LG G3 disabled by kill switch - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, i want to update my lg to 6 android, but i cant go to download mode. I just rooted my phone, with titaniumbackup i deleted mcafee program ir my phone. BUT, i cant go to download mode anyway What should i do ..? :/

More information needed.
- What model G3 do you have?
- What Android version is currently running on the phone?
- After successfully rooting, did you install a custom recovery? If so, which one?
- Why are you attempting to go into Download mode?
- What exactly happens when you attempt to go into Download mode? Does it reboot immediately or give you an error message?
- When first powering on the device, do any error messages appear above the LG logo? If so, what do they say?

I got D855, now running lollipop 5.0 android, after root, i didnt install custom recovery. I want to go to download mode to install marshmallow 6.0 android soft, when i go into download mode, it says disabled by kill switch, like mcafee is still running on my phone. No error messages.

After some searching I found a post in a thread that may be useful to you. In short, it looks like you have to contact McAfee. If you can prove you are the owner of the G3, they will provide a 6-digit pin to unlock the Kill Switch. It looks like from the thread that it can be done online on their website. I found no other option to unlock the Kill Switch.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

I know the pin code, but i dont know phone number, becouse i deleted mcafee. I dont know what to do next, how i need to disable it.

You only deleted the McAfee app, not the entire McAfee. Re-install the app from a backup and press the 3 dots in the upper right in the McAfee app. I read somehwere that you can find information you need in there. If that fails, just call em.

How can i do backup? Becouse i didnt done it before :/

[Q] Unroot while keeping data and settings.

I followed and used this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1963790 ) to root my phone, and i have no troubles following the steps. I searched around the thread and found out that i can unroot my phone with the SuperSU app, so i went into the app and selected the unroot button. To my knowledge it worked, since when i went into my Root Check app it said that there wasn't any root found. But here is my problem, when i go into my phone settings and select the stock update for my phone it gives me a message of "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available", so am I missing something? Is there another step i must do to be able to update my phone from 4.1.2. My phone is the Galaxy S3 SGH-I747M. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

Try doing 2 things: First do a hard wipe/reset from settings (after backing up your data, of course). Then boot into download mode and see what your settings are especially if you have a custom or official binary. Sometimes though OTA update availability may take 24-48 hours to register. Finally, if you really want to update your phone to the latest OS, this could be done manually and I'd be glad to point you in the direction of this. Since you are still on 4.1.2, I would suggest you take the opportunity to free unlock your phone on 4.1.1 (if you haven't done this already).
Thanks for the reply,
Won't this method delete all my settings (in my phone settings and app settings)?

Yes, it may which is why you need to do a back-up. You could do a simple back with Kies and restore your apps and settings afterwards.
Suggestion
I would use KingoRoot to unroot the phone, without losing anything! (It's free too just Google it)

[Q] McAfee kill switch and PIN problems

After I upgraded my LG G3 to 5.0 I decided to downgrade it back down to 4.4.2 because 5.0 was crashing randomly. After I got 4.4.2 installed back onto the phone, McAfee shows up automatically and wants a PIN. I never made one.
I can't factory reset the device, it tells me the kill switch is disabled. Also, USB download mode is also disabled by McAfee. I'm at a loss, what do I do?
I've tried 123456 and 000000 as some other members have tried, but they don't work.

Kill Switch Disabled / Black Screen After Factory Data Reset
I just had this problem too; after Factory Data Reset ("FDR") from the "Settings" menu, I went thru setup, opened my Google Backup, watched my Apps reinstalling, then ended up with a black screen showing only the status indicators at the top, and the "Back" arrow at the bottom.
After trying hardware FDS a couple of times, I got a message saying "....Kill Switch Disabled" and then the black screen again.
It turned out that I had installed McAfee antivirus on my phone, including a feature (Kill Switch) which would prevent anyone who got hold of my phone from wiping it and re-selling it for someone else to use.
Once I realized this, all I had to do was log in to my McAfee for Android account from my computer and disable that setting. I don't remember the details of doing so, but it was fairly self-evident once I realized what was happening.
Good Luck

