Problem with Odin on VirtualBox - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I know that this thread isn't about Galaxy Tab 3 but I need Odin for that tablet. So, I'm using Linux Mint operating system now and Odin isn't released for Linux. I tried to use Jodin 3 but when it creates .pit file and restarts my device I get back into Download Mode but Jodin doesn't recgonize my device anymore. Tried Heimdall but I don't know how to use it. So, I tried VirtualBox. I Installed Windows XP there, installed Samsung USB Drivers and got others thing I need. Booted my tablet into download mode, connected it to the PC and Odin recgonized it but, when I wanted to flash TWRP Recovery I chosed it into AP and click start it shows me bluescreen and restarts my virtual machine. I don't know what to do...

Fixed it myself, just installed Oracle VirtualBox Expansion Pack and in the USB settings I chosed "USB 2.0 (ECHI) Controller".

I had the same question...answered now lol

[Solved] [Q] I9250M not recognized by fastboot or adb.

Hi guys,
I'm using the I9250M for work, and attempted an update through Kies with usb debugging off. The update failed, and now I'm left with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.
I've tried holding both volume up/down buttons and power, but cannot get into download mode or any other mode. I've taken out the battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds, then replaced the battery, but still nothing.
It seems that there is no communication between the pc and phone regardless of the drivers being found and installed.
Things I've tried:
Connecting with Kies - Installed drivers through device manager using windows update. Kies is stuck on "Connecting". Only the OMAP4440 driver could not be found so had to install the OMAP4460 driver.
OMAPFlash - this seems to work ok but not sure what to do when it says "Press any key". There is no mode change after flashing (I still have the yellow triangle).
After looking through the stickies and other tutorials I've tried using the Galaxy Nexus toolkit, PDANet, Odin and WugFresh tools, but they all seem to need usb debugging on, which I can't get to.
From past experience (with windows mobile), I've usually been able to unbrick a phone if it is recognized by a windows pc, so even though this is an android phone, I'm hoping that I can do something to get this phone back in working order.
Further info: The two Samsung usb drivers installed on my windows 7 64 bit machine are modem and CDC. I've also tried using a couple of the adb interface drivers in device manager with no luck.
If I can somehow get to the download mode, that would be half the battle won.
Any suggestions.
Cheers!
You need Odin.

Thanks for your reply Mach3.2.
As mentioned in my first post, I tried Odin 1.85 and 1.87 already but the phone wasn't recognized. So, I decided to try Odin 1.87 on XP, and hey presto, the phone was recognized.
So that was my problem, I needed to use Odin on Windows XP. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks!!!

So i've read about flashing Note II with ODIN then i download ODIN v3.09 and N7100 firmware and trying flashing but my phone is not connecting to ODIN it's not showing anything and even i cannot hear ding sound windows sound when i connect my phone to the USB cable. So what should i do to use my phone again.

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
AND I'VE TRIED THIS WITHOUT SIM & MEMORY CARD
Enable USB debugging from developer otions, close all Kies in task manager of windows.
Look into windows hardware if there is something like your device marked as unfunctional, or even connected other than media storage (maybe as camera or so)
Update or reinstall USB driver for your device.
my phone is not opening so how can i Enable USB debugging from developer otions
@jaiffable You don't need to enable USB debugging for download mode, as the DL mode works regardless of the settings in OS. It is however needed just once, to install the driver. Check if Kies running in the background and if the crap is installed, kill all its processes with PC task manager.
Try rather Odin 1.85 or 3.04 or 3.07 instead and if the uninstalled drivers are problem, use Heimdall in Linux, it needs no drivers.
tetakpatalked from Nexus 7 flo
Try to run Odin as an administrator. Right click on Odin then run as administrator.

