If I use a QC 2.0 charger (stock charger from Note4/S7edge), it will jump from 5V to 9V immediately.

How much time does it take to charge fully? Did you record time ?
Do you have any recommendation for car charger (cigarette lighter plug)?
One with fast charger feature which is compatible with Google Pixel 2 (USB-C PD?).
For my old Nexus 6, I must use car charger with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, because otherwise the Nexus 6 will still loosing power when using car navigation software. Standard car charger cannot keep up with the battery drain.

I came from a Nexus 6 too. I ended up buying micro USB to usb-c mini adapters which just go on the end of my old USB leads. I threw one on the car charger and it works fine. It's a stop Gap measure, and I mainly got it for an ihome Android charger/radio, but ended up wrapping duct tape around a usb-c charger cable and putting it in the radio dock.

I use the Aukey QC 3.0 car charger with dual 3.0 USB ports. It does not register as rapid charging but it is very quick. I used it with Moto Z Droid and used Google navigation while charging and it charges quick and does not lose charge. I also use the Aukey 3.0 wall charger and that does register as rapid charging.
I just bought a Deltaco (a Scandinavian brand) 3A/5V 15W car charger for 6,5 USD. Can't feel much difference compared to the original home charger's 18W using a 2. Gen Goobay 60W USB C-C cable.
Phone registers the input as rapid charging.
Ampere registers 2.7A with the screen on. Same as the standard charger, so I didn't find any reason why it should be worse

I bought the Nekteck 5.4 amp charger https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CH9NEM2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The curly cord is hard wired and side mounted with a USB C plug on the end, it charges my Pixel 2 fast (charging rapidly). I had issues with other chargers and cables that wouldn't charge my Pixel 2 at full speed, this one works great. Also, it has a USB A port on the top so you can rapidly charge two devices at the same time.
The Verizon branded one works really great. Charges very fast.
Any update on these?

I think the hard wired C cabled chargers are the safest bet because of all the dicey 3rd party C cables out there.
I just got the $10 Monoprice USB C charger with PD (9v 3A) because it is rated to charge the at least as fast as the in-box wall charger. Not shilling for Monoprice, just seemed like a better deal than all the sketchy chargers on Amazon with fake reviews, none of which offered anything but 5v 3A or worse at under $25. I figure it's trustworthy because they say it's certified and Benson tested their cables and said they were OK. So far it has not tried to burn my car down or nuke my phone. I'm using it with the 0.5m Monoprice cable, it was about $17 with tax for the bundle. I can't post links, search 24424 on Monoprice.

So I originally bought this Aukey car charger with Qualcomm 3.0 quickcharge (LINK) with 2 outlets for a USB Type-A connection to be plugged into it to charge 2 devices. I originally used it for my old phone that used a Micro-USB connection. After I got my Pixel 2, I needed new cables with its USB-C connection. I went and got these Anker USB-A to USB-C cables (LINK) so that I could charge with these cables or to connect my phone to my PC. Now, I've read that older Anker USB-C cables have had issues but from doing some more reading that these have been fixed I believe.
I am planning on using the Aukey charger mentioned above, and then plugging in one of the Anker USB-A to USB-C to charge my phone and was wondering if it'll be a safe combination? From some googling around and research, it seems it won't charge as fast as the wall charger (which is amazingly fast btw) or a USB-PD connection but that's perfectly fine as I don't need it to be as quick. I'm just cautious because I've read about the potential issues with using a bad charger with a not-up-to-standard cable (like something that isn't necessarily verified by Benson Leung or something). I don't care/need USB-PD charging (which I assume is where it uses a dedicated USB-C cable coming from the charger or a separate USB-C to USB-C cable connecting the cable to charger), as long as the combination I just mentioned works.

Now, I've read that older Anker USB-C cables have had issues but from doing some more reading that these have been fixed I believe.
I am planning on using the Aukey charger mentioned above, and then plugging in one of the Anker USB-A to USB-C to charge my phone and was wondering if it'll be a safe combination? From some googling around and research, it seems it won't charge as fast as the wall charger (which is amazingly fast btw) or a USB-PD connection but that's perfectly fine as I don't need it to be as quick. I'm just cautious because I've read about the potential issues with using a bad charger with a not-up-to-standard cable (like something that isn't necessarily verified by Benson Leung or something). It will charge your phone just fine, but as you said, it will not fast charge. I use a similar setup now as I continue to look for the right PD car charger.

