Will m8s get Android N ? or the Memory leek fix ? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't find updated information about our device. Android update still shoes M8S at android 5 even do the 6 update is released.
I find the M8S platform is closer to the M9 than M8, and "HTC 10, HTC One A9, and HTC One M9 will receive Android N" (htc.com).
Too bad the custom development for this device is so thin, I like modding but I don't see many options so I'm still locked bootloader, waiting for the complete stage of android release. - I think xposed is the most extended modding available -
Please correct me if I'm wrong and post any updated information about the M8S.

Sense 3 update (missed?)

Hi,
I have searched the Forum and so far not found a definitive answer. I have only just got my phone secondhand and I know that there is supposed to be an automatic update to sense 3 and gingerbread. However, I think my phone has been switched off for the last few weeks. Therefore, I was wondering if I have missed the update or has it still not been released in the UK. My phone was locked to T-Mobile, but has been unlocked and is now on Tesco (O2). I have checked the update option in the settings and it says that my phone is up to date, but I have read that this can also give a false reading. I will probably root my phone at some later date, but don't want to just yet, but would obviously like to run the latest official software. Any advice as to whether I have missed the update or not and what to do if I have would be very welcome.
Many thanks
Ian
The Sense 3.5 Update is not officialy released for the HTC Desire HD. It's only ported to the desire hd by custom roms.
(Don't shoot me if i'm wrong)
Cheersss
He / she was referring to the Sense 3 OTA update, not 3.5, from HTC. The last time I checked myself I was told there were no updates but if you look in the Desire HD development forum there is a post about a clean (ie no tweaks or customisation) and flashable file.
The desire hd does not recieve the sense 3 update because of the single core processor and as it is not a new phone. You can only get it through custom firmwares

[Q] HTC 816 Help Need

Dear all - I have HTC 816 Duel Sim Mobile.Phone details as follows
Androide Version : 4.4.2
HTC Sense - 5.5
Software Number - 1.0.0.D816
HTC SDK API Level - 5.69
Baseband - 1.13.3230.xxxxxxxx
My Problems -
1) How can I update it to 4.4.4 ? - it Doesn't appear Software Update Menu at all
2) could I able to get Lollipop ?
3) How to find out my phone was Original or Not ??
Please help
It looks like you've got the Chinese variant. if so, you can look it up in the forum, there is a way to update your phone to the latest ROM. no lollipop is available for any variant of 816 yet, but if an update comes in the future, you will most probably be able to use it.
To get lollipop you could flash CM12, but it wouldn't be official lollipop from HTC.
Thanks all My buddies ! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Htc one M9 ATT

Guys i bought this htc one m9 ATT variant it has android 5.1.1 lollipop and its S-off and htc dev unlocked already can you guide me how to reach offical htc m9 nougat rom with twrp recovery thanks
Get back to stock (= stock recovery and an untouched system image) and install HTC's OTAs via the software update function of the phone. All needed information can be found in the ReadMe thread.
recovery is stock if i press the update option it says no update is availble and makes me wait 24 hour before update so OTA are no go for me
Then your MID and or CID probably don't match the ones that belong to AT&T's SKU (502). If you could post the output of fastboot getvar all (without your IMEI) here we might be able to solve that problem. In addition, it might be useful if you could post the MID that is engraved at the bottom of the back-side of your phone.
Aside from that, are you sure that AT&T already distributed android 7 for the M9? HTC's US website only provides an android 6 RUU. If you don't care about the AT&T stuff and on your phone and want to get android 7 now you could convert it to the Dev edition (SKU 617). A conversion guide can be found in the ReadMe thread.

At least here in the United States, the developer edition of the M9 is the only SKU that has received Android 7 Nougat - none of the carrier versions have Nougat.
