Contact pictures not showing on screen for incoming/outgoing calls. - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have upgraded my Note to MM. I now have a problem that my contacts pictures do not show on the phone screen during an incoming or outgoing call. If I minimize the screen the pictures shows. When I maximize it does not. Any clues? All I get is a white screen with the buttons.
Does anyone have any clues how I can fix this? I have cleared cache and also factory reset but all to no avail. Help!

Seems there may be a couple bugs with MM. My signal switches to 1x quite often too. Hmmm....

Well here is what I've found out. Apparantly this is a known issue per verizon.
Only fix at this time is to re pick your contact pictures then it works.
Just wanted to let everyone know.

Same..
Same thing here since the update. I hope it gets fixed, as it would be really annoying to have to reset ALL my contact photos. I wish it didn't drive me as crazy as it actually does I think I'll start with my favorites. Please help if anyone finds a fix.

I get this constantly (as in every 60 seconds at times). I like the phone, but not if this continues.
thanks much

Yeah, I'm still stock and I get that error as well. Without getting a logcat as it happens it's difficult to tell. I wouldn't worry about it that much.
Try flashing a newer version of the Google apps

In settings > app manager, find Google Services Framework and clear cache and data.
If that doesn't work boot recovery and wipe dalvik.

Uninstall the app, reboot the phone, download the app again, sign in and see if the cures it.

Google Now - Setup Problems

I was wondering if anyone else here has had problems with setting up the Google now feature. On my note 4 I'm able to set up the Google now by saying "Google now" three times in settings and it recognizing my voice. However when doing so with the Tab S it says for me to say Google now... yet its like it doesn't hear anything and doesn't register my voice at all. Googled and searched the forums but haven't been able to stumble across a solution.

So someone at least mention if you're having the same problems or not. Are you able to set up OK Google voice commands with no problems?

I can say OK Google from the Homescreen without problem.
And also no need to train.

*update went into app manager and turned off/disabled Google. Turned back on and now everything works as it is supposed to. Maybe this will help someone else that runs into this problem in the future.

If you mean what I'm showing in my picture, then don't worry. Your data isn't being used along with your WiFi and this is a known phenomenon (I mean, it's obviously happening to me too). No one has really been able to figure out exactly why it happens (to my knowledge).

I get it, too. Happens a couple times a week around the same time in the evenings. Doesn't seem to affect my data usage.
The AT&T visual voice mail app does this when you use it. It seems to always get its data from the cell network even when wifi is available. It's possible that other AT&T apps do likewise.

This isn't the cause because I've had Visual Voicemail disabled since updating to 5.1.1.

Emergency alerts and video camera

Ok so if I get an emergency alert it stays up until I go into app settings and force stop it. When I restart it it makes the loud tone every time.
Also my camera doesn't give me the option to take video. I looked at another girls g5 and there was a bottom right next to the camera button.

In that screen shot your camera is in manual mode and that's why you don't have the video option. Switch to auto and you will have the video option. (three dots in the upper right)
Oh lol... Thank you. Any ideas on the emergency alert issues?

Not really, it's been awhile since I got one but if I recall just viewing it made it stop. Have you tried clearing the data/cache of the emergency alert app? or maybe a full system cache cleanup. Stock android recovery can do that. But really no clue if that would help or not.
Ok thanks. I feel kinda dumb now. I'm so used to stock vanilla Android. So ready for root.
