that is weird. I have had problems with my old card being too slow and I too wanted to get one of those. I would have expected it to be fast enough. I think a UHS 3 class card has to have at least 40MB/s write speed, which I'm sure this one has...

It could be fake card. There is a software to check the real speed of the memory cards, try to google it as I don't remember its name.

Did you buy directly from Amazon, or a seller on Amazon? That makes a difference, my understanding is that it is very easy to purchase a fake SD card from a seller through Amazon.

I don't know what that means honestly, but I look for this: Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. Not sure what that would look like ordering from Amazon from overseas.
Anyways, can you not return it? Order something else or purchase local?

i just order SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC

I just looked at the card you linked, not many cards faster than that. However, I don't know how a UHS-II card would read in the HTC 10, as it does not support that as I understand. Maybe purchase a UHS-I card like the Samsung Pro Plus?

Sorry, thanks for clarifying. It may have been the UHS-II designation that was causing your problem with the Lexar card. Hopefully the SanDisk works for you!

Ultra is kinda slow. You should've ordered Extreme or even Extreme Plus.

I had the same issue with both Lexar and SanDisk Ultra 128GB cards. When I switched to 64GB card, all worked well. With the bigger capacity cards, I think HTC formatting takes too long and it times-out with the message you mentioned. Try a smaller capacity card and see if it works. I do understand that theoretically sd cards with higher storage capacity should be supported but may be not for adaptable storage. Just my two cents worth.

Currently using (though have not actually written anything to it yet because I have 8GB left on the built-in storage) and it formatted just fine on my Verizon HTC10:
Lexar Professional 1800x microSDXC 128GB UHS-II W/USB 3.0 Reader Flash Memory Card - LSDMI128CRBNA1800R
Storage currently reads:
24.15 GB
total used of 150GB
Phone Storage
24.12 GB used of 32GB
CTGOTG
60.5MB used of 118GB
Hope that helps! :highfive:

From what I'm understanding in the link below, the hardware in our handset won't be the problem with accepting an SDXC card... but we'll be waiting on Android to recognize such a card.

Sir you are correct, thats indeed the current problem. Although it is not a very big problems, since linux doesnt see the difference, thus accepting sdxc cards This could be fixed with a software update. Lets hope Samsung is watching us here
hm.... !!!
How hard would it be for a dev to implement it do you think?
Not that difficult IMHO.... Because hardware requirement for both types of cards are the same.... So only the cost factor & availability of high capacity storage are minimal. Hence they are not used commonly....
Otherwise imagine sgs2 utilizing 2TB of storage from sdxc ????? WOW !!!!!!
That would be sexy..... Devs are you listening ????
Any news with 64gb on sgs2? I know this is dead topic since a while, but there's 2.3.4 leaked already, anyone checked is it works now / discover how to make 64gig fully working?
Unfortunately, there don't appear to be any microSDXC cards on the market at the moment -- even full-size SDXC cards are a bit hard to come by.

Exactly, I bought a 32gb card. It will record about 4 hours of HD video from camera! I do a lot of transferring.

{ Can I } extend to 32GB SD ?

can I use a 32gb SD card in my device ?
thanks ^^^
you sure can! i am using one now. sandisk class 4. bought it for 29.99 and a 1 day sale! works great along with my internal card!
I'm using one too. Just a note, the internal memory registers to apps as the SD card, while the SD card is located as a folder inside that marked External_SD. I had to redirect a few apps to there to find their data.

Yeah it's really expensive here is the price:
64GB $219.99
but are you sure it can? cause from what I've read SGH-T989 is designed to take up to 32GB's only... I'm curious if it can really take more than that set value of 32GB's. You will see this if you read the owner's manual of the phone
there are many confirmations and videos that have shown it can, even on old HTC and Samsung devices, or many other phones
as for the price, if you think about it
2x 32GB $100 = 1x 64GB $200
so it's just like buying 2 card, but you can use them together at the same time instead of having to take out the back cover + case to swap the SD cards

basically, with a format of the card, its possible, however the speeds may be bottlenecked by the device itself, not the card.... and from what i read, it should be compatible with ALL micro sdxc cards!! also works on the evo 4g, htc sensation, and galaxy s I