Samsung Tab S t705 Lte Bootloop

Ok so i have a Samsung Tab s t705 lte and its right now in a bootloop. So I rooted it and flashed twrp. Then i flashed xposed framework. Flash successful but it entered a bootloop. I tried uninstaller but it still remained in the bootloop. Then i restored a nandroid backup but it still is in a bootloop. I tried clearing cache and dalvik Cache and wiped data too. Still a bootloop. Now im trying to flash stock samsung rom ( i got it at sammobile) through Odin 3.09. Ive got the appropriate drivers and everything installed. Only problem is i dont know how im supposed to enable USB debugging when im in a bootloop. If you have any solutions..please let me know.
PS- Its not deodexed nor is the bootloader unlocked. Also, im an adb noob so ill need help with the commands.
Thanks in advance!
You dont need to enable usb debugging or adb. Not sure what makes you think that?
Just install the Samsung USB drivers, put your device in download mode, put the stock firmware in the AP slot of ODIN and hit start.
Not able to install drivers

No the point is that I tried installing the drivers but it said installation failed, please connect device to computer to install successfully. And when i connected my device to the computer, since the drivers werent installed it couldnt recog it. and also, i dont really know much about drivers for samsung. i just downloaded smt i found off google called USB DRIVER FOR SAMSUNG auto installer. Im using a HP laptop, with a intel i5 process, windows 7, radeon graphics card. Thanks
Just download drivers from Samsung website all they do is enable your laptop to communicate with the tab......then download a older version of Oden and a rom that matches your device from update.com there you will also find a how to gide.

Samsung Device in Download Mode not recognized by ChromeOS

Hello, XDA.
I am currently using an old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900T), bootloader is locked and it is unrooted. I have the intent of using Heimdall to flash TWRP with my Acer Chromebook 15, running ChromeOS 75. The Samsung Device is recognized perfectly in normal mode, but once it is put in Download/Odin mode it is no longer recognized by ChromeOS, meaning Heimdall cannot recognize it either. Both ports on the Chromebook appear to be USB 3.0, judging by the blue color. Are there any drivers or programs I can use to allow my Chromebook to recognize the Note 3 when it is in Download/Odin Mode?
I only know of doing the flashes by using Odin 3.11 on windows computers, you may have to find a windows pc to do it unless someone else has an Idea (my note 3 is running lineageos) I used odin 3.11 on windows 7 and had the zip from lineageos's website (nightly ofc) i dont remember the root tool but i do remember i had to root it to flash twrp and lineageos, other than the information I have just given I don't remember much else

Boot loop after attempted downgrade of twrp

I attempted a downgrade to an older version of twrp via twrp in recovery mode. Not sure what I did wrong. Now my LineageOS hangs at the LG logo at startup. When I try to access TWRP using recovery mode, the LG logo flashes on and off (loops). I cannot access the LineageOS to enable debugging, OEM unlock, MTP USB mode, etc...
From a Windows XP SP3 desktop:
I can manually put my D851 into Download mode and can get from Download mode to firmware update mode when connected to a Windows XP computer. The Windows XP computer sees the phone as new hardware ("LGE Android Net MTP") device when connected in Firmware Update mode. In Firmware Update mode, I cannot properly access the phone using the LG PC Suite, ADB/fastboot tools, etc...
I have tried installing various versions of the LG United USB drivers. Originally, the driver installs failed citing "Windows MTP driver" not found and advising me to install Windows Media Format Update. After learning Windows Media player contained the Windows MTP driver, I installed Win Media Player 11. Now the LG United driver install fails but without mentioning missing Windows MTP driver or Windows Media Format 11 runtime updates. I have tried installing the USB drivers using LG PC Suite but it too fails when reinstalling the driver. LG PC Suite cannot connect to my phone. . Ihave tried to install the LGMobile Support Tool (ie. LGMobile Phone Software Update Tool), but the install seems to hang.
I feel that if I could just get a computer to communicate properly with the phone while in Firmware Update mode, I should be able to restore my phone. Does anyone have any ideas on other things I might try?
Thank you
I got stuck in that same boot loop as you. There's a thread that claims that the D851 is unbrickable: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/help/lg-g3-d851-unbrick-qualcomm-9008-t3430221 But I was also unable to get it to work on my laptop. I think some computers may have a hard time using the drivers correctly and maybe trying another computer is your best bet.
But personally, I ended up sending mine to a J-Tag service on eBay and paying some $30 to get the thing completely reset.