You guys should both look at 24424 on Monoprice. That QC charger isn't going to fast charge no matter what, I used one with a Tronsmart branded USB C to Micro B adapter that Benson recommended no problems though. They have a cheaper non-PD charger too, but why bother?

I'm sorry, I don't understand. If we already have charger that aren't PD compliant then why do you recommend buying another?

A USB C charger 5v 3W standard will still charge faster than a USB A QC charger, but it's only $3 less on Monoprice for the non-PD one. I don't see anything on usb DOT org listing GearMo on the certified power brick chart. I wouldn't risk it. There's no reason to put a USB 3.0 A-type port on a charger, seems fishy to me.

i'm back with a few more chargers to test, this time from baseus which i have to admit i've never tried before. they sent me the 45w charger/10000mah power bank as well as their 120w 3 port wall charger. the first thing that jumped out at me is the size of these things. even though they employ GaN they are larger than I'm used to. it is somewhat understandable on the 45w charger as it also doubles as a power bank, but i was really surprised at how big the 120w charger was. that said, performance on both of them were great and they feel really dense, so they don't appear to be wasting any space.
the 45w charger was the one i was intrigued the most by because of its versatility as a wall charger and a portable power bank. you can plug it in to use as a charger or charge the 10000mah battery, and both usb c ports can be used to charge the battery as well. baseus claims 45w max output on ac power or 30w max on portable power through either of the type c ports individually, or when used together 30w+15w or 15w+30w on ac power and 18w+18w on portable power. i tested it using my pixel 5 and a completely dead samsung chromebook plus and noticed consistently that the top port had a slightly lower voltage than the bottom, despite both being rated for the same. neither port delivered a full 45w on my testing. with the chromebook and the charger plugged in the top port maxed out at 2.35a/14.6v, with the bottom port delivering 2.35a/15v. plugging in a second device dropped the charging speed to 1.85a/8.7v and 1.9a8.8v for top/bottom. in powerbank mode the top/bottom gave 2.2a/11.7v and 2.2a/11.9v individually, 1.9a/8.8v and 1.9a/9v with a second device plugged in.
the 120w charger offers 3 ports, 2 usb c and 1 usb a. theoretical power output gets a bit complicated; the usb c ports can put out up to 100w individually, or 60w+60w when used together. either usb c port used with the a port will put out a max of 87w with the a port delivering 30w, and if you use all 3 together the top c port will put out 60w, with the bottom c and the a port putting out 30w each. in my testing i was able to maintain charging speeds of 1.85a/19.2v on the top port regardless of what the other ports were doing. on the bottom port the speed was similar, but dropped to 2.2a/12v once i had all 3 ports in use.
as i mentioned earlier these chargers are quite large and heavy. the 120w is noticeably heavier and larger than a 90w 3 port charger i recently tried out. obviously it delivers 33% more power and there is a lot to be said for that, but i think for most users this would be more of a wall solution versus a travel charger. the 45w charger is much larger than a few other 60w chargers i have, but again this baseus charger offers a fairly unique advantage of both plugging in and using portable power. while these chargers dont fall into the ultra-packable categories, they both offer value in the extras they can deliver. right now the 120w charger is available on amazon for $44.99 after clipping the on-page coupon, and the 45w for $32.99 after clipped coupon, and if you buy both it gives you an extra $5 off of each. as always these are not affiliate links; im not affiliated with any of these companies and dont receive any compensation for these reviews.

As far as I'm aware, using a charger with more power than the supplied charger makes no difference. The device decides how it will draw power.
These high wattage chargers are mainly for laptops.
I bought this 45W charger few days ago, but with one usb-c and one usb-a port. First I bought variant with 2 usb-c ports, but it didn't work well, it only charged from the wall, but when tried to charge from battery, phone started to charge power bank instead of the power bank charging phone, so I returned it and got the variant with one usb-c port and with one usb-a port, because they didn't have option with two usb-c ports anymore. I actually love this charger, because you can use it for both, as wall charger and as power bank and that's awesome for traveling and it also have PD. But I don't think it's really 10000mAh power bank. I tried to charge my phone from power bank, the power bank was fully charged, and my Pixel 5 was 50% charged. I left it overnight and it charged my phone to 100%, but power bank has only 25% battery left (1 light on out of 4). I don't think 10000mAh power bank should last only half of a charge. I was thinking about ordering other charger and power bank, but I couldn't find any charger and power bank in one device other than that specific device from Baseus.