Micro SD choices

OK I'm in the hunt for a 32GB class 10 SD card. I have been reading a lot about one called Komputerbay. Seems as though it may be made by Samsung or for Samsung. All the reviews that I have found seem to be pretty consistent, however, these reviews are like any other review, you just read them. No response from people in real time. I want to direct my question to those that I can trust and have direct contact with in real time. Does anyone have any info on this product? Or have any suggestions, or recommendations? 16 or 32GB not really a concern. Main concern is speed class 6 or 10, who has the true tested speed? TIA for all who help.
EDIT
I have also found one called 3C Pro, any info here too? thanx
Komputerbay is nothing to do with Samsung.
It's a SD card adapter see here
You can see the speed test here for the class 10
Not a very smart idea to use a class 10 on the OG evo. Its meant to only be compatible with cards up to class 4.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC ($47.99)

I have ordered the 64 GB from Amazon twice and they both failed at 12GB, so I returned them. I saw this sale at BUY.COM and it says they are an authorized reseller, so I ordered one. It is only $47.99, shipped.

Did you buy an item that was sold by Amazon of from another vendor on Amazon? Did you suspect that the cards you bought were fakes or did you just get bad ones. I would be wary of buying this card again if I had two failures unless I could attribute the failures to being a fake Sandisk and I was sure that the 3rd was the real deal.

Nothing about the first two gave me the feeling they were fake. The first one I purchased from the Amazon Market, the second direct from Amazon. While copying files on my PC, they both started out at the same speed as my old class 4 16GB card. by the time they made it to 12GB, they had slowed to a crawl and then completely failed. At that point, they both died and couldn't even be formatted.
I will give it one last try with BUY.COM, if I have the same issue again, I am sending it back and buying a 32GB card.

Hi there,
if you like to know I am right now in the same situation. I buy a Sandisk microSDXC 64GB and the first time I put that card in my OLD card reader the PC recognize the card immediately, so to test the card I start copy a file .iso of 6.5GB into the card and then completely failed less than 6.5GB. Now I can't format the card, no way. I try with SD Formatter 3.1, HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool 2.1.8, Gparted Live, CMD from Windows 7, no way to format the card. I can only delete the wrong partitions. All the app see the full capacity card but I can't format the f....ng card. I made few research and somebody said I have to have Card Reader fit in with SDXC. All the devices which you use have to be compatible with SDXC, if not you have problems. That is not what I say, that is what the other people saying. I just don't understand why my PC recognize the card with my old card reader and then failed to copy the file and now I can't format the card, something wrong with this stuff.
Anyway, to be fully sure I buyed the Mobilelite G3 Kingston Card reader so I let you know when I get it if something change!
I hate this stuff, but I need this stuff!
Today I received the reader SDXC, no luck, all the same, I have to send back the card, so probably was not the reader the problem, this cards are **** and I don't know why?
If anyone know something about this cards, please let me know, thanks.

which device do you use? Do you formatted the card in different system file (NTFS, FAT32)? The old device see the card?
I purchased the 64gb card. used the adapter that came with it and it was recognized by my PC immediately (used the PC to format in exFat).
I also had another USB style adapter that I used to plug my old 32gb class 6 card into. I had that connected to my PC as well.
Then i just transferred all the files from the 32 over onto the 64 using my PC, and popped the 64gb card into my phone after the files were all transferred.
I can plug my Galaxy 3 into my PC using USB and it'll recognize by my card memory and phone memory separately.

SD Card

I have a 64gbs SD card in my Tab S,i want to replace this with a 128gbs card,if I dismount the 64 gb card can I get everything of it via my pc onto the 128gb card.also can someone recommend a good 128gb card.Thank You.Longlegs
Yes you can. You'll probably have to copy the contents of your SD card first to your PC, then to the new card. As for SD cards, I actually recommend Samsung themselves. They are more expensive but they work all the time every time and aren't faked. Sandisk is great as well, but with there being so many fakes out there, you never know what your really getting.
Samsung or Sandisk are the best, but buy from somewhere reputable as there are a lot of fakes out there, 4gb microsd that look to the computer/tablet as 128gb until you try putting more than 4gb of data on it then you get errors and data lost.
You can use the apps in the link below to test if your card is fake or not, they require a Windows computer and a microsd to full size sd adaptor.
I used H2testw myself on my new Samsung 128gb evo+ microsd it tested as real not fake.
Always format your new microsd inside your table, you can do this in the settings/storage/format sd card.
Also below is an app, that can tell what brand your microsd thinks it is from the manfacturing data on the microsd card, so a Samsung should show as Samsung and Sandisk show as Sandisk, the app is not perfect, read the faq about this.
