Delayed notifications - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

Hi I imported the Mi Max and think it's a great phone but all my notifications are being delayed I'm on Muiu 8 beta but before that it was the same..... I'm not sure how to fix it I've been through all the battery settings and so on.Great phone for the money.Thank you.

I have not had any problems myself with delayed notifications and I'm on the latest official Chinese ROM.

Thanks all my settings are the same as your settings..... Strange annoying but I can live with it.

Try going to the Security app > Permissions > Autostart And enabling autostart permissions for all apps that are having difficulties with notifications.

Have you tried going to Settings -> Additional Settings -> Battery & Performance -> Manage apps battery usage -> Choose apps...
and then enter the specific app and select "no restrictions"?

delayed notifications is due to make sure in security app and permissions have you allowed WhatsApp to autostart.

At first i have the same issues but i ironed out by moving google apps to system/app . I have no more delay notification.

Convert to system app with Titanium Backup is usually the easiest solution.

Turn off all battery saver/battery optimisation settings. Don't keep any profile battery modes. And in security app, auto start the applications. That's all it will work fine after that.

This morning I have got the same problem. Delay of all notifications ±30 sec.
I have got delay after flash 6.7.21 xiaomi.eu. Reason is in Settings -> Battery... -> Manage... -> On / Off.
If ON have delay. Not care exceptions. After choose OFF need to RESTART. Without restart still delay.
I have proofed it many times this morning.

yea it's not a problem it's a feature, you have to configure it. anyway first thing i do when i use miui is to disable battery saver related features.

Just today I solved this problem and now my whatsapp and other apps which I want working all the time works. Follow this link

Customize Status Bar?

Can anyone tell me how do I customize the status bar icons on my G3? I really need to add a button to enable or disable GPS.
Thanks!
On the toggles drag them all the way left, at the very end there's an edit toggle that will take you to the customization screen thing.

If you want further customization, theres an Xposed module called G3 Tweaksbox which is pretty damn comprehensive. You should check it out. If you dont know what xposed is and how it works id be happy to share!

I'd love to get it, unfortunately since I rooted my new G3 this last weekend I can't download anything from Google Play. Can you tell me where I can get the APK?

There's the link to the installer, the link is after the word "download:"
But why can't you install anything from the app store? That's bizarre..the first thing I do is root my devices, doesn't affect the play store....necessarily

It is bizarre. I can access Google Play, find an app, and attempt to download, except that the app never downloads. I get an error 495. I've googled that error and I've cleaned data and cache from Google Play and Google Framework. I've also removed my Google email address from Accounts, cleared it all again, then added my email again. No joy. Seems there are a small number of people with that problem. It's very frustrating with my brand new phone.

Try downloading an app from your browser and not the Play Store app. This has got mine working in the past when nothing else worked.

Sounds like switching Roms might solve that problem. Are you on the stock Rom? Here's the one I'm using, there are only two for now and they are both leaps and bounds better than stock. Additionally, it may be a problem with an older iteration that rom if you are using a custom one

Just got the notification. Waiting on WiFi it says.

Nothing special
I'm going to avoid it in case they patched something. So far it seems you can avoid it by staying off of WiFi.
edit: It started downloading on LTE... I killed Software Update and it keeps respawning.

If you go in to system updates through the settings and check for the update, you have 3 options, No Thanks, Download Later, and Download Now.
If you click No Thanks, the alert goes away. It will even state in the system update app that the last update (on June 30th, 2105) failed.
Download later allows you to choose a time that better suits you.
And of course Download Now, starts the process right now.
Hope this helps.
When i go to system update all i have is update now or later. I don't get the no thanks option.

I didn't get any pop up notifications. I was on WiFi and it just started downloading by itself.
Just downloaded and installed software changed to 11A, so far only thing ive noticed is keyboard is a lot smother so far no missed taps
Also seems to have helped with wifi issue before it was like i was on dial up, couldnt get a page to load but now i can actually use wifi
Yes, waiting to d/load it later today.
From Droid-Life:
An update is rolling out for the LG G4 on Verizon, bringing a few features to owners, but nothing all that special. The software version is labeled as VS98611A.
Included is an enhanced Folio display while a call is taking place, an updated consistency for displaying contacts and non-contacts in the Dialer app, and an enhanced Advanced Calling feature. That’s it.

Wow that is very odd...
I didn't have to do anything to be able to Choose "No Thanks".
I operate on a Federal Corporate line I wonder if that has any affect.
If you disable Wifi are you able to click "No Thanks"?

lollipop issues fixed with one app....

Okay I have a note 4 and ever since 5.0 and even 5.1 my phone with wifi on would lag .... chrome would load slow, some apps wouldn't load, app store would take minutes for everything to load, facebook, etc.....
I downloaded DNSet from app store set it to auto start and now my phone is 100% working no problems, this is after many cache wipes, factory resets....
Hope this helps someone if they are having problems like I have.
An app is worth a shot...I downloaded it, and have it set, so we will see how well it does...I notice a little bit of speed increase when opening up Web pages and apps. If this keeps up, thanks for the info.
I use package disabler. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro&hl=en
Thanks to you both! These apps rock!
Yeah, package disabler made this phone way quicker and improved battery life dramatically. Thank you for the suggestion.

The app knows what is safe. You hit remove all bloatware and it does it for you. I had to turn back on my calendar and a few things, but its really easy.
Dnset made my browser easily 10x faster.
Yeah I just used the other app with DNSet and now my phone is like it was when I first bought it.
Just downloaded both of these and they've worked wonders! Only complain is that DNSet leaves the icon in my notification tray all the time.

HUUUUUGE screenshot, LOL. :D
That's odd. Normally there are 2 options: Set as Priority and Block. Block is missing and would've blocked all notifications from that app. So for some reason, the app designer decided that the notification is necessary and should never be removed :(
Sorry. I thought what I said would've helped. :([COLOR="Silver"]

I don't know about DNSet since I'm not actually using it, but Package Disabler might at least help increase battery life in other areas, causing the wifi drain to be less noticeable.

I could not get DNSet to work, but I use package disabler and greenify. Really improved my battery life.
So after installing Package Disabler I can't save any screen writing I do. When I go to save it just says, "Screen Write has stopped". I've gone through the list of packages that are disabled and I've re-enabled everything that looked like it could be related to the S-Pen but no dice. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas?
I use S NOTE all the time and no issues with Package Disabler. Try rebooting your phone after enabling packages possibly related.

That's a different thing, free form is common between all aosp roms, but miui has a custom one known as floating window or so, like you get access through the side widget, that's not possible in aosp, only the recent menu one is available which is not convenient as this.