While old, this is probably still relevant - I came here via a search, and found this to be the only way to resolve the McAfee lock. I was trying to downgrade an LG G3 D855 phone so that I could root it, and flashed a file that was supposed to be a stock ROM, D85510A_00.kdz, the oldest KitKat file for this phone. Big mistake, it had NcAfee installed and locked the phone. My McAfee was registered to an email address, and the only way to unlock it was to log on to "my" McAfee account, or have an email sent to this address. McAfee tech support had a very supportive attitude, but couldn't do anything as they didn't have the email address registered. They didn't know their own product too well, suggesting that if I managed to start in Safe Mode I could remove the McAfee app. Not so. Recovery and download modes reported that they had been disabled by the "kill switch". There was nothing I, or McAfee could do.
I came to this thread; the fundamental fact I learnt is that repeated rebooting eventually got the phone started without locking. It didn't work very well, presumably with McAfee using system resources as it tried to lock; it wasn't possible to install anything from the play store ("downloading" for 5 minutes or so until I gave up), and programs worked slowly and not very well with McAfee active and trying to do its thing.
The exact procedure listed here didn't work for me, but once I knew I could get into the phone by repeated restarting I could try anything; anyone reasonably familiar with Android should be able to cope with whatever the system throws up. I first installed Towelroot 3.0, which rooted the phone without needing a reboot I installed files by writing the .apks to the SD card on a computer. I installed the System 2 task manager, Titanium Backup application, and SuperSU at various times. I also installed Total Commander, my preferred file manager, though the built-in one might have been enough. The first thing to do to stop McAfee from undoing everything, once rooted to provide access to its file /system/priv-app/LGMcAfee.MobileSecurity.apk, was to stop the process with System2. (Until then I had done various things, but later found that McAfee had managed to undo them and resuscitate itself on next reboot.) After stopping the process, I deleted McAfee with Titanium Backup. That's the essential unlocking bit. I also installed the TWRP app and used it to flash the TWRP recovery. So I had a phone working well, rooted, with the earliest release of KitKat. Booting in factory reset mode and ignoring the warnings that everything will be deleted starts TWRP in the way I've been used to, and allowed me to restore a backup of the phone (or install a custom ROM).
[When repeatedly rebooting until McAfee doesn't kill, find something not very taxing to do, e.g. watch a video., so the time is not entirely wasted.]
[Added later]: instead of repeated rebooting, it's been suggested that if you manage to go to Settings > General after the boot process has finished but before McAfee has loaded (about 5"), McAfee will not fully start and you can do the root, terminate, remove process. As before the phone will be sluggish and not work properly, and the Play Store will not work, until McAfee is terminated. Put .apks on an SD card, or use a browser to download them from the phone.
[emoji106][emoji106]?[emoji106]?
Great example of perseverance and not giving up. I probably would've. [emoji37][emoji36]
Kudos.

I assumed you reset your phone while it's still locked and you forgot your Google account, is this correct?
If yes, then sadly there's no way to unlock the phone without your former Google account, as far as I know.
This was made by Google to prevent theft on your phone as explained in http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...evice-protection-feature-and-how-do-i-use-it/
And what about people like me who are the phone is locked by mistake?

Try pulling your sim card and resetting again. When it starts up DONT turn on internet.. When you get the "configuring your phone" screen use power and volume up 4 or 5 times then power and volume down 4 or 5 times.. If it doesnt work keep trying. I just randomly pressed the key combinations and it went to a "skip activation" option and bypass google FRP.. (i was stuck on the configuration screen and it didn't give the the chance to log into my account) Once your in ADD YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT TO THE PHONE AND RESET IT AGAIN.. youve just effectively took over the phone. Hope that helps..

Need Help - Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T817V Knox

I have this tablet which is being restricted to use due to Knox. It appears to be for some vendor. It takes over the device even though it's not connected to the internet and doesn't allow me to do anything with it. I have read all the threads I can find and tried every possible option through Odin to install new firmware.
I understand this model is a giant pain due to Verizon and I may not be able to root this for customization. But is there not a way to get a factory clean firmware on here that doesn't have this Knox vendor customization? If not, is this good for anything or just throw it in the trash?

Same issue but I added another user and it works fine because knox isn't running device admin. Owner doesn't work and either does usb debugging. I'm thinking of calling know for remote support.
I beat frp on this same tablet before

Thank you for the response. This is still very much an active question for me.
I'm able to create the user account, install and start the install for the mentioned apk. However, it stops at 90%, and I get this error "Root Failed" Error Code 0x166508. It recommends I use the PC version, but USB Debugging is disabled in main account and I can't even access Developer tools for this new account.
Additionally, I'm unable to use the Home button. I get the following message "Security policy prevents use of Home key"
Seems like no matter what is suggested, there is something new that is blocking this from being used.
